Nestled close to the beach and the charm of the old town, Zafiro Palace Alcudia is celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and family-friendly vibe, with guests often lauding the range of pools and dining options. While the hotel's staff generally receives accolades for their friendliness and professionalism, there have been occasional notes of service inconsistencies. The rooms are recognized for their space and comfort, despite some remarks on upkeep. While reviews on value are polarized, the hotel's cleanliness and convenient location garner unanimous praise.

First visit to zafiro palace. Booked very last minute so we we were limited with choice etc but after reading reviews on here this seemed like a good choice. Overall we had a lovely holiday and were generally happy with the hotel. Yes it has a few bad points etc but nothing that ruined our holiday or would stop us coming back.

Rooms-
We had two rooms between us. One junior suite and a one bedroom suite. Hotel managed to put us in blocks next to each other which was appreciated. Both rooms were really good sizes. Junior suite faced the pool- good for a nicer view but not great if you like to go to bed a bit earlier or have children etc as it was really noisy with the entertainment just outside. The one bedroom suite faced out onto the road and car park. Yes it wasn’t the prettiest view but it wasn’t offensive and we don’t go on holiday to sit on a balcony all day so this really didn’t bother us. In fact it was perfect for getting baby to nap during the day and at night.
From what we picked up on to help others in choosing a room-
We were concerned before we left about the bathroom/glass window situation. In the junior suite the glass panel looked from the living area to the bath tub. Shower and toilet were behind closed frosted doors so no privacy issue unless you were in the bath etc. In the one bed you could see the shower from the bedroom area. If you have older children etc or were worried on privacy they could simply not go into the bedroom at that time but it is tucked tight around the corner etc. for us again we loved it it meant that we could shower and watch the baby nap at the same time! Rooms were cleaned daily. Water and snacks on top also replaced daily free of charge. Anything in fridge is chargeable. The one bedroom suite had a kitchenette which was nicely hidden away like a wardrobe which we loved meant it was less overpowering in the room. Was perfect with a baby with microwave/kettle/ bigger fridge than standard room. Also had a hob/coffee machine and toasted. Plates/glasses and cutlery etc.
Bathrobe and slippers provided. Plenty of wardrobe space. Big balcony. Good a/c.
The swim up pools- whilst it’s seems like a good idea to lead straight onto a pool it means that you can get anybody on a sun lounger right opposite your room. For me I wouldn’t personally like it but like I say it would be perfect if you like to be able to sit on a balcony and then go into a pool straight away or not have to get up for a sun bed! There are gates at the end of your balcony for those with small children. There are also rooms with private pools attached. Again nice idea but not sure if you would get bored being in the same little square pool etc so not sure how much you would use it.

Pools

Good choice of pools and we didn’t find them too overcrowded during our time. Activities during the day-aqua aerobics, water polo etc. no hassling from staff either to join in.
The sun beds! We were downstairs between 7.45-8.15 every morning as this is generally what time we woke up. We didn’t set an alarm etc. we always managed to get a sun bed where we wanted one and there was always still plenty of choice left so I’m not sure where people getting up at 6am were trying? If you want prime position front and center or one of the daybeds situated in the pool then yes probably get up at 6am. The beds are tight but the layout of the pools means there isn’t an over amount of room for beds to go in other places etc so what would people rather them take away beds to give those more space? The other complaint about people not using their beds either- it was so hot during our stay that you had to spend most of your time in the water you couldn’t sit in it or we certainly couldn’t and neither could most people so look around the pool and all you’ll see is beds with no one sat on them, doesn’t always mean they aren’t using them though. I don’t know why people complain about sun beds everyone knows the deal on holidays it’s no different anywhere you go. Is it right?no but that’s the way it is unfortunately. The hotel could probably enforce a policy of no towels on beds before 7/8am etc but that would still take a lot of staff to monitor all the different pools.
Lifeguards dotted about the pools- some better than others. Watch out for the wet bubble in the main pool- bigger kids tend to get overly boisterous throwing each other off the top and as a result stops younger children being able to enjoy it aswell. Some lifeguards were hot on stopping them etc but not all of them. Swim up pool bar was a nice idea but does get busy. Kids pirate ship pool was really fun aswell. Pool towels provided for you.

