We love it here and visit about twice a month. I arrange to meet friends who have children here, the kids play for ages on the bouncy castle and play park, leaving us to have a quick catch up and a glass of wine! I have only ordered snack food at The Rowbarge but it served quickly and I have... More

This is a good enough stop when out at on a walk along the river and nothing wrong with it. Location is great but just feels like it needs a refresh. Don't avoid it but no need to go out of your way to visit it.

Hi Catriona, We feel a bit disappointed by the review - but its all down to personal taste and experience. As you will know, pubs and restaurants are having a hard time of it of late - and the number of pub closures is frightening. Despite this we are doing our best, and thankfully we are getting a lot of... More

Have been staying in the Bridge Barn (Premier inn) for the last few years and on my last visit decided that I Would have a change and try something different. Well I was not disappointed. The Rowbarge is a neat pub/restaurant with an accommodation block at the side/ back. We had room 2 which is a disabled room with plenty... More

Sadly we visited the Rowbarge for the wake of my sister on Wednesday 27th. July. A buffet was booked for 20 people @£7.50 per head. Two plates of sandwiches (probably five rounds on each plate) and one plate of sausage rolls! You tell me if you think this is way overpriced! Sandwiches were nice and, I was told, the sausage... Whilst we welcome feedback - be it good or bad - we wont be held to ransom when folk are somewhat disingenuous with their comments. Please note - we don't serve our buffet items on plates - but platters - and each platter will hold at least 10 - 12 sandwiches. Similarly, a platter of sausage rolls holds enough to... More

We are new to the area and decided to try the Rowbarge, I ordered the Cob salad and what a disappointment. The chicken wasn't fresh, the bacon was burnt and it just didn't taste nice. For nearly £15 I would have expected something a lot better. I let the staff know and their response was "oh sorry". I submitted feedback... More

Just been for an overnight stay. Thank God that's all it was. People who gave this higher ratings either have low standards or too soft. Pros: staff friendly, veg breakfast ok but not worth £8.50. Room reasonably clean. Cons: continental breakfast hardly had anything. shower full of mould including shower head. Many products now available so no excuses. Shower tray... More

Hi, Thanks for taking time to give us the review - tho we really did nt want to see it ! We have to admit to a huge own goal - and we have no excuses. The fact is we had planned for refurb and maintenance in all our bedrooms, but we were let down by contractors, and then we... More

It's probably been 2 years or more since I last visited, which went well, but this time not so great, despite my family reassuring me differently. We waited over an hr for our main courses after a fish cake starter came out frozen in the middle and altering the manager that my Nan, who's 88th birthday we were celebrating was... More

Being a regular at the Rowbarge I thought this problem was over, as we went through a similar problem around Christmas. At that time we were told that other beers are available - but that is not an answer. I was In last Thursday 23rd June but left after 1 pint as they had run out of Doombar beer. So having... More

We stayed one night, the welcome was very friendly, room was basic but fresh and clean. We ate in the restaurant that night and the food was excellent. Breakfast was hot and very tasty. We will defiantly stay again.

Very good value rooms (£65 per room). Rooms in annex, only a couple of metres from main bar/restaurant. Check in in bar area. Checked in around 7 pm and was asked if we wanted breakfast the next morning, I responded yes and was then asked what we would like - continental or full cooked English! I said that would depend...
