Traveling to Jost Van Dyke, was so worth the plane, taxi and 2 ferries to get there! Stepping off the last ferry, I knew I had arrived in "Paradise Island". The atmosphere and smiling faces spelled "Fun" and you could feel it! Upon arrival at my Hillside Villa I was immediately captivated by views over White Bay and out to sea, the boats anchored and the beautiful stretch of white sand beach. My Hillside Villa had a very comfortable, covered outdoor patio, where I could sit and have my coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at sunset. OH, the SUNSETS!!! Just like a Post Card. The Master bedroom was extremely comfortable and the breezes at night were constant yet tranquil, best sleep in months! My villa had everything I needed. Dinner at Alice's Restaurant on the beach was fantastic, had to have the Caribbean lobster and a few Painkillers. My Wood Oven Pizza at lunch reminded me of the pizza I had in Naples, Italy, authentic! The staff was exceptional, the chef at Alice's is of course, Italian and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Even though I was traveling alone, I had made many friends. You could easily tell that all the guests were relaxed and enjoying themselves, snorkeling, swimming or talking at the beach bar. White Bay Beach is very active with many restaurants and beach bars that you can walk to, no need to go anywhere else and great people watching. I feel like this is my secret island, but that's not fair, Everyone should come and of course, I'm going back as soon as possible! LOVED IT!…
We found the perfect place! Our cottage had a stunning ocean view along with a view of the beach. Sitting on our deck watching the boats come and go was a great pastime when we weren’t participating with beach festivities. Our cottage was comfortable and well appointed. We made breakfast each morning and found the kitchen to be well stocked with everything needed for cooking. There’s many places to choose from for dinner. Kevin, our host, suggested a list of restaurants that were amazing. Our final evening we dined at Alice’s and WOW! Ask for a Caesar salad to start, you won’t be disappointed. A trip to the Bubbly Pool is a must. And lunch at Foxy’s Taboo with a Lime In Da Coconut cocktail will make it a perfect day. If you’re adventurous and the wind isn’t bad, ask about renting a dinghy for the day. We cruised around Sandy Cay, Sandy Spit and ate lunch at the Bee Line Bar. Other than that we enjoyed the Soggy Dollar, Ivan’s. ( Wednesday beach bbq), Tipsy Shark, Corsairs, Foxy’s (Saturday night buffet!), and definitely spend time at White Bay Villa’s Beach Club. Walking from the Villa’s to the beach (White Bay) is a pretty easy path. Walking to Great Bay is a little further. We did it once and the rest of the time caught a safari shuttle or our wonderful host gave us a quick ride. White Bay Villa’s has a staff that is so accommodating, friendly, and helpful. They completely made our trip amazing. And if you’re fortunate to meet Kevin our host, you’ll want to come back again!! …
Our family cannot recommend White Bay Villas & Jost Van Dyke enough. The service and family feel of the villas and Alice’s Restaurant are hard to find. We are on our last of 3 nights and already trying to plan our trip back and not wanting to leave tomorrow morning. From John, the owner, to Kevin, Merus, Maria, Barbara and the staff at Alice’s, everyone made our trip amazing and relaxing. On top of the service at White Bay Villas, the views and the beach of White Bay are gorgeous. Thank you to everyone that made a memorable vacation at WBV for our family of four. Our 12 and 9 yo sons have been in heaven.
I have been traveling to the BVI to sail among the islands for over 15 years. I always hit the normal places and saw the normal sights. This last trip my college roommates and I decided to try a few new places. We headed to Ivan's based on a recommendation from a couple we met at the Soggy Dollar from the same town as one of my roommates. While at Ivan's knocking down nachos and having a few drinks, a couple walked through the beach area carrying a pizza box. The smell had us salivating and we had to ask them where they got the pizza. They said just down the beach from where we were - no more than 50m. Off we went. And are we glad we did. We started off with the Market Salad, followed by the pizza, and finished up with chocolate cake. Any one of the three menu items we tried was FANTASTIC, and would bring us back again, and again. We almost changed our sail plan to stay another day in Great Harbor. We really would have except we had already stayed an extra day there. After we gobble the salad, we gorged ourselves on New York style Pizza and Garlic bread. - both cooked in a wood fired pizza oven. So here's the recommendation. Do your thing at Soggy Dollar, Foxy's, and all the other places you hear about on Jost van Dyke. And when you've checked those off your list, GO TO ALICE's at White Bay Villas & Beach Club. The Staff was incredibly friendly, and there's a good chance the owner, John Klein, to pop in and personally get to know you more than just asking how the food and service was. I'd upload a photo, but we were so enthralled with John's story, we forgot to get a picture with him. I'd be willing to bet the next time you go to Jost van Dyke it will be one of your go-to / must-do restaurants. It is for me now. …
Alice’s restaurant on Jost Van Dyke White Bay is an amazing find. The food is incredible whether it is the 2 pound giant lobster tail cooked in a wood fired brick oven or a NY style pizza cooked in the same. The hospitality is unsurpassed and led by owner John Klein who has a life story that reads like a best selling novel. To top it off, the view of the bay and sunset is stunning as well. You will hear of other places to go like Foxy’s but Alice’s is a must. Don’t miss it!
