We booked the Wheldale as we were visiting family and stayed in room 10. The pictures of the room on the website don't do it justice, its much bigger than the image shows. Large bathroom with walk in shower, beautifully decorated and a good comfy bed. They are in the process of renovating the bar downstairs and said that we... More

We booked this hotel last minute to attend a wedding in Pontefract. It was almost suspiciously cheap but reading the previous reviews gave me confidence to book. When you first arrive, it's not a scenic surrounding and the first impression isn't fantastic. However, despite us arriving too early in the day, the owners were incredibly welcoming and offered to look... More

Booked a nights stay in a single room (shared bathroom and toilet) as was in Garforth down the road for two days. On arrival, I was shown to my room and told if I needed anything I just needed to ask. However, I sure didn't require anything regarding the hotel, as it was nothing short of perfect! My room was... I don't think you can fault a place that gives you enough information as to what to expect before you book. This place claims to be a reasonably priced budget option, which is exactly what it is. I paid £25 for a good sized room with breakfast (I left early so couldn't comment on it, though I understand it offered... More

Just stayed a couple of nights here. Perfect for us to visit family. Major refurbishment going on but owners carry on as normal. I would have great difficulty finding something wrong with this hotel really good value for money and owners really can't do enough for you. They take hospitality to a new level Well done Paul and Donna. We... More

I have stayed at this hotel before and have always found the owners and staff to be very friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms have recently been refurbished and the bed was extremely comfortable, The room has a tv, a kettle and a wash-hand basin. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to sleep at nights. Ps.I... More

Stayed here for one night as a single person with a shared bathroom. On entering the pub, the staff were very friendly and showed me to one of the rooms above the pub. The room was very clean, well decorated and had everything that I would need, including a wash basin. There were 2 shared toilet/shower rooms which were both... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night on Sat 23rd May. The hotel is currently undergoing a make over and the recently refurnished bedrooms are delightful and very clean. The room rate includes a continental breakfast which was plentiful but a full English is available for a modest increase. It is within walking distance of the town centre and... More

Looked for somewhere other than a Travelodge for one night stay. Came across this hotel and noticed that there was a reduced price for the day we wanted to stay and there were many positive reviews so booked. As has been said before, first impressions are not very positive but we were very impressed by the quality of the room... More

Booked 1 night here as it was local to an event we were attending, paid £39 for a nice, clean double room above the pub with basic breakfast included (full English was available for small supplement), we arrived at 2 pm and we were shown straight to our room, which was reached by some steep steps (we were aware of...
