The average age in this restaurant was about 70, meaning perhaps they had a little more time on their hands. The panorama on the terrace was spectacular. The service and the welcome however didnt match the view. We waited 15 mins to even order and were then presented with an adequate amuse bouche, but our Daughter somewhat inexplicably was given... A boutique hotel decorated with love, no fancy stuff but everything you need. We had a corner room with views opening to the south and to the west. In summer fully open windows with the clean fresh mountain air bringing you together with the bells of many cows in the surrounding hills to a peacefull sleep. In the morning the... More

We booked two nights in this very original alp hotel, in fact, it smells like an origin alp hotel, very homely.... The view is...how do I put it.... Like nothing on earth, my god, this is the best view ever. The rooms are original, big and very clean, great beds, good shower and the view is... Now how do I... More

After a beautiful day with family on Rigi, we chose this restaurant for our lunch spot because of its brilliant views and inviting hotel, only to be greeted by what we would describe as poor service and extortionate prices. The food, once it finally arrived, was nice but in our opinion not good enough for the price we paid. It... More

The location, the views, the food. . . it is typisch, locale and period locked. The gasthaus of the travel posters, but in flesh and blood, and 3D. Decor is swiss, comfortable, and timeless, and certainly not 21st century. So, not 5 stars, but is it? We spent an immaculate afternoon and evening "chilling" on the veranda and in the... More

A charming mountain hotel full of pleasant surprises. Lovely, traditional rooms, more than excellent food and the views are to die for. Wake up in the morning and see the alpine panorama at first light. Then go down and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Spend the day walking in splendid mountain scenery and finish the day with a delicious dinner. No... More

This charming hotel has some of the best views imaginable especially on the upper floors. We had a two-room apartment with a balcony. Stunning views. Room was very warm and we had to open the window sometime. The Wifi is free but not reliable at all. The breakfast room is a real treat. You will want to take some photos... More

This is our second visit to Rigi Kaltbad and where else do you stay than with Willy and Dorly at Hotel Bergsonne? (see my prevous review from 2012... It's still all true). In addition to everything I said from the last review, we were given an amazing room. If you have 3 or 4 people in your party, get room... More

Paradise. We have been returning to Hotel Bergsonne annually for over 20 years, and have been recommending it whenever a friend asks: " we have just three days in Switzerland , what do you recommend ? " We originally discovered this hidden away gem when it was a member of Relais du Silence. It is very quiet, and like other... More

This charming old hotel is situated on the charming and historical mountain Rigi near Lucerne, Switzerland. At ca. 1500 meters above sealevel t is high enough to afford spectacular views of the Alps and Lake Lucerne below. Especially if it is foggy in the valley this makes of a pittoresque "sea of clouds" below you. The rooms are charming and... More
