The travel to and from Barbados airport to Canouan Mandarin Oriental was guided all the way by efficient staff without a hitch. The staff carried the "St Vincent smile" and made the tedious air and land travel to the beach resort painless. Hospitality within this resort is top notched. We were greeted by the management team upon arrival as well as departure. During our stay we felt we were the only guests there simply because of the caring and services the staff provided. The great staff really made this place one of the top ten luxury resorts in the Caribbeans. Without saying the rooms are spacious and decorated with top quality materials, e.g. marble floor, smart room switches, Acqua di Parma toiletries, smart TV in mirrors, and others. The only thing lacking is the insect repellent. With their numerous golf carts, Mercedes Benz SUVs, guests of hotels can travel to different beaches and restaurants with ease. Of all the luxury hotels we have been to all over the world, this beach resort is one of my favorites. This resort is only one year old. Perhaps after a few years, more entertainment and international restaurants are added for those who like to enjoy an uncommon good living.

This place is great to escape everyday life as you really are away from it. 25 mins by private jet from Barbados to Canouan, landing at the airport and being greeted as the only passengers in the "airport" was a great experience, followed by a quick 10 min car ride up to the resort. We had a one bed penthouse which was the nicest room we've ever stayed in. Only downside is we had our 6 year old daughter with us and there were no curtains/drapes in the lounge where her bed was. As we paid so much extra when we booked this, I would have expected to be better-informed. The first two nights sleep were disturbed until housekeeping put a foldaway bed in the dressing room. This worked ok, but suggest if you are a family you look at the two bed suite (if you have 2 kids) or a normal suite if you have 1 child. Both these rooms are much cheaper than what we had and would have worked better for us. Service throughout the resort is generally exceptional as you are often the only ones in a bar/restaurant. Food quality is also extremely good but choice is limited daily to two restaurants. Upsides - everything about this place is first class Downsides - possibly too quiet at times

Dear sjf, Greetings from Mandarin Oriental, Canouan! Thank you for your lovely comments, we are thrilled to know how well you enjoyed your stay. While the lack of curtains in the penthouse sitting room take full advantage of the stunning views, we overlooked the possibility that someone on the sleeper sofa may be awaken by the early rising Caribbean sun. Please accept my apologies that your daughter’s sleep was disturbed. Going forward, our team will be sure to mention the potential sunlight disturbance and offer alternate accommodations that may be better suited to a small family. Thank you once again for staying with us, we hope to welcome you and family back very soon! With best regards, Jacquie

We arrived here via Barbados on the island hopper. The meet and greet off the flight cammiehtwas perfect. The check in at the hotel was seamless. Thanks to Christel and Lennie for all their help. It is difficult to single out individual staff as all the staff have been incredibly helpful . Apart from the beautiful surroundings and Immaculate hotel , the one thing that stands out is the service.. incredible. We have eaten in most of the restaurants and the standard is great. The kids have been well catered for. They have loved the water sports and feeding the abundance of tortoises. We have been fortunate to stay in other nice places but the MO is certainly the best we have encountered...

Truly paradise. All aspects fo the trip were fantastic. Part of the excitement is the island hopper from Barbados to Canouan. The Mandarin's service was spectacular. Could not ask for better. The activity staff kept you extremely busy with sailing, snorkeling, water sports and biking. The restaurant rotation was a great idea so you continually ate at different restaurants with different theses on the property. All were great and the food was wonderful

Wonderful hotel. Extremely luxurious with superb staff. Lovely suite and bathroom, almost on the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Very quiet at this time of the year. Really good breakfasts, but for our taste, the other meals were just ok. The infinity pool was warm and inviting and the sun beds extremely comfortable. Danny, our butler, was delightful.
