Cannot rate this place high enough. Beautiful luxury spacious villa with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Heated private pool and jacuzzi are a bonus. Well stocked and reasonably priced supermarket 250m away. Staff very helpful .Located within the Anfi Tauro Golf complex - price included unlimited golf - free shuttle bus service during the day from Anfi Emerald to Anfi Del Mar. Bins emptied daily, midweek change of linen and pool clean ensure the villa stays beautifully clean. Wonderful. Look forward to returning.

We booked two weeks over Easter 2013 via http://www.taurogolfvillas.com who I think are a German travel agent. I found them a little difficult to deal with through the booking and payment process. Maybe it was the language barrier but I would not recommend. That said things ultimately went without problems and our reservation was in order when we arrived, although surprised to find we could check in until 4pm.
These villas are build by Anfi and on the Anfi Tauro golf complex that includes Anfi Emerald club but they sell them freehold so you will find them let by a variety of places including owners direct.
Make no mistake these are luxurious villas. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here. The golf course in the complex is championship standard (see reviews on this site). Our boys (11 and 7) spent ours playing the pool in the glorious sunshine. Worth paying extra for pool heating. Internet also extra and provided via 3G dongle.
Spar onsite and possible to use facilities of Emerald Club including restaurant. The resort has been quiet during our visit and we have enjoyed that. For the non golfer there is not much to do but relax by the pool but where's the problem with that?
You can walk to the beach at Puerto Rico but for some of it you'd be on the hard shoulder of the coast road.
Cleaned on Tuesdays and bins changed daily. All the facilities you need (washing machine and tumble drier in the basement).
Thoroughly recommended.

Pros - large clean air conditioned villa Private pool area En-suites to every room Large kitchen and living area Close to road links for sightseeing Pretty and clean complex.
Cons - Wi-Fi wasn’t working when we arrived late at night. Had to wait until the next afternoon until it was fixed. Lady on reception wasn’t the best for customer service - had to push to get an engineer to come out. Lots of aspects in the villa weren’t working - lamps next to beds, aircon in master suite. Power cuts every time we used to oven to cook - every 6-8 mins the power went in the villa and the fuse had tripped. No written information inside villa for guests on the appliances or for check out time. Weren’t told check out time when we checked in late at night at the main hotel reception either. So had cleaners banging on the door at 10am We had nearly packed but it was a mad rush to get finished and out which could have been avoided. No refreshments and no shops open when our flight was later in the day meaning we were late to arrive. So went to bed hungry. Again Villa information when one is tired with kids to look after would have been good.
Expected everything to work in the Villa for the cost of the holiday.
Stand alone aircon unit was in master bedroom but was noisy and required the external door open all night to allow the hot air tube to escape. This meant we had an issue with mosquitoes keeping us awake despite coming prepared with plug ins and sprays!

My Husband and Stepson wanted a golfing holiday, and I on the other hand wanted the sun and a total relax and this is what we all got from this holiday. We have only just got back to the UK after ten wonderful days. From the time we booked the villa to the time we left we had no problems. The villa is superb, so clean and you could not ask for anything better, everyday they came to empty the bins and during our stay the maid came to change all our bed linen and towels which was not expected but lovely. My husband said it was the best Golf course he has ever played on and all the staff in the Golf shop and around were helpful and him and my stepson were blown away by the course. We truly did have such a wonderful time, our villa was Number 24 and so peaceful and relaxing we even ate in most of the time and just sat outside with a chilled glass of wine and a beer it was just what we all wanted and needed. The staff at reception were lovely, our flight was not until 8pm but they allowed us to stay in the villa until such time we needed to leave for the airport, normal check out is 10am, obviously this probably could not happen if they were really busy but it was a nice gesture and very much appreciated.
The Wifi is really excellent in the villa, I know someone did say it wasn't but we had no problems whatsoever.
Thank you to all the staff from the Golf course to the reception and the cleaning staff you should be very proud of yourselves for giving us a holiday to remember thank you.

We stayed here as a family of 5 for 9 nights and first impressions were good. Nice spacious villa and all the amnenties you need. We arrived late so had to check in at the hotel reception, who wasn't very forthcoming with information about the area. There were a few problems which were fixed straight away the second day by maintenance staff. However we only had one bed change for the 9 days, although I would suggest ringing reception and asking for more. There was a spar shop no more than 5 mins walk which had all you need. Although their meat section wasn't great. Taxi from the villa to Puerto rico was 5€. Overall a very spacious and clean villa, great value however they are a bit lax on the cleaning front and hotel staff don't seem to care because you are not staying in the hotel. Would recommend staying here for a relaxing break away.

This has been without doubt a luxury holiday, the villas are absolutely amazing !! Everything you need is provided, towels / pool towels even dishwasher tablets !! I'm not going to say too much about them as we are now hooked on Anfi Opal and already rebooked for next year, don't want too any people booking so we can't get in for future holidays. Staff are first class and can't do enough for you. Pool, jacuzzi, 3 ensuite bedrooms huge living/dining area.
Amazing place.....

Stunning villa! Had everything you could possibly want/need (except wifi, had to pay extra for that) Maid service was good We stayed for three nights before going to Anfi Del Mar! 3 nights was enough, the place is very quiet, no people watching to do, no where really that we found to walk to! Depends what you want from a holiday, it's perfect for completely chilling out!

We have been members of the Anfi group for many years but this was our first stay in Anfi Opal. The villas are fabulous and large. We had a three bedroom one and each bedroom had an en-suite - a real bonus with four teenagers! The kitchen was fantastic with two fridge freezers (not sure why) but I didn't think it was quite as well equipped as in other Anfi resorts although it was nice to have a full sized dishwasher rather than the mini one in other Anfi properties. There is a reasonably sized outside space with a small pool however we usually preferred to walk up the hill to Anfi Emerald and use the large pool there (strictly speaking you are not supposed to but nobody ever challenged us) so that the kids had more room and we could people watch!
Anfi Tauro is isolated and although there is a spa shop locally and a restaurant that is all there is apart from Emerald. The nearest bus stop is a long walk away across the golf course and over dry dusty scrub. If only going locally we used taxis which worked out at the same price as the bus fares and avoided the walk. We know Gran Canaria well and love it which is why we return year after year but we would not go back to Tauro, luxurious though it is. We prefer the buzz and atmosphere of Anfi del Mar and found Tauro too far away from everything. There is a courtesy bus to Anfi del Mar and we found ourselves on this fairly regularly.
I am pleased we tried the villa and it certainly was a five star experience and if you love solitude and silence then it is for you. For us, it was just that bit too quiet!

The apartments are very well furnished complete with al items required for a nice holiday. The restaurant having really a very good and nice manager could be better but as with the other anfi restaurants a wee bit overpriced. Nevertheless you will not find a more luxious resort in Gran Canaria

No walking outside the Anfi Opal complex isn't possible l think as there are a few main roads just outside the complex entrance and no real footpaths. We did see a few people walking but over tracks and scrubland. We drove to Amadores Beach which is less than 5 minutes by car and took the coastal walk to Puerto Rico from there which is about 20-30 minutes one way. If you are considering not hiring a car l think to stay here you need one or use taxis. Puerto Rico by car is about 10 minutes away. The roads are excellent of a high standard. Hope this helps.
