We came for one evening this week for dinner. The food is FANTASTIC. Literally each dish was better than the next! The view is picture perfect overlooking the bay. They seemed a little under staffed, so the server was a bit slow. I noticed a few tables leaving after not being greeted. However, trust me, it’s worth the wait. Be patient. Have a drink and relax! You’re on island time!!!
This is a self service hotel- which means there probably won’t be any employees on the premises when you check in. I’ve stayed in many places like that before- usually it’s totally fine. The hotel will email you all the info- what time you can pick the key up, where to do so and how to do so. THIS hotel however does not have a phone number to contact in case there’s a problem, the only way to get ahold of them is email or Facebook message. Long saga short, they were not prompt with the checkin info, I had to reach out to them. They were not prompt in returning my emails. I finally got an email about check in at 10am the same day we were supposed to check in. Their only job as a self service hotel is to give me a code to the lockbox where the key is held. They emailed me the wrong code. So when we went to pick up the key and couldn’t retrieve it, there was no one to call. I tried email and Facebook messenger, but only radio silence. After about half an hour we managed to find the cleaning lady who happened to still be around and she was kind enough to give us the correct code. They finally emailed me back later that evening telling me they were sure that the incorrect lockbox code was the right one.... obviously it wasn’t. The room (#24) was beautiful: a balcony with a beautiful view of the bay, ac, tv (only getting 6 local channels,) WiFi. The hotel itself is in a great location, very clean, with an adjoining restaurant with the best food on the island (in my opinion) but even with all this, I don’t thing it’s worth the stress of relying on management that’s unreliable.…
El Navegante de Culebra was one of the greatest stays my wife and I have had in all our travels. The location and cleanliness of this place was remarkable. The folks that helped us and the friendliness of the staff was great. This was designed perfectly, and we cannot wait to return with all of our family.
El Navegante rooms are very clean and have what you need to stay at Culebra for few days. They provide beach chairs and coolers. Excellent location near a bakery and now has an excellent restaurant near “La Cocina del Navegante”. Walking distance from the port ferry and restaurants.
El Navegante is very clean, and has a nice breezy vibe to it. Easy to self check-in. They also have storage areas and a bathroom to use after you check out. Rooms have A/C and TVs. Sitting areas outside. Would be cool if the waterfront restaurant was opened.