Food
Overall we were pleased with the food. We only used the buffet restaurant as none of the a la carte appealed to us. Basically we always managed to find something to eat. Struggled on a couple of occasions but we did eat. One night was seafood night which meant it was literally all seafood- from the salad section right through. Even half the desserts were gone for sushi. If your not into fish you would be pretty stuck. There is always a kids section with chips/nuggets/fish fingers. Always pizza and pasta every night. Selection of meats etc. we’re very fussy people and we are always nervous to go on holiday from a food aspect but like I say we never didn’t eat something just some nights were better than others for choice.
Signage of foods could be better aswell. They didn’t always correspond to what they were etc.
breakfast was a good choice, large selection of pretty much everything. The queue for pancakes though! The poor chef couldn’t cook them quick enough.
we also went to the restaurant for lunch and paid extra as we were half board. It was €28 for an adult. If you could eat a fair bit and get your moneys worth. For us it was just easier than going out of the hotel in the heat. They only have half the buffet open for lunch though so less choice. There is a restaurant by the pools but it always seemed a bit mad in there so we never bothered.
Breakfast-queues to get seated from 8.45 onwards most mornings just to be warned. It does move quickly though I think it’s more because of the process they have for someone physically seating you so it isn’t a complete free for all. Only point to add was it seemed that the quieter the restaurant was the less attentive the staff became at clearing tables etc.

Entertainment
The only thing that we were disappointed with during our stay. Nothing starts until 9pm which feels late when you have young children. Then it’s an act for an hour and then some kids dances. Why they can’t have a mini disco on at 8:8.30ish makes no sense. The shows were okay some better than others but it was so distracting outside as it’s just people walking about constantly, some will just stop and stand right in front of you etc but it’s just constant movement so makes it harder for you to follow what’s happening. The animation team also have something going on inside aswell starting at 9 like face painting/balloon animals- which means you then have to miss the show whilst you go and get that stuff done etc. Best show for us was the Soul Avenue singers on our last night-they were really good and tried so hard to get the audience going and most people still sat there so miserable. It just ruins the atmosphere in some ways.

There is a nice kids play area with climbing frame/slide and a bouncy castle.
We had a few issues with things breaking in the rooms and these were always dealt with quickly. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Other useful tips-
Supermarket straight across the road from hotel- sells pretty much everything you could need and a large choice of inflatables etc-allowed in the pools. 5/10 min walk to port area.

Overall-
The hotel is not perfect no and I suppose for the money paid and it being a 5 star etc you would potentially expect a bit more. I do think Spanish 5 star and English 5 star can be two different things though. If you are used to absolute perfection etc then this probably isn’t the holiday for you. Yes we had one towel in our room with a hole in-doesn’t mean it spoiled my holiday! Yes there was the odd plate that still had specks of food on-again put it down and choose another one!
I think some people like to moan for the sake of it or try to find fault in everything. Yes the hotel is busy it’s the summer holidays?
A holiday is what you make of it and if the little touches are going to bother you then maybe change your mind.

This is a fabulous hotel mainly for families. During Covid period there was no evening entertainment which is pretty standard across most of Europe at the moment.

Lots of advice on here to upgrade to All Inclusive - this worked our at Euro 82.50 per person per day for us to upgrade from room only. I think that it is 50/50 whether this upgrade is needed - the Port with many decent restaurants is only 5 minute walk and the Supermarket is 2 minutes from the Hotel.

Restaurants were easy to book and very understanding on the times you actually turn up compared with the booking. Tailored shorts are 100% fine with no need for long trousers. We booked old school at the coffee shop which suited us.

The Veranda Restaurant in day turned into The Grill Restaurant at night and we preferred these choices. The Italian was good and the Mediterranean very good as well. The buffet breakfast was a reasonable standard for all inclusive.

Sun loungers around the main pools are covered in towels very early but at the end of the week the lifeguards were removing these if left more than 40 minutes.

Pools are very nice and very close although the loungers get pretty intensely packed.

Swim up rooms are great as they have a large terrace but be aware that everyone uses the swim up pools as a matter of course as they are detached from the swim up rooms. The presidential suites are fine with a second floor up to a roof terrace and hot tub but as the weather was very warm then no hot tub required.

We arrived in August for a 7 night stay. It was our 6th visit to the hotel and didn’t disappoint.

The amazing staff are one of the main reasons we keep coming back. Friendly, professional and they have a knack of making you feel like family. Andres, Mauri, Luiz, Andres, Viviana, Miguel Tur and MANY more always make us so welcome and cannot do enough for us.

The rooms are spotlessly clean with a modern design, housekeeping are on hand if you need anything extra such as towels. We’ve previously had the jacuzzi suite which has a large decking area, definitely a worthwhile treat if it’s within your budget.

The hotel is literally a five minute walk to the beach and across the road you’ll find many shops, bars, restaurants and pharmacy.

