We stayed at Sands at Bleak House for a private party with buffet. We were very satisfied with our stay. The staff were friendly and professional, and the venue really was perfect. The staff really worked hard and went the extra mile to ensure the guests were well catered for, the buffet was fantastic, plenty of food, and a good...

Went to the animal sanctuary in Cheshunt and on the way back we fancied a drink and a bit to eat. Hey presto this pub appears - not the most atttractive setting but once in what a difference. They have adopted the popular gastro pub decor and it works - as does the food. everyone looked very happy and we...

This is a good venue for lunch or dinner. The menu is quite varied, my family went for various burgers which they enjoyed. I went for the chicken curry and was disappointed by the lack of chicken and the excess of potato in the curry. The decor is modern with a retro twist. Service was good and generally I think...

A friend and I visited on a weekday evening having heard good things about Sands. The service was good, staff friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was very good, with the kitchen accommodating my concerns about chili sauce and putting it to the side so it didn't ruin the dish. The food itself was very good. Definitely a...

After a 4.5 hour journey, I had hoped on a quite nights sleep without any issues, however, unfortunately I wasn't to be so lucky. I was greeted upon my arrival at approximately 10:30PM, by a party in the early stages of winding down, in the bar/restaurant. I actually had to confirm if I was in the correct location, as first...

My husband and I stayed one night after visiting the Mclaren Technology Centre. We arrived late afternoon, check-in was easy and we were shown the accommodation which was a nice touch. As we had been travelling all day we wanted a light snack until we dined later. The kitchen was closed but they opened it up and we had lovely...

We have enjoyed many meals at Sands and thought we would combine the accommodation ahead of an early flight from Heathrow. The evening meal was as good as ever. The accommodation although not bad is very, very basic and not sure how the £90 cost can be justified. You are left alone in the property overnight. There is a fridge...

This is not a 'hotel' as such, but don't let that put you off! We stayed here for 3 nights for a family wedding. We ate on the 1st night in the restaurant ...the food was great standard, the service impeccable and made to feel very welcome. The wedding was a full day private function with full use of bar...

We took over The Sands for my husband's 60th party it was fabulous, everything went to plan. The food was excellent, we had fish for main course which was great. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and attention to detail was excellent. We would certainly recommend it for food and private parties.
