The Protur Biomar Gran Hotel and Spar has recently changed its name to Tui Sensatori Biomar due to a brand new hotel being built close by and will merge as one. I believe it will undergo a refurbishment as well. Can anyone tell me when this refurbishment take place, because Tui has it advertised now. Also Sa Coma, Majorca has a Lot of Protur hotels and if staying at the Biomar as all inclusive are you entitled to drink free at any one of them?
Stayed here with my husband for a 4 night break end of September. Lovely relaxed feeling, loved the adult pool and bikes out the front for a quick ride to the beach! Breakfast and dinner buffet was great plenty of choice freshly cooked meats and fish every evening. Room very comfortable we were in a junior suite.
Amazing Stay! The aerotib bus from the airport stops a couple of minutes a way from the hotel and only takes around an hour €6 per person. We were put in a room facing onto the road at first slightly disappointed but when we heard the night entertainment felt this was definitely a a plus as was so quiet(the road was also extremely quiet) room was huge also, yes maybe a bit basic but actually very cosy and exactly what we needed. The breakfast buffet was amazing, everything you could ask for was available and staff always extremely friendly. The Prosecco at breakfast is always welcome ;) we only stayed bed and breakfast as wanted to appreciate all the restaurants outside of the hotel. The adult pool was gorgeous with a swim up bar, and actually loved that there was never a rush to grab a bed. You could arrive at any time of day and always had loads of space. This is one of the things I’ve most hated about my previous holidays in Spain cramped around the pool fighting for beds….well not here! The one thing I would add(not really to do with the hotel but more of a warning) me and my sister went to Sa Coma beach for the day, gorgeous and I recommend. However we were followed by a man who watched us for over 40 mins and left us a note. We managed to get back to our hotel after hiding in a bar nearby, we did ask the hotel reception if they knew the man as we showed a picture. They seemed to know him which was worrying but again just a warning to younger female guests staying. Would definitely return!!!…
Now I understand ‘holidaying’ has changed since covid and I appreciate even being able to go on holiday but unfortunately we had a disappointing week here. Firstly the positives, the staff in the restaurant and kids entertainment lady are fantastic and a credit to the hotel! The food is also lovely, unfortunately only the buffet was open (we where only told this when we arrived). All the other restaurants are shut which was one of the reasons we picked this resort as we didn’t want to eat at the buffet every evening on our half board package. Anyway the buffet was lovely and a good change of food daily and great fresh fish etc. The hotel it’s self is rather soulless and very dated think early naughties. We payed around €3000 for a week and it was absolutely not worth it, it’s definitely not a 5* in my opinion, it lacks a lot of the extra we are use to when travelling to 5* resorts. I practically had to beg the receptionist for an extra bottle of water to give my daughter as your hotel room only comes with one small bottle per room per stay…. The English reception lady is also hell bent on you using the QR code for everything and struggles to want to give you any verbal information, the QR code is useless and will only give you the menus for the restaurants and that’s about it. So we missed out on the fact they had a kids club (even though we turned up with a child) the poor lady sits there all day with not many kids to entertain as nobody informs you about it. Also didn’t know about the indoor pool until we had to phone up on a rainy day and ask for information about what we could do with our little one as again the QR code was providing no extra information. The rooms are so sad that’s all I can say.. I’m definitely also going to need a chiropractor now. They also put us in a room opposite the evening entertainment which goes on for hours, again great if you don’t have small children but I can’t understand why they put family’s in that part when the hotels half empty with much more quieter areas and they know how much noise there is from those singers/ rock bands. Location great If you don’t want to leave the hotel. Absolutely not great if you want to go to Palma, your looking at an €80/90 trip each way. There isn’t much to do in this area and not many places to go outside of the hotel. So sadly this doesn’t get my vote and I feel slightly robbed of my money, let’s hope when things start to pick up they can put some money back into the hotel as I’m sure with a few changes it could be great.…
Just Fabulous! I coming to the end of a solo trip, and I’m heading home chilled out and relaxed. Majorca is a fabulous island, everyone is super friendly and even on my own I felt safe and welcome. The Gran Hotel Biomar is everything the positive reviews said it would be. Fabulous food, great staff, friendly service and super clean. The weather was a bit rubbish, so I took advantage of the free services at the hotel the amazing spa and hydro therapy pool, the fully kitted out gym, the quiet in door pool. When the sun did come out …the pool area is lovely with loads of high quality sun loungers. Take advantage of the free bikes and take a short ride down to the promenade. The view is lovely. I had a flat tire and one of the rental shops sorted it in a jiffy, didn’t hesitate to help. Loved this break and I ll be back to this hotel with my family next time :-)…
