Positives about this place were the lovely building, room with loads of character, peaceful garden to sit out in and the fact it was dog friendly. Negative... only one but a big one...was the breakfast. Hands down the worst breakfast experience I've ever had at a B&B or hotel anywhere. Self service is fine and minimal intervention by the host... More

Over the past year I've stayed here a number of times whilst on business. Having suffered many dubious hotels and B&Bs over the years, I keep coming because; - It is reasonably priced - The beautiful building - Gorgeous views - Delightful rooms - Really nice, clean, bed linen and towels - Slick self check-in arrangements for those arriving outside... Really cosy and lovely B&B. Reasonably priced rooms and offering parking for long periods if you are jetting off somewhere. The rooms are quirky cottage rooms and were clean and well equipped. The entrance to the cottage is very tight, beware entering. It's also not particularly well signposted when you drive down the lane, it is however right at the... More

The owner of the place was friendly and nice, the building is pretty, the bed was comfortable and I would have liked the place except that they shower in the morning had freezing cold water. It's not a nice way to start the day. I waited in the hope that it would eventually heat up; I tried a communal bathroom... More

I am terribly sorry about the hot water issue, although you seem to suggest we simply didn't put the water on for you, it was system issue, not a personal one. We have a large domestic system, which runs off the boiler with an immersion back up, and is on 24/7. The boiler is serviced regularly and the immersion was... More

Stayed here for one night due to travelling to Weston super mare! Room was tiny, dated, the minutest ensuite I've ever seen! On a positive Bed linen was clean! Everything was full of dust! Tea bags in room were uncovered, stale water in kettle! Breakfast was a disaster (God knows how long the cereals and selections of jams had been... More

At very short notice, we needed to find an overnight room for our 15-year old son, on his own, before he caught a flight from Bristol airport very early the next morning. Meadow Cottage really helped us out, gladly accepting a 15-year old to stay (which many larger hotels are unwilling to do). Additionally, having children themselves, the owners put... More

Highly convenient but in a quiet rural setting is this carefully-extended thatched home, which provides quietly luxurious rooms with charming orchard and field outlooks. Minor signs of an operation just bedding in from the building period, but overall excellent value with good proper linen and bathrooms. The breakfast was an initiative test for the wary traveller, as you have to... More

I've never before stayed at a b&b where there was no presence of owner or staff. That's not 100% accurate as when we arrived the owner was about to take the dogs out and told us to find our friends as they had our keys etc. That was the last we saw of any staff. Decor is shabby and room... More

Thank you for posting a review, guest feedback is very welcome. I am not sure if you looked at our web site as I suspect your friends booked for you. Our check in starts at 17:30. If guests arrive earlier than this without notice then indeed the property may not be attended, or rooms ready. We provide a self service... More

Comfortable, very reasonably priced accommodation tranquil setting, Friendly greeting from two dogs (*2 Labradors), on arrival good quality bed including linen, made for a good albeit short nights sleep due to early flight. Would not hesitate to use again. No wifi during our visit, due to bad weather?
