We have just returned from a weeks holiday here, we travelled as a group of 8. There were 6 adults aged between 25 and 50, 1 teenager and an infant and we all had an absolutely brilliant time. I had read the reviews before arriving and found them mixed, we tend not to dwell too much on the bad reviews as it seems over the years visiting different destinations that no matter how well the hotel do some people are never happy! Remember you are booking a 3 star hotel. We arrived around 2PM and were checked in very quickly by a lady who was very patient and polite, our rooms were not in the main hotel but across the road to the back of the hotel in the economy apartments, this really was the best place we could have been, we loved it, we had 3 ground floor apartments 804 with 2 separate bedrooms, 806 with 1 bedroom and 814 with 1 bedroom, they were equipped with all you would expect in an apartment (kettle, cutlery, plate, glasses, cups etc.) the shower was powerful and towels changed every day, there was a safe which was 18 euro plus a 5 euro deposit, we never turnt the tv on so I cannot comment on this. They all had a table and chairs outside on a small patio area and led straight onto the pool, from 10am to 6pm every day there was a lifeguard and a self service bar (soft drinks, water, beer) big shout out to all of the lifeguards, they interacted with us and played music and sang and danced all holiday, it was great. We never felt the need to go into the pools at the main hotel. I am sure they were fine though. All food and entertainment was in the main hotel, so at 7pm (our allotted dinner time and dinner opening time) we would eat and then sit for the nights entertainment which consisted of Bingo, Karaoke, Quiz, Exotic Show, Live music and a horror show. I want to say a massive thank you to the entertainment crew Sito, Jenny and Lorenz, they were fantastic from start to finish, they worked so hard and were so polite and lovely. They really did make our evenings perfect. One of our travelers even took part in the horror show which we know Sito worked hard to produce, well done Sito, be proud of it. I had read that some people were saying the staff were rude...............my view is this...…..speak to people how you would like to be spoken to. Some staff could be quiet when busy or not say much but always, always reacted positively to a hello, please and thank you, I witnessed a few people who found this impossible, I found this quite rude. Due to Covid we were given set times for breakfast lunch and dinner, lunch and dinner suited us pretty much the whole time, breakfast was too early for us at 8 -8.30am (our time slot) and we always went about half 9, this was never a problem. There was nothing at all wrong with the food, i can be quite fussy, i don't like anything fish related, i don't like chips and am not a salad eater however ,there was plenty of things to choose from at all 3 meal times, there were snacks too but we never bothered with these, the bar by the stage has ice cream for the kids all day. There is only 1 toaster at breakfast which sometimes had a queue, this moved quickly most of the time, unfortunately even though there was a sign saying "do not put French stick in the toaster" of course people did it then got stuck and this is what caused the problem. There is a downstairs room with luggage storage and showers to use free of charge if you have to check out but wait around, 1 big plus we have not found anywhere before was you are allowed to keep your all inclusive band until you are picked up for transfer. If I had to search around for things that could be improved I would say leave the all inclusive bar open for longer as it stops at 11pm and you are then charged, include at least 1 cocktail on the AI menu and maybe get in stronger spirits, they are actually bottle marked at 25% the staff do not water them down, they do however give you a lot. There are a lot of things to do if you do your research, the beach which is very close has all sorts of water sports going on, there are many shops and restaurants nearby too. We are now trying to decide what to do next year, we are not returners and always travel to different places, if we come back to Majorca we will 100% stay again.

We have just got back from a 4 night break and had a ball. The rooms are lovely and cleaned daily with fresh towels. We stayed in the annex across the way and preferred it as there was always loungers and the pool staff were really nice and friendly. Upon reading the reviews prior regarding food we were actually very pleasantly surprised. It was nice with a good choice albeit a lot of pork dishes but I had salmon, muscles, chicken and meatballs to name a few dishes. All decent for a 3 star hotel. Entertainment was hitvand miss although we enjoyed the bingo and karaoke night. If you didn't fancy the Entertainment the Kings head is a stones throw away and so we enjoyed that a couple of the nights. Short walk to the beach and shops. Lovely steak houses and everything close by. We had a great time and would definitely return.

