I was shocked!!!! It’s 2021 and the most disgusting form of racism was demonstrated to me and 2 friend when checking in. The lady at the counter literally said: “your kind of people (Arab) should go. Happily we have made a video and will be taking some legal steps since this is unacceptable. Please support the stand against racism and do not book at this hotel.

The staff all rude apart from bar man at pool bar. When checking out there was a particularly unpleasant larger lady behind the desk who threw our passports at us and snatched the key back. Thankfully we encountered no problems during our stay but I fear that if we had, the staff would’ve been reluctant to help. All very arrogant and look e down on us. Pool closed for two days, granted it was poor weather on one of the days but the other perfectly fine. On the days it was open it opened an hour late. Our room had a balcony which faced a brick wall- very unpleasant. Check out is 10am which is earlier than usual in other hotels I’ve stayed in. Makes it an incredibly long day if you aren’t flying until late. Again, staff reluctant to make it more comfortable for you by keeping your suitcases etc. No hair dryer, fridge or air con.l in rooms. You can’t rent one from reception either. Only one plug socket above your bed. Didn’t allow ample space for charging phones, tablets and hair straighteners etc. Resort seems to be more orientated around older people. Very quiet place with very few activities etc. Hotel bar is dire. On a plus, situated close to train station to commute into Barcelona. Takes about an hour on train. All in all, it serves the purpose of a cheap late summer getaway but won’t be returning simply as the staff in this hotel made it unpleasant for us. Calella is very behind the times and not very welcoming on the whole.

Absolutely loved it here! Don’t understand all the negative reviews, especially people complaining that the receptionists don’t speak much english? I personally don’t visit another country assuming everyone to speak my language. The pool on the rooftop was beautiful and the bar (also inside) very cheap! I’m 18 and stayed with a friend, both loved our stay. With the beach a 5 min walk away and the clubbing area 10 min walk it’s all so convenient. Calella is such a lovely place and would 100% recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a cheap place to stay. Everything very clean, only negative is no air con but we made do. Also to note there is a 99cent tax charge per night but we didn’t sweat that. Hope this was helpful to anyone considering visiting.

Receptionist very rude and curt on arrival only accepts cash. Charge for everything that is usually complimentary not even wifi in public areas. Breakfast awful cold meats, cheese breads in sealed bags that you can’t cut, spreads that taste off, marmalade and strawberry jam taste the same. Juice is flavoured water I have had better squash, cereal is like eating cardboard and tasteless coffee/tea out of machine is cold. No toaster or hot food at all just a few stale croissants. I have travelled around and been to some hotels and had some bad cuisine but how they can pass this off as breakfast is a disgrace. To top it off breakfast is fine Love you lots xxxxxxx from 8 till 9.30 and they start removing everything at 9.25. The rooms are standard and what I expect apart from the only plug socket being above your head over the bed, no air con though you can hire a fan if you want to pay for it and plug it in above your head. All in all I would avoid at all costs.

Me an my partner stayed at the hotel for 10 nights 15th July to the 25th of July, after reading the horrific reviews we certainly were not looking forward to staying but FACT of the matter is people only come onto leave a review if they’ve had a bad stay which is leaving a really unfair opinion on the hotel. Bar staff were excellent, there were a couple who worked the bar down stairs an upstairs they couldn’t help enough especially the guy, Always made conversation with me an my partner went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and help us enjoy our stay. YES there were signs saying you couldn’t take your own food An drink to the pool but everyone who has left bad reviews on that need to remember at the end of the day it’s a business an they have to make money! Reception staff weren’t the best An struggled a great deal with Language barriers, but as you get to no them the more you realise they are nice people. Rooms are very dated but that’s there theme as each room was the same from what we seen, main thing is the rooms were clean. Only thing we didn’t agree with was having to pay an extra 3 Euro fee per night for a fan when in a hot country there should be air conditioning. As for WiFi yes most places have free WiFi this day an age but is that really a negative thing I myself am 22 years of age An have a lot of social media but am on holiday I wasn’t interested about WiFi I was there to relax on holiday. Overall had a really good 10 day stay at this hotel so don’t believe everything you read guys.

Cheap but still not worth the price. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff, especially the receptionist acts like she hates to deal with the customers. Their advertised air conditioning (which one has to pay extra for) is only a fan witch has to pe plugged in at the only power outlet at the head of the bed. Wifi (which one has to pay even more for) is a single user (the kids could not be online at the same time as me). The rooms/halls ar small and narrow and is in desperate need of refurbishment. The bar and dining areaIt looks like it has been left alone sins the early 80's. Everything was kind of cleen, but there are stains on the seats of the chairs, on the pictures at the wall, cracked tiles in the bathroom, and the power outlets was so old they did the power plugs fell out many times a day. My advice; spend the extra cash you have to pay for AC, ice, drinking water with the breakfast/lunch/dinner, Wifi, safe and so on to find a better place to stay.

I came with friends, pretty big group. I thought it's cheep so that's what mattered. And I'd not bother complaining, but I've just had enough. Starting from the beginning. There is no AC in the hotel which can be a pain in the summer. Breakfast is exactly the same every day, that's boring, but I wouldn't complain about that either. The owner checks carefully if you don't take food with you outside (which is common) and whole area is stickered with warnings ⚠ Wi-Fi costs 5£ PER D A Y! nowadays, when internet is everywhere...? Fridge in the room: 3£ per day, and if you want to get some ice from the bar, you need to get the whole bag for 1£. If you ask bar tender if you can keep the ice at the bar, he'll refuse of course. Use how much you want and the rest to the toilet, I've been told. I'm really not a complainer, but that was just too much. Besides that, the cleaning ladies use too much domestos and it stinks strongly. I don't recomend this place. They said it's family run, but it won't last long if they treat their guests like that. I honestly would pay 40% more if I knew...

I would not send my worst enemy to this hotel if that’s what you can call it, I would say hostels are better, me and my husband stayed for a week for our anniversary , we booked in on 27/06/18 and the problems started straight away, the reception staff are rude and look miserable and don’t really care about guest at all. Our room was like a sauna no air at all, you couldn’t breath in there. You can hire a fan for €3 per day but it just blows around the hot air, we had to have balcony door open all the time which caused another problem , we were on top floor and a local teenager had climbed up and was on the balcony’s stealing items, he stole from us , I see him when we came in and he run and climbed down, we reported this to reception but she didn’t care less , the following day the girls in the room next to us were laying down in the afternoon and the same teenager went into there room and stole a mobile but hotel staff didn’t care and nothing done , the rooms are so small , the toilet room was so small you had to walk sideways to get past sink to get to toilet, pool bar expensive but pool is ok and the only thing I can say nice about whole place, went to restaurant once and it was vile , waisted €18 on food and also you have to pay for any drink you have in there, you go in and you are herded like cattle to table and then watched all the time, the staff were very rude in restaurant and I wouldn’t feed my dogs what they served us. The hotel is very noisy at night , I heard a lady saying to the manager that she was kept up until 5am by some drunk Germans in there balcony and the manger replied if you don’t like it you shouldn’t have booked a 2 star hotel , she told her book a different hotel next time , avoid at all cost o
