First let me say that my title is very complimentary. Your average transport cafe serves better food than this hotel, so it is a good job that the rooms were fit for purpose. I didn't book this hotel myself, but trusted my businesses hotel booking service. I will know better and check in more detail before accepting their booking in...

I really am not one to complain but I struggle to find any positives regarding our experience of Christmas Day dinner. Initially it was advertised that we were to be greeted in the foyer with a glass of mulled wine. In reality we were huddled into a bar area like a herd of cattle with no greeting or mulled wine...

We came here for Christmas dinner on recommendation (what a mistake) We were greeted by a room full of guests struggling to find room to get a drink from the 1 bar and 2 barmen. For a room full of people more then 2 should have been serving! Ideally we should have been seated at our table with table service...

Stayed here on Christmas Eve. The hotel itself is pretty old and run down. HOWEVER we were thoroughly happy with our room. we had a lovely sized room and comfy bed with good view of the lake out the back of the bedroom. which i loved myself. We had a average dinner, wasn't anything wow. I would suggest that next...

Thank you for your review of the Inn on the Lake and I am pleased to hear that your stay was pleasant. I will definitely take on board your comments about having Eastenders on and perhaps change to something more festive! Unfortunately we are very isolated as a hotel and while our internet has the fastest speeds possible in the...

Having looked forward to the New Year's Eve Gala of a 7-course meal and entertainment costing £85 per ticket, we were extremely disappointed when the so-called 'Rat Pack' tribute act came on. Having seen the show in London and being big fans of that type of music, this was nothing like the Rat Pack more like a pub singer crooning...

Thank you for your review. I feel I cannot comment on these facts as we have had exceptionally good comments about our 8 course New Year's Eve gala dinner. The tribute to the Rat Pack was performed by a solo artist and they did sing many of their songs including a few extra songs too. If you wish to discuss...

Thank you for your review. Your comments are not really with any explanation and we have had exceptionally good comments about our 8 course New Year's Eve gala dinner. The tribute to the Rat Pack was indeed sung by a solo artist and sung many songs from all of the Rat Pack and did throw in a few extra songs...

Sadly the place looks like it's not really been refurbished for many years. The double room we stayed in had a great view of the lake but the mould surrounding the window kinda took the shine off the view. The decor and furniture are stained green pine and really could do with a makeover. The walls were paper thin and...

We were staying here for one night as part of a theatre weekend break. The surroundings were lovely and the food was OK. However when we arrived we were given the keys to the wrong room, we walked in on another guest which was very awkward and then give a room on the ground floor which stank of smoke! I...

Booked here for Christmas Lunch - unfortunately it was quite disappointing. Arrived at 11.45 expecting mulled wine - there was none. Invited into dining hall at 12.30. Decorated nicely but felt like a school canteen. We'd ordered prior to day and food was quick to come out however had to order drinks at bar despite already sitting down to eat,...

My husband and I stayed for two nights for business meetings and our say was okay... At a push. Our room was lovely and large and had a fantastic view of the lake. The A2 is right on the doorstep of this hotel but we didn't hear any traffic noise in our room. The walls of the room at paper...
