Detailed Reviews
Our group was made up of 2 familes. The suites we stayed in where clean, modern ,the beds very comfortable and had a very well equipped kitchenette. The breakfast buffet was great and the lovely waitress had gluten free bread for our daugher each morning. The staff in the restuarant/bar were all so lovely and friendly. We ate dinner one evening in the hotel and the food was very good. Short cycle to the beautiful beach or the other direction to the bustling town of Nes. We were able to book slots in the pool which was great for the children. My only critism is the pool not being very clean. We would stay again and definitely look at other Westcord hotels in the furture.

The most amazing staff, on the telephone, at the reception and in the kitchen with extra dietary requirements. Never experienced that every member of staff is excellent and friendly. Such a wonderful change. Hotel very well situated close to beach. Own swimming pool. Wonderful extensive breakfast and dinner available to order. Brilliant. Also amazingly comfortable beds. So grateful.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here in September 2007. Nice hotel, great service and reasonable rates. I found the staff to be very accommodating and the daily breakfast buffet, although the same every morning, was fantastic.
The only complaint either one of us had was that the hotel only has twin beds. While this is common in Europe, it was particularly troublesome for us due to the fact that the smooth feet of the beds slid easily across the carpet, causing the beds to separate when ever we tried to sleep with them pressed together. Finally we ended up stacking the bottoms (box spring/frame) in one end of the room and sleeping on just the mattresses, which did not slide apart when directly on the floor.
That really is the only negative point that comes to mind when reflecting upon our wonderful stay on this gorgeous and tranquil little island. We looked at other hotels on the island and I think that we made the best choice out of all of them. Aside from the hotels though, there are a great deal of rental cabins/houses as well as some nice camping arrangements. We will go back on our 10th anniversary and most likely rent a house.

We stayed here for New years eve and had the new year's eve package, which I thought was quite expensive, but all holiday packages at every hotel seem to be more expensive this year, so, okay... the disappointing part was that you had to pay extra for everything!
The website mentioned that there's a swimming pool and sauna, but if you want to use the sauna you have to pay extra, and that wasn't mentioned on the website....Maybe we've been spoiled over the years, it's possible...
The receptionist didn't tell us where breakfast was served or how we could obtain everything that was in our package, how new years eve was organized, when we were expected etc. Nothing of that sort, we all had to figure it out ourselves or go back to reception to ask. They had a bit of trouble with smiling to their guests or looking them in the eyes.
It really is a family hotel, so over the holidays: expect lots of kids running around, don't expect too much peace an quietness.
The room was okay, we did find a sock from a previous guest under the bed and they were a bit avaricious with bathproducts etc.: we got 1 of each product during the whole stay, which I thought was a bit meager.
The pillows on the bed were a bit hard, but well, that's of course a matter of opinion and preference.
At the party we did not care for the coupon system, to us it felt like a way to increase prices of drinks. Also: the buffet was a bit unorganized, as if they thought up ways of presenting the food as they went along...
Breakfast was okay, but a bit strange to see the salads from the previous night on the breakfast buffet again...and again: a bit unorganized, nobody to show you to a table and nobody to help you when it seems there are no tables available.
The lobby with fireplace was nice, the bar was fully stocked which was also great. The food was okay, dessert was nice, the baththub was nice as well.
all and all we thought the price for the package was too high for what was offered.

The hotel is located between the towncentre (750 metres) and the beach (750 metres), an easy 10 minutes walk. The room is cleaned everyday. The swimming pool is a bit ageing, but clean. Very easy to rent bikes (9€ per day). The staff speaks German and is willing to answer all your questions, hand out bus timetables etc. Good variation for breakfast (on weekends even Poffertjes).

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Westcord!
We were welcomed with open arms with staff going above and way beyond, after we were escorted off the property across the street (De Berkenhof) by police for our own safety (after we were attached by 4 aggressive Rottweilers). The Westcord staff was super friendly, accommodating and even gave us a great rate even though we were in the middle of the high season. Super staff!! Thank you!
The hotel itself is super clean, great location, wonderful restaurant and very child friendly :)

All you can expect from a 4-star hotel. Comfy bed, good room facilities. No complaints.
Breakfast wasn't included for €160. Had to pay an additional €30. €190 for one night with breakfast. Only in Ameland in the summer I guess. Make sure you book early!

The advantages of the Hotel Noordsee are many. The location is very good. You are 1KM from the beach and less than 1KM from the center of Nes, which is a charming little town with many great restaurants and shops. Furthermore, the amenities at the Hotel Noordsee are better than a lot of competitors. There is a large play area for the kids outside, there is an indoor pool and there is the opportunity to rent bikes from the hotel. The breakfast is also very good. Lastly, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The only complaint we have is the housekeeping schedule. We have a young child who still takes afternoon naps. Each day we would arrive back at our room around 2PM for our daughter's nap and each day the room would still not be cleaned. We essentially spent our four-day stay at Noordsee without a visit from housekeeping. This is the first time we ever had this experience.
