Well located just outside the village of Callantsoog. Close to the beach of the North Sea. Lots of free parking space. Easy to find. Rooms are spacious with nice view over the countryside and dunes, but outdated. No desk or table in the room to work on. Shower and toilet in 1 big space with almost no light. paint is peeling off. Tiny flatscreen tv. Kitchen closes very early at 9 pm. Free Wifi is available, however also this hotel is blocking VPN connections, meaning you can’t connect to your company network. Together with the missing desk/table I was happy to leave my room. Taking above into account the price was in line. Officially the hotel is known as a 3 star hotel, but not for me: 2 star max.

The hotel is dated but rooms are large, basic, but beds are comfortable. Good variety for breakfast. We had two suppers at the restaurant and food was delicious. We took a three night cycling package which included a picnic lunch that could feed us for two days! There are tulip fields across from the hotel only a 5 min walk. There are enough cycling circuits to keep someone busy for a few days. Only a 10 min walk to the centre of village and grocery store. We would not hesitate to return to this hotel. Staff at the reception was helpful but not everybody spoke English.

The location is great. 20 minutes from the ferry to Texel. Walking distance from tulips in the spring and sand dunes. Bike trail on the road. Even during a long holiday weekend during tulip season, we didn't find the area crowded at all. Staff were friendly. Plenty of parking across the street. Breakfast wasn't fancy but well presented and a included scrambled eggs and bacon. Room was clean and spacious There were two issues with the room/hotel though - a peculiar smell in the bathroom and spotty internet. Once I was able to stay connected for over an hour; the rest no more than 5-10 minutes. But I'd still recommend or stay there again.

Location - Perfectly distanced to beach and dorp *****
Rooms - Simple but functional, all you need without any fuss *****
Service - Very good team, helpful, friendly and practical *****
Food & Drink - There is a restaurant and a bar, which is very convenient ***
Vibe - It's a sizeable place at the beach for people seeking some activity. Good for weekends and off-sites. Oh and then there is Fenno, the parrot, who effectively runs the place 😃*****
Gripe - The menu and the wine list is a bit limited but there are good alternatives in the village.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was ok, but really nothing special. The hotel is old and you can see that. Unfortunate for us the indoor swimming pool is also not open anymore (we specially booked it for the swimming pool). The rooms were very big, with two nice lounge chairs. If I do not like something, then it is beds on wheels, specially when they are on the wooden floor and not on carpet for example, so the beds were not stable. But the beds slept very well. The shower and bathroom were good (no tub). Also the room was clean. No balcony in our room. Did not eat or drink in the hotel. There are some snack/drinks on our room, but nobody eats that (almost everything was expired). For elderly people or with little children for example, it's quit a walk to the beach. But you can rent bikes or scooters. Staff was friendly. The price is not high and you can see why.

Callantsoog seemed to me to be a rather dated little seaside resort - not exactly throbbing with nightlife, but that may be your kind of thing. This hotel, formerly the Tulip Inn, is a good 15 minute walk from the centre down some residential streets.

It has a reasonable sized pool, and a sauna which costs extra. Restaurant food was good for dinner and there was an okay continental breakfast. Beware of the charge card system - the restaurant would not accpet money for drink at 10pm, they had to be put onto a scribbled "charge card" which was not helpful for those trying to keep a record of how much they were spending and meant a long queue to pay the next morning. The bar was sometimes understaffed as was the reception

Received opinion from the group was that rooms were okay, nothing amazing, but some had balconies facing the car park or the road and the dunes in the distance. As you would expect in the Netherlands, beds were huge and very comfy.

Overall, hard to recommend staying here.

A great hotel for a short stay. Friendly people, big room with nice view and balcony, very good beds and excellent shower. Breakfast is okay. Only negative thing, concerning breakfast: no fresh juice and really bad coffee...

One night stay. Evening dinner was great although some menu items not available. Had steak, and creme brullee which was delicious. They managed to surprise us. The beds were comfy, breakfast was ok and general stay was fine. Not 4 star but ok. Short walk to the dunes and easy access to beach. View of dunes from room was good.

Rooms are clean and spacious enough. The balcony is nice on a sunny evening. Location is perfect just outside the village. At walking distance of the beach and villages nearby sport accommodations.
The restaurant offers free WiFi and believe it or not, it really works ;-) Reception is good.
