the location is really good but unless you are prepared to pay more for a better room do not make the mistake to go there. I have been there with my husband and young daughter and absolutely hated the room we had. we have complaint and mentioned to the reception that those rooms should be only used for storage, but we were told that unless we pay them more money they can not help. we booked the hotel with teletext and since then we have stopped using teletext holidays because they allowed them to place us in such a room although I had a baby with me and refused to help me when I told them about it. They said that I should sort it out the hotel and the hotel said that unless I pay more they can not help I have travelled. I have been there in 2017 or 2018 . i do hope that since then they have stopped selling interior rooms.

Have not stayed here, or eaten here. Went to look at the buffet lunch. Decided not to go as it was just burgers, nuggets, fish, salad, chips. Did not look appetising so went to The Pineda Wok. Review for this on TA.

Just back from staying at the Mont-Rosa hotel in Calella. This hotel is in the perfect location a stone's throw from the beach and it's a two minute walk into the centre. There is an excellent selection of bars and restaurants in Calella and it comes to life of an evening. We had an exterior room which had a great sea view with a large balcony along with a flat screen tv, the interior rooms I wouldn't bother with! The hotel itself is very dated, looks like it was last decorated in the 1970's! We stayed full board but ate out alot as the food was poor, breakfast you could have cold ham cheese with croissants or bread along with jam. If you wanted something hot you only had three choices of hotdog sausages, scrambled egg which was mashed with chips which looked disgusting and spring rolls yes I did say spring rolls! We mainly had the cold selection as it was edible or toast and jam. Lunch and dinner you had the selection of pork, chicken, beef and fish served with chips or salad which wasnt too bad but boring after a couple of days. Drinks came free with breakfast but you have to pay for drinks with lunch and dinner (even water) so we took our own water in. We found the staff at the hotel rude, we were always polite but they didn't want to know and hardly ever replied when spoken to! Calella is a lovely place with a good beach but we wont be returning to this hotel, we have stayed at other hotels in this area that are far better value for money and at best this is a two star hotel.

The hotel receptionists were all extremely helpful when needing directions to pharmacy, markets etc. But the beds were dirty I got bitten badly many times during the week despite change in linen, this did not help Food was good on most days, I loved the fish, battered vegetables, salad But no water available to drink at lunch times or dinner unless you pay for it. Callela itself offers a great beach and great weather and a great Wednesday market which the tram or mini train goes to which is a short ride. Other things like electric bikes cost from 25euro for an hour if I remember correctly not a great looking area of Spain!

The best advantage of this hotel is location. Close to the train station and to the bus stops, absolute proximity to the beach and walking distance to the centre of the town. The facilities in the bathroom are relatively new and maintained. The beach in Calella is amazing by the way. List of quirks is significantly longer: - very poor staff performance (first they promised free transfer service but then ignored any follow ups, never replied to any “good morning”, reluctance to advise on any interesting events in the town for the National Day of Catalunya). Room Cleaning quality is very low. - no hair dryer in the room - no iron, not even one in the whole hotel - towels are changed every day but still look very old and not fresh - had to ask separately for tv remote at the reception - Air-conditioning control was possible only from the reception - the windows are not hermetic (when raining outside, water gets into the room) - breakfast is indeed continental as advertised but kinda slobby - no bottled water in the room

!! I recommend anyone to steer well clear of booking this hotel. I just stayed there for a week with my son and it has to be one of the worst hotels I’ve ever had the misfortune to stay in. We got there just before midnight after making our way through a crowd of drunk underage kids loitering outside the doors as there is a bar and disco next door we were greeted by the receptionist to check in. I explained that I’d originally booked an interior room but had emailed several times to change the booking to either a sea or mountain view but nobody replied. I was abruptly told to speak to the manager in the morning and the was it end of. Now the room!!! What a state two single beds that must have came from the day the hotel was built smelt like it too. The interior room was exactly what it said one window and view into the room across which was 10 feet away if your lucky so not very private at all. People coming and going at all hours and banging the horrible wooden room doors which wouldn’t have looked out of place in medieval castle made sleeping impossible. Breakfast if that’s what you call it was am supposed to be “continental” I would say more like “comical” and that’s being generous. Three trays of cold meat, cheese, bread, fruit and iffy looking yoghurt didn’t fill me with joy so we ate out all the time rather than risk it. I’d definitely steer clear of here for many a reason as I’ve mentioned but to check out at 10am and have your personal belongings and cases put in an unlocked room, people wandering in and out as the please raised my fears further to the don’t care attitude of the staff in the hotel. The place needs a MAJOR refurbished or returned back to the museum it’s been loaned from. In general steer clear of here as sleeping on the beach was a better option at one point. By the way I never got an answer to why nobody replied to my emails or sense out the manager about moving rooms. Book at your peril as you will be disappointed when you see what your paying for

At the moment we are in the hotel. My friend had her handbag stolen from the restaurant yesterday morning at breakfast. .we reported it to reception and they said go to the police We asked to speak with the management but this was refused. They did however move us room because our room key was in her bag We reported to police and was informed by them that 2 handbags had been stolen the day before? Why did the staff inform geusts to be on their guard? We asked again to speak with the management to ask why security had not been tightened after the first 2 but yet again they will not meet with us We have now been told by reception staff that the hotel will be full of cameras for next year? Too late for my friend with her bank card money and phone gone

I had read the reviews before we went but after I had already booked and so I was a little apprehensive. However we didn’t find our stay anywhere near as bad as some reviews. For us this was a budget mini break for my sons birthday as we had booked tour tickets for camp Nou and wanted a few beach days. Yes the hotel and rooms are dated, there is no evening entertainment and the pool is on the small side. There is a bar area and pizza oven that isn’t in use (not sure why) but think this would make a nice addition to the facilities. We as a family are happy to book a 3 star hotel knowing we won’t be spending much time at the hotel and with it only being a 3 day break. Our room was on the front and so we had a balcony and sea view, it was cleaned daily and fresh towels each day. The location is great being on the beach front and walking distance to bar/ restaurants and the train station which is what we need for a day trip to Barcelona. We booked half board as we knew we would be out during the day. Not a great deal of choice for breakfast and random some mornings with spring rolls and chips on offer. Bread, pastries and fresh fruit daily more a continental breakfast menu. The evening meal their was a choice of two or three meats/poultry a veg option and a carb so a meal could be put together. Soup and salad options also. It wasn’t the best food we have had for our money but we didn’t starve either. For a 3 day stay, HB we were more than happy with what we had payed. This isn’t a hotel for a weekly stay with little ones wanting a large pool, entertainment and vast food choices.

We booked this as a budget 3 night break a way, I generally don’t take notice of bad reviews as I’m not too fussy and people are exaggerate however this is a very poor standard 3 star hotel. The hotel is dirty and very out dated, the staff try and be helpful but their English is limited. The rooms are the worst I have ever been in, it is best described as a prison cell. We had 2 separate beds but we pushed them together even though they were different sizes, there were stains on the walls, on the bed sheets and on the towels, everywhere was just extremely old and dirty. X1 tv which had 1 English Channel, air con was okay, that is all that is provided. The pool area is also very uncomfortable and grim, we spent roughly 10 minutes there and that was all. The pool was murky and dirty, the sunbeds are all jammed together, it looked like a foreign prison yard abroad. The best part was the location, cheap shops, and restaurants all around which are all good price, the train station is a 10-15 minute walk and have trains to Barcelona which is really handy. If you’re looking for a budget hotel i still wouldn’t advise here.
