This hotel is not a 4* - they don't provide towels so you need to take your own - the hotel is a family hotel but you are not allowed inflatables or balls in the pool - the all inclusive system is cards not the usual wristbands its really hard work and an awful system!! You have to queue to take your empty glasses back to get your cards back or you won't be able to get anymore drinks so you spend a lot of time queuing! - the bar staff (Pedro) is particularly rude and should not be working in hospitality - the drinks are limited you only get 1 cocktail that they choose for the day. When we stayed it was the same for 3 of the 6 days! - there are no snacks or ice creams throughout the day only at meal times unless you want a plate of ready salted crisps - the sun does not hit the pool till midday so its shaded and very cold - the beaches in Calella are Pebble beaches not sandy ones. -the restaurant, meals are good, basic, but always tepid / cold they need heaters on them. - rooms are spacious and clean - calella Town is lovely and a short walk from hotel. - The hotel staff speak minimal English and we found most people quite rude. - the entertainment at night is Spanish, not English so if its a quiz night for example it's all in Spainsh. Overall not a 4* and not for the English. Would not go back & would not recommend this hotel!

Stayed for 5 nights AI. Personally I wouldn't return to this hotel for multiple reasons. All inclusive system is just odd. Cards that are like gold for drinks, 2 cards issued per person so can only get a maximum of 2 at any point... and literally no brands included in any of this. When bar staffed asked to advise most of the time didn't want to help & grunted extra!! I must mention Pedro (bartender) has the worst customer service skills I've ever known & was extremely rude every time he served my family or myself. If you don't wish to work with the public then don't work in hospitality. I felt the lack of control over children round the pool from parents was bizarre. Toddlers 2 years old in the pool and walking around with no family near. On 3 separate occasions I had to scoop babies/children who had fallen in the water & couldn't get back up... parents no where to be seen!! Multiple young ones in the water with no nappy, we observed the same little girl stand on the steps & urinate openly. Another little girl who again wasn't being watched kept coming in-between our sunbeds to take things, even pens out of my mother's bag stood at the end of one of sunbed & urinated in my little girls shoes, it was disgusting & when this happened the mother/family of this little girl was over the other side of the pool on her iPhone, the same little one then decided to go to another family and started eating their food, only when the family noticed did the mother/family member go and collect her. The pool area other than this was OK, very very slippy & cold because it doesn't get any sun until at least 11/12pm so all morning in the shade. Other than this the rooms were acceptable & clean, when we requested more pillows reception were extremely quick to help which was appreciated. Food was also fairly good (other than unaccompanied children walking round touching things) but evening meal was soooo late... startinh time 8.30pm. This really needs to be reviewed especially when the family has small children. Although we had this hotel as part of a cheap deal I unfortunately wouldn't return but Calella is very nice & we would come back.

Our stay at Calella Palace was a really good experience. Hotel is situated in a close neighborhood of the city center, with many restaurants, cafes, supermarkets or high street with many local shops. The Calella Palace Hotel is located within a 5-10 minutes walk to the beautiful public beach. Firstly I was quite stressed that the hotel doesn’t have a private beach with its own sanitary infrastructure, but I must say that public beaches in Spain are really clean. We had a room situated on the second floor with a pool view, and it was really nice. Our room and bathroom were clean. Cleaning services cleaned it up and changed the towels carefully every day. Room was equipped with two comfortable large beds, wardrobe, dresser and two night stands. Air con works properly. We had a half board including breakfasts and dinners. Food was tasty and there were available spacious meals to choose e.g. different kinds of meats with seafood, veggie or vegan options. I think that everybody could find something delicious. Waiters were nice and polite. Calella Palace has two pools - one destined for kids and second for the adults. They were nice but the water should be a little bit warmer. Sometimes it was really cold. The animation team provided some kind of integration plays such aqua aerobic or swimming competitions to spice up our stay. I really appreciated that. But for me music at the pool could play all day. I totally recommend staying at HTop Calella Palace hotel. It was a really nice place.

We didn’t choose this hotel on the beach sent us here because our hotel was closed. However we are glad they picked this one , we had a great time ,was really worried about the lock down and whether it would be safe. Well it was they had everything in place all the staff wore masks and made sure customers did . Room was clean and food was good with the chefs wearing masks even behind a screen . Best bit was the sunroof for sunbathing it was adults only .
