Kim and Matt are terrific hosts and the inn is gorgeous. Breakfasts were great and our hosts couldn't have been more informative or entertaining. The "Wine Down" evenings were a fantastic plus. It is a wonderful place with great hosts.
My wife and I had never stayed at a bed & breakfast before so we had no idea what to expect. I can tell you that our stay at the Inn at Onancock has set a very high bar for any future bed & breakfasts to live up to. Kim is an amazing host and a great chef as well. Matt pours a mean beverage and tells a great story. Our favorite part of the stay were the Wine Downs held daily. It was a great social event and gave us the chance to get to know the other guests and Kim and Matt as well. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The attention to detail was great. My wife commented several times, "Wow! Kim thought of everything!" From the bathrobes, to the bath salts, the dedicated make up towel to the towel warmer. Everywhere you turned, you were being pampered. It was wonderful.
My Bircher, sister in law and I visited in September 2019. We are from the UK near London so sadly we can’t com back to revisit at the moment. We loved our stay with Matt and Kim they were incredibly hospitable with breakfasts to die for and the wine down hour as standout features. They’re recommended a boat for us to go out on and it was wonderful and great restaurants within walking distance. We loved the quiet community feel of Onancock. We are well travelled and I can definitely say that this was the only stay where it felt right to hug the hosts as you left. That is a thing of the past but I hope reading this will help others understand how special Kim and Matt make their guests feel.
Kim and Matt welcomed us back for the fourth time to their wonderful inn. In spite of recent statewide shutdowns, the Inn at Onancock is back open and better than ever. The hosts are taking extra special care of guests in light of the pandemic, and I’m honestly not comfortable staying anywhere else. There is so much to do on the area including beaches, wild ponies, wineries and breweries, and a front porch to relax upon. As of mid-May, restaurants are open for outside dining. We stayed in the Provence room this time, my new favorite (I say that about every room!). Be sure to arrange for Matt and Kim to take you out on their boat for a sunset cruise. Always a highlight. I’ll attach some photos of our trip below:
Staying with Kim and Matt is like coming home for a family visit. They are the most gracious hosts, and their home is warm, cozy and inviting. We plan on returning and the Inn at Onancock is the only place to stay