Listen to the sound of the waves rustle on the shore while you relax and let the world melt away. Lovely place to enjoy a romantic dinner, friends company, and or bring your family. Fantastic dinner something for everyone. You can see the fire from the pizza oven inside and from the patio put front. Great Ambiance, Love the staff here. Pepperoni pizza was on point. Choose any toppings that you like. My personal favorite Aqua Panna Water x 2 large bottles. Excellent wings the sauce is delicious. We tried the lobster and goat as well. I ordered a side of broccoli which was cooked perfectly without butter. Look forward to coming back and staying here. Thank you so much Lena for suggesting to stop by! You’re the best.
Great lodging, views and service. Kevin, the manager, along with all his staff are great and provide great lodging and service. The views from our villa were fantastic and villa very well furnished, clean and enjoyable. Highly recommend them.
Delightful surprise on our sailing trip. Ended up mooring near Ivan’s and saw Alice’s restaurant from our boat so called for a reservation. What a great experience. Full wood fired pizza oven and we ordered the chef’s choice - incredible! Speck, cappicola, burrata, onion - how do you come to the middle of the ocean for the Best Pizza? Absolutely fantastic experience and will be back!
We stayed at White Bay Villas (the Paradise Villas, specifically) during the off season at the end of September in 2022. Jost Van Dyke takes a bit of effort to get to, particularly in the off season when we went. Several restaurants were closed and scheduling diving trips were very hit and miss. We also rolled the dice on the hurricane season and we did very well with weather on our trip (luckily). On the plus side, the rates were an exceptional value during this time and the pristine beaches of White Bay felt like we had private access! Stunningly beautiful- what you see on the website matches the reality. White bay has a wonderful group of people running the place, lead by Maria. Kevin is the main property manager but was less available during our stay, but extremely hospitable- he was great to talk to at the new(ish) Beach Club (bar and restaurant) that they have opened up at the beach specifically for the White Bay Guests- and it is fantastic. Kevin would make us drinks and they gentlemen they had cooking meals was from Italy and made amazing food (when they were open). We only stayed for 3 days as we wanted to island hop around the BVI, but we really enjoyed out short stay! The villa itself is ideal for a couple and has plenty of privacy and was very comfortable. The bedroom has AC, but there was a good breeze up on the hillside for the main rooms to stay comfortable. The villa itself was very well equipped- they even provided a tablet to control the AV system and a cell phone to make local calls! Kitchen had everything we needed and then some, and the bathroom was great with a large walk in shower. Everything was extremely comfortable. 2 things to consider- the walk down to the beach is no joke if you are any sort of "not in shape". Getting down isn't too bad (you'll want more than flip flops though!), but going up back up is WORK! I did it once and it was quite the haul. However, the staff have electric cars and are more than happy to take you down to the beach and back if you give them some time. And there are taxis, but expect to pay ~$10 for a one way trip up the hill or down to the restaurants for the night. Also, there is a decent rock outcrop between the east and west sides of the beach (the Villa side and Soggy Dollar/ Hendo's). There IS a path, but it is rocky, so bring something better than flip flops of you want to traverse back and forth by foot. (A bit hard to find going from East side to the West side initially.) 2) Mosquitos. You are in a tropical environment, so it's a given. I don't think they were worse here than anywhere else that is away from the beach during the daytime. But around the villa in the morning and evening, you best be prepared because they are hungry! Don't plan on sitting on the patio or trying to use the grill without spraying yourself down 1st. Spray yourself and you should be good though. I am not a fan of using the spray and quickly because a fan of it after a day. All in all though, our visit was absolute top notch and I highly recommend this as a fantastic place to stay- I would love to come back someday!…
Our third stay at White Bay Villas, Jost Van Dyke, and it’s better than ever! Same great villas and Team and now with their beach club and Alice’s restaurant with awesome pizza, rack of lamb, great lunches and a terrific chef from Venice Italy! Shout outs to Lena, Kevin, Joy, Kidd, Mérus and gorgeous black Lab Teddy! Such a treat to spend time on this idyllic island!