We have just returned from a week at Blue Sea Gran Playa and thought it was very good, staff where polite and friendly, food was fair for 3*, the room (Junior suite on 1st floor) was great with big balcony looking over the pools and was cleaned daily but we did have a few ants in the room although we wasn't swarming with ants. The entertainment took place near the pool bar so if you plan to go to bed early expect loud music until midnight. We found the fact that the all inclusive did not include cocktails, these where charged at 4,50 euro's each, a bit disappointing, we have stayed at numerous 3* hotels in the past and they have included cocktails, albeit they may have been ready mixed. They did sell bottled water out of a vending machine but you could have a cup of cold water from the bar and in the dining room, like many others staying there we filled up water flasks in the morning at breakfast. Sunbeds where broken and really do need replacing, we took some foam sunbed mats which did make the sunbeds more comfortable, although if you are only taking a small amount of luggage these would not fit in your small case.

Hello Greg, Thank you for staying with us at BLS Gran Playa and for your favourable comments about our courteous staff, our beautiful, clean Junior Suite with its spacious balcony and our hotel in general. We apologise that more elaborate cocktails are not included in our offer, but we strive to provide the very best value for money, so this isn't always possible. In addition, we will certainly consider your opinions about the sunbeds. We bid you a fond farewell and hope that you choose to stay with us again. BLS Gran Playa Hotel Team

Ok, so I realise I’m extremely lucky to be able to have a week’s holiday here, but we did pay a handsome price for the privilege! This hotel is dire. I wanted so much to love it as some of the staff are lovely, but most are clearly very unhappy. First, the positives: the beds are comfy and the reception and housekeeping staff very nice. Now the negatives: the food is absolutely horrendous- in 30 years of travelling all over the world, it’s the worst slop we have ever encountered. Reformed mushy meats, pork 5 nights out of 7, tinned potatoes, instant mash, very poor quality cheap basic food - not what we expected at all. The restaurant is like a canteen and there was often food on the floor left over from the previous evenings meal. One evening, whilst I was still eating my meal, the member of staff reached directly in front of my face to grab at a plate rather than go around, which was extremely rude! A lady actually slipped over in there 2 nights ago and hurt her leg! The plates often have food detritus stuck to them and are not fully clean. The choice is limited and very basic. The breakfast however is very reasonable. The drinks: I have never, ever been to an All Inclusive where you have to pay extra for small bottles of water from a vending machine, water isn’t available as part of the drinks package - cheeky and very unfair! At the beginning of the holiday you have to pay a ‘hire’ fee of a euro per plastic beaker and all drinks are served to you in these. Even coffee unless you make sure you reject them and specifically ask for a proper cup and saucer. Sometimes you will be given the same cup even if you change drinks types. The top rims of the beakers are sometimes very rough and hurt your mouth. The bar staff are often over worked and can be brusque. The grey haired barman is however lovely and very polite. Whilst here, we had ants in our bathroom which were not dealt with properly and when we went back to reception the next day - we were given a can of raid to deal with them ourselves! The entertainment is done on an absolute shoestring - the two people who try their best are lovely, but there seems to be little or no budget for proper acts etc. Most nights is bingo (5 euros) and then karaoke. Don’t be expecting Canary island style cabaret acts!! The pool area: most of the sun loungers are broken across the main middle bar underneath, so they need replacing. The pool area is dirty and painted in grey garage paint on top of concrete - it is NOT how Jet2 portray it in the photos! The outside bins and floor near the bins are swarming with ants. So, in summary, this hotel is extremely basic and low quality - but is not priced accordingly - there are far better hotels locally at a similar price point, and you will be heartily disappointed if like us you had the expectation of a decent holiday and then, sadly, ended up here.

Hello Melonmelons, We are very sorry to hear that our hotel did not meet your expectations. Moreover, it is unfortunate that the efforts made by our staff did not improve your experience. We apologise that the offering of food was not to your liking. We do try to cater for everyone, but we have to accept that not everyone will be satisfied. Your negative comments about our team are surprising, because we have not received this kind of feedback before. We would like to thank you for your comments, which we shall consider carefully. We say goodbye and thank you for staying with us; we are sad that we were not what you were expecting. BlueSea Gran Playa Hotel Team