My daughter has been coming since she was 5, she’s now 11 and still begs to come back. For the younger ones there’s a great kids club and separate pirate ship kids pools with slides where they have a little pool party at 5pm each day.

The main draw is the wet bubble in the main pool which will keep kids entertained in the pool ‘all day long’ and means they make many friends, all whilst us parents sip on cocktails at the pool bar.

They also have things like the aqua mat, glitter/face painting and the iconic music swimming quiz offered throughout the week and the older kids loved to congregate at the basketball court in the evenings. There is also mini golf and an enclosed park next to the buffet restaurant which is a great incentive to get the younger ones to eat, and allows you a few minutes of peace to eat whilst they play.

Yes, things have been different because of Covid, which I think is to be expected. There were no evening shows, so as not to draw all the guests to one area, but quizzes were on twice in the week. Instead they had individual musicians come on different evenings to the bar for ambiance and afterwards music was played in the background and a video screen played. I was so grateful to have such a lovely holiday that these small changes weren’t a disappointment to me and I can’t wait to come back next year when things return to normal.

If I ever have any niggles, queries, comments or feedback I know the GM Llorenc and Guest Relations Manager Tamara are always around daily and accessible so I can discuss any issues.

To summarise, if you want a lovely, modern, clean luxurious resort that works brilliantly with children this hotel is perfect.

We’ll see you next year.

Hospitality is not a strength of the staff and many seem in need of a refresher course in how to treat guest! In general, apart from the animation team and a few waiters, the service is ridiculous and some of the staff are extremely rude! Staff take ages to do everything and anything and it almost seems like they are avoiding you.

They ran out of ketchup for the majority of my stay (how do you run out of ketchup?) and they didn’t put water in our rooms for the first couple of days. When items were missing from the buffet, the waiters would say that they have run out of the items but then bring it out later (they couldn’t be bothered to look for the items). They also ran out of butter one evening!

They ran out of clean pool towels and so we couldn’t change them.

They refused to give me water after 6pm at the pool bar and the restaurant stating that they were closing (Water is a necessity and should be readily available especially if there are people in the bar. They only give glass bottles in the room which is not practical to take outside either).

Desserts were good and the a la carte restaurants were nice but they didnt label things properly in the buffet restaurant so if you’re a vegetarian that cannot speak Spanish you may struggle. Drinks in the all inclusive are good but if the main bar is busy in the evening you may wait up to an hour for a drink because they are so understaffed.

The rooms are nice and spacious and clean, with a nicely sized balcony. I asked reception to have the cleaning staff bring up some toiletries which they have failed to replace. The cleaner knocked once, gave no chance to even say ‘one second’ or open the door, and let herself in - I was in the middle of changing!! She brought the wrong items and the second time she came she did the same thing! No apology or anything, it was ridiculous!!

The gym is extremely small and the AC does not seem to work. They don’t have a lot of the weights and equipment is generally very limited. They also say they open at 7:30 but the cleaners were still cleaning after this time and whilst we were working out.

Limited entertainment (just live music in the evenings) and their timing is not great. They stated that aqua gym was at 12 but really it was whenever they felt like it- could be 12, could be 12:45 or 1. No structure.

This is definitely NOT a 5* hotel and there is A LOT to work do! I would not stay here again.

Couldn't fault this hotel. Everything you could want for children and so many pools to choose from! Rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. Choice of restaurants meant we had a variety of meals during the week all included - you do have to be organised to get a table at each of the 4 restaurants and book them as soon as booking opens but it is possible. Entertainment was great for children and the kids club staff were all very enthusiastic and friendly. Only a 5 minute walk to the beach and the marina which was lovely although our daughter preferred to stay in the hotel and spend all day in the pools. Our one and only annoying thing was people reserving sunbeds with towels. The hotel REALLY have to do something about it - we watched people go out in the morning and reserve sunbeds in two different places so that they had somewhere for the morning sun and somewhere for the afternoon sun! Others just put towels down and didn't use them all day. This is such selfish behaviour when there are people with young families who just need to find somewhere that they can all sit together. If everyone just used their sunbed for the time they needed it and then removed their things there would be plenty of room as people were coming and going all day. It was actually quite stressful to watch! The hotel should have someone removing towels as this would soon stop people reserving beds. Apart from that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and would love to come back again.

Due to corona, our booking was changed to the Alcudia Palace. 1 h drive from the airport, clean rooms, good location (close to the beach and the harbor). Mallorca has never seen so few tourists, the time is perfect to go now.

Only one remark about the hotel: the junior suites and swim up suites all have a shared room for parents and children. The bathroom is in the same room, so using light to go to the toilet or brush your teeth is out of question if you don’t want to wake the kids.

