I have stayed at this guest house on a few occasions, and would do so again. The location is five minutes walk from the station, so it is easy and quick for central London. The owners are helpful and friendly - for example, I stayed for two weekends in a row and they very kindly stored some lactose free milk for me to use while I was there. The room furniture is old fashioned, but the beds are comfy, the rooms themselves are always clean and stocked with juice, cereal and tea/coffee. Free wi-fi too. Very good value for money.
This was quite a cheap hotel and we did not expect much but this fell below that. The room was warm, the beds clean and comfortable but I would not stay there again. The reasons for this one star review are: The room main overhead light was so badly wired that if you closed the door, it went out due to a faulty connection. The staff member banged on the wall to make it work and said he'd get it looked at tomorrow. The bedside light did not work and when we pressed the plug against the socket, it flickered. We swapped the socket and then the light worked. I was very nervous about staying in a hotel with such faulty wiring - we got up very early and left. We had difficultly getting in and it took some time to get someone's attention. We were given the wrong keys to the outside door but didn't discover this until it was time to go out for the evening. Two other guests also had difficulty finding anyone to speak to as the intercom as not being answered. The doors were paper thin and any noise from other guests came through into our room.…
Booked last minute as got tickets for a concert the O2 Arena, North Greenwich. Seemed a nice friendly Guest House on arrival, but rooms were very small not very clean and the bathroom / shower was very small. Fridge had orange juice and stuff but was from concentrate and out of date by quite a few months. Worst bit was our return journey to the room after our event. Drunks lined the street, smoking, vomiting and urinating against the walls of the many hotels on the same street. Shouting abuse at us as we passed, not mice for my wife and out us off a bit. Not accommodations fault but just the area and type of cliental so wouldn't recommend for families really. Station is very close though.
Always clean and tidy, Very friendly staff. Rooms have fridges, and some have microwaves. Very good value for the price. Have stayed 4 times now and would definetly stay again. I have always been able to park without any problems and they can arrange to book in a little early if you request it.
I have stayed in Aberdeen Guest House during the last weekend of the 2017 World Championships Athletics. The owner is really warm, friendly and helpful. It is on walking distance of the Ilford station, just a few stops away from Stratford. The room is small, but you have everything what you need. There is a wireless internet connection, not really fast but not too slow. The B&B is situated in a quiet area.
