I have just returned from spending 10 days at this holiday. It was a budget price and was actually better than I expected . I had read the previous reviews and literally kept my beady eyes open for these mentioned refugees and honestly I don’t know where they were !!.
It is outdated but it was expected for the amount paid .
PROS
The food my husband and I really enjoyed , we were expecting to have to eat out but did not need to once. There was plenty of choice at every meal time . The tables were always made up , and there were not big queues . It’s true food was labelled only with chicken / beef etc and if you have food allergies it would be hard to eat here . It’s true the food could be hotter but not always . On the whole I recommend eating here .
Location great as has been said previously.
Standard of cleaning I felt was great. Our room was cleaned daily.
Free air con and free Wi-Fi
Road train a minute walk from hotel was great to get into Blanes ( don’t forget the market on Monday morning) and to visit the gardens.
Reception and all staff we found to be helpful.
Bed was OK.

Cons
The beach is gritty , the sea on some days was tricky to get in and out of due to the strong waves . Not the best sea if you have kids I would imagine.
Walls are thin.
There is only one plug socket ( take an extension lead).
We didn’t really want nightlife but if you do you would be disappointed.

Very nice hotel with spectacular roomview on the sea. The people at the hotel are very friendly and helpful we made friends with some of them in the restaurant and reception. The hotel is in walking distance to the beach. We had a very enjoyable experience and certainly think to go back in the future

Hotel is lovely despite poor reviews on here. Room was small but adequate with balcony. There was only one plug socket so maybe take an adapter.
Staff were all pleasant and helpful
Hotel has 2 pools both quite small and a jaccuzi. The sun doesnt come round the pools all day so have to judge when to be at what pool foir best rays. A larger terraced area on first floor with lots of sunbeds and artificial grass. the food was plentiuful and varied, lots of options for both breakfast and dinner. always looked frresh and well presented. The area also was very nice with a few shops and touristy things. A short walk to the beach which went on for miles. All in all I would go to this hotel again without hesitation.

Firstly the positives, staff are fine, very close to the beach, close to bars/restaurants and that's about it.

This hotel failed to mention that during our booking period that they are having renovations carried out so there was no relaxing days by their main pool (the only one that gets the sun) unless you enjoy the sound of grinders, and hammer drills. The scaffolding was not sheeted off so the debri was falling down onto the patio around the pool, I even observed people moving along their balconies to avoid being hit by the falling debris as it ricocheted of the scaffolding. The noise at times was just horrendous.

The room in fairness was as pictured but needs updating. Only two sockets one of which is in the bathroom. The air conditioner socket hangs off the wall, the remote control did not work so reception gave us new batteries which made it work for half an hour and that was it. When the remote did work it did not control the air conditioner so your only options are on with full cooling and high speed fan which was the equivalent to listening to a HGV fridge unit all night, the other option is off but only by risking electric shock by unplugging the unit from the dangling socket, this action of unplugging and plugging in often tripped the circuit breaker.

The room had a TV but did not come with a remote maybe you have to ask reception but we didn't need a TV. I understand it is Spanish channels only.

Don't bother hiring the safe, put your valuables under the bed as the cleaners do not go there.

You get one pillow each which has the thickness of a pancake so you might want to ask reception for more.

Don't put the card out on your door asking for the room to be made great again as the cleaners just see the card and don't clean your room. If you put no card out your room will be cleaned.

Food is of personal opinions but to us we did not like it. Some of it had nice flavours but the cheapest ingredients are used (the stuff the butchers throw away) so your pork and lamb dishes are full of fat, gristle and bone, runner beans were stringy. The meals were fairly similar every day so we ended up going out for breakfast and evening meal, so the money we paid for our meals was a waste.

We did hear one couple talking to someone and their comment was if you are bad you will get sent to Checkin where you will be sentenced to two weeks all inclusive and you have to eat only the food they provide.

There is no tennis court as stated, there is no crazy golf course as stated, the nearest one is around the corner buried under 3 feet of weeds, table tennis and pool tables are ok, the children's play area is a complete mess and unsafe with filthy play items and
broken plastic benches for you and your little ones to cut yourselves on.

Not one night was there any entertainment.

If you are staying here in the near future just use it as a base to lay your head and shower, go to the beach to relax and use the local
restaurants. There is a children's play area on the sea front 5 mins from the hotel.

I really don't understand the bad reviews. For the price paid we received more than we aspect. From the housekeeping to the restaurant, every member of staff was so kind and helpful. The food is absolutely amazing with plenty of choices. Thank you, and we will definitely recommend you. We'll done!!!

This holiday was booked in 2019 when hotel was called Boix Mar, with good reviews. Due to covid trip was reappointed. After seeing a negative review in 2021 we were slightly concerned.
Arrived at the hotel just gone midnight. Initial thoughts were it looked welcoming, clean and modern in reception, and worries were put aside… for a few minutes!
There were no staff at reception. Myself and my partner spent approx 45 minutes wandering about the hotel calling for staff.. including, sadly, entering the restaurant and kitchen. The restaurant still had the remains of the previous evenings meals and dirty plates on the tables.
Eventually a dishevelled member of staff appeared from no where, followed by a strong smell of alcohol. Said person struggled to photo copy our passports, spent 20+ minutes in conversation with someone on the phone, before giving us a room key (which on looking at later was in someone else’s name).
We were by now very tired and keen to get to our room.
As soon as we got out of the lift my heart sank further. Hallways upstairs in desperate need of attention, as was our room, which was dated, and tatty. The mattresses on bed was thin and hard with a single flat pillow. The balcony was small, rusty and uninviting.
After less than an hour we were looking at booking another hotel for the next day. Despite being so tired, due to bed being so uncomfortable and the walls paper thin to the point we could not only hear other guests in room talking, but also going to the toilet, and could feel the vibrations of upstairs air con, we didn’t get much sleep!
Leaving the hotel just before sunrise and sitting on the beautiful beach a few minutes walk away, my holiday mood improved.
We went back to the hotel to complain and advise them that we would be checking out, and wanted a refund for the week, which later the following day was agreed via our booking agents, which we were grateful for, however the hotel did charge us for two nights plus full board, despite us only being there a few hours and not eating or drinking a thing, which made it a rather expensive few hours in a hotel not worth the money.

Dont mind refugees everywhere, but disgusting, dirty pool spoiled my holiday. Coudnt swim in the sea because am pregnant and the waves where quite strong, so thought about hotel pool :( food was lovely, just sometimes undercooked, like burgers for example. One perfect, one undercooked. Recepction staff were friendly and helpfull. Rooms cleaned everyday, i mean not the greatest but bearable. To be fair I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone

Went there 2nd September 2022 and stayed a week. It was good a nice hotel me and my boyfriend stayed the location is hood next to beach and near town and loads of shops every corner. Food was okay we got breakfast and dinner and it was okay but was horrible but was simple. Overall it was a good stay and enjoye the time staff was very helpful and also it is about 20 minute walk to train I think cannot remember. But it was a good stay. Also just to note when we were there they did have Ukrainian refugees which was nice to know as I am Ukrainian and you will find kids sitting in the lounge but are behaved

Average hotel very close to the beach, also pebbles
Good and plentiful food, expensive wine and in fact no one took it. Clean rooms, friendly staff. The thing you can't tolerate is that around there they still haven't figured out that air conditioning hurts! With the good coastal climate then... it wouldn't even be necessary. Ask to turn it down, they do, but reluctantly. Cold and dirty pool and wirpool water. Result, a nice cold with guaranteed cough.