I think the lack of entertainment was due to corona.
The staff are very friendly and well organized.

What a fabulous hotel.

From start to finish the staff were amazing, so helpful and so polite

Check in was super easy and we upgraded which is a must if you can get the roof top jacuzzi room.

We arrived at 2am so we stayed in the room we had originally booked but the next day our room was available and they moved all suitcases for us.

Check in service was fast and easy

I booked direct with the hotel and they answered all my questions before I arrived and honoured all my requests

Room was spacious and clean. Maids couldn’t be faulted at all.

We travelled with an 8 month old and our room was prefect. When he was sleeping in his bed we was able to chill out on the balcony or the roof in the jacuzzi. Made our holiday very enjoyable

Plenty of pools and loungers. Pool was a little cold but was fine once you got in. Pool towels provided which is great as this saved us luggage space

We only went bed and breakfast so can’t comment on all the food but breakfast was enjoyable and so much to choose from.

Not much entertainment but that’s due to Covid: they had great musicians on who did the best they could.

Staff at the lounge bar deserve a shout out because they was so good and polite.

Honestly we had the best stay, please ignore the negative reviews. A lot has changed since Covid and they are doing the best they can.

Thank you for a great stay

Me and my boyfriend came here 14th Sept - 21st September 2019. I asked Thomas cook (booked with them at the time) if they could write a note that this is a holiday for our anniversary thinking we would just get a nice meal on the day and that's it. When we arrived we went to our rooms to only find we have a upgrade for free. We had a room booked for a balcony but we got a room with a swim up pool which made the holiday so much better. The breakfast was lovely can be busy at times but expected. You get a choice of indoors or outdoors and tea and coffee we always choose outdoors for breakfast and dinner. For lunch we always ate at the restaurant over the pool which was lovely. Evening they're was always entertainment with loads of waiters taking drink orders.

Day of our anniversary we were suprised with a cake and bottle of champagne along with a personal letter saying congratulations from all of zafiro which I've kept as a keepsafe. We ate for dinner at the restaurant over the pool which was okay the steak wasn't all to great but it was nice enough. We had a photoshoot from one of the photographers there as a gift to one another kept 10 pictures since it was very pricey for 1 photo from memory was £25 and bundles were different.

The day before we left we had a call to ask if we would like to have any breakfast to our room since we had an early flight but we felt okay with it.

Overall this is an amazing holiday, the town is amazing and isn't to far, there is a night club close by called the banana club unfortunately didn't get to try it out. The beach is all sandy. The rooms and room service is spot on no complains there. Would love to come back here and try the other zafiro hotels

Booked last minute and couldn’t have been more pleased with our pick of hotel. Easily matched standard of many of the Caribbean hotels we’ve been lucky enough to visit over the years. Food was great quality and lunch was a good standard in La Veranda which was nice to have table service instead of having to use the buffet. We took our 4 month old baby and the hotel provided a great travel cot and ample bottled water each day for sterilising and feeds. Swim up room was worth the upgrade, though water temp was on the chilly side being out of season. Great trip - thank you

This place certainly lived up to expectation. Geared for families, it has everything to accommodate the needs of the very young to the ........slightly older!
The pools are clearly the central focus and are a busy hive of activity all day long. I was slightly surprised the 'sunbed reservation' system wasn't better policed, with the 'more experienced' Zafiro Palace attendees seen scampering out good and early to lay towels on the popular sunbeds, only to leave them unattended for several hours. This did not detract from our having a great stay however, as a swift 'if you can't beat them, join them' process was utilised.
The kids club was a great asset, allowing a few hours of respite for both parents and children and seemed well utilised.
The location of the Hotel is superb with Alcudia old town a short walk away and the beach within easy access on foot, though it was better to walk some distance along the beach to be free of the seaweed (and smell).
Food at the hotel was faultless with a huge array of choice with the 3 a la carte restaurants and the Market buffet. Well prepared and with plenty of choice, this was a highlight for us on the trip.
Finally, the service at the hotel was faultless and when a problem with our room meant us moving to another, it was planned, organised and executed effeciently and swiftly meaning minimal disruption.
Altogether a great stay at a great location. We will definitely be returning.

Dear Lindsay M., the junior suit is still a very good option for families with small children, the hotel can offer a cot for your 1 year old baby and the sofa bed for your 4 year old child, the sofa when not in use can be closed again and you will have much more space. additionally all our rooms have a private balcony. We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy your holidays with us, it will be a pleasure to serve you. Best regards
