We went here for a week in September - the temperature was great, between 27 and 30 degrees all week. We were in the two-bedroom apartments just over the road from the main hotel and the beds were very comfy. We'd booked a one-bedroom apartment but had been upgraded; I would recommend the apartments over the road because, although there's no sea view, we were right by the pool, had air-con and it's very quiet. The apartment was simple (but had everything we needed) and it was very clean; a maid came twice a week. We had a problem with our shower initially but, within an hour, the shower head and shower hose had been replaced - the staff could not have been more helpful.
The pool is deep, which I thought was brilliant, but there is also a shallow end and a children's pool. Previous reviews have described that the pool was "filthy" - this is harsh and inaccurate. There were a few leaves/petals in the pool each morning because there are two trees on the poolside, but there is a large net provided so if you'd rather the leaves weren't in there, you can easily be scoop them out. There are plenty of sunbeds and getting one was never a problem, even in the afternoon.
The hotel food is amazing. The pizzas are delicious (you get a lot of topping) and the paella is fantastic!
Near the apartments/hotel is a 'lighthouse island'. It's about 100m off-shore and very easy to get to by either wading or swimming; I'm 5ft,5in tall and I could easily stand up all the way across. It's a nice excursion and you have a lovely view of the mainland.
Puerto Alcudia is about thirty minutes walk away, but it is a pleasant walk. Instead of walking along the road, I would recommend walking the first half of the journey on the footpath by the sea - if you walk down the slope opposite the Hotel President, you'll find it easily.
We also went to Puerto Pollensa for the day, which I highly recommend. You can either get a bus (but there are only four a day from the hotel) or a taxi for about €15. The beach is huge and the sea is gorgeous - shallow and very clear, it's ideal for young children but also perfect for adults.
Alcudia Old Town is also well worth a visit (Puerto Alcudia is a bit tacky) especially on Sunday morning when the market is on. There is a bus from the hotel at 9am which will take you there for about €2 per person.
If you're looking for somewhere to have a nice meal out, I'd recommend the Petit Hotel in Alcudia Old Town. It's not cheap but the food is DIVINE and the setting is gorgeous - perfect for celebrating an occassion etc.
Overall, Aucanada Apartments are great value for money - clean, simple and quiet with helpful, friendly staff, a great pool and tasty food. I'd never been to Majorca before this holiday but I will definitely be back, and I would happily stay at Aucanada Apartments again!

We stayed here for a week 3-10th August. Myself, my husband and our 3 year old daughter. We had a 1 bed apartment looking over the restaurant right at the front. Initially, we were concerned we might be kept awake at night but we weren't even once! The apartment was roomy and was cleaned every 2 days with fresh towels and bedding. We knew it didn't have air con before we came, but we were provided with 2 fans, free of charge, which was fine (It was 31-35 C). The only times we struggled with the heat was trying to dry hair with a hairdryer - so hot! We didn't have a problem sleeping, although you can't cuddle up as it's too hot!

The pool area was nice, and we never had any trouble getting beds even at 1pm etc after a morning on the beach! There was a nice mix of English, Spanish and German families - all the guests seemed nice people and got along - the kids played together in the pool. No noisy louts or drunken Brits abroad : )

The beach 2 mins away is really nice, although quite small and does get busy. The water is beautifully clear and our daughter swam for the very first time in the sea, it was so warm.

The area around the hotel is lovely, seems very authentic Spanish - holiday homes for the Spanish perhaps? There is one hotel 1 minute away - the President, which is also very highly rated.

We did self catering for breakfast and lunch using the spa on site, which was perfectly fine for us. We also had the bbq on site on Thursday night which we both agreed was our best meal of the week. We walked into Alcudia to eat 5 nights out of 7. Now, if I'm being totally honest, it was a long walk. I read some previous reviews that said 15-20 minutes, now we usually knock a few minutes off what people say, as we are young and fit and like walking, but really, it took us 35 minutes to get to the edge of the port, another 5-10 to get to where the main bars/restaurants were and the huge beach. We did enjoy the walk, don't get me wrong, but you need to understand that it is a very long way. We could not have done it without our buggy, which our daughter hasn't been in for almost a year at home! Having said that, we never once got the bus or a taxi, so it can't have been that bad. I think the owner said 2km to the port, so probably 2.5km into the resort.

We went to Alcudia beach twice during the daytime, walking again. It is amazing, I feel like I can't find the words to say how briliant the beach is. The sand is pure white, and soft like icing sugar. The sea is up to your ankles for about 50-100 meters out, then very gradually shelves. It is so huge that it never seems busy, and this was August! Just quite simply .... perfect.

Overall, this has been about as good as a holiday gets, in our opinion. If you want a reasonably priced accomodation, without being kept up all night by chavs (!) then this is the place for you. I guess you trade the long walk for the peace and quiet - you can't have everything.

We booked this after a late browse in April for a summer holiday, when the vast selection of popular available places had diminished, and we were heavily reliant on trip advisor to confirm our choice of what was left. So apart from consistently good reviews we werent too sure what to expect when we chose these apartments. Our profile :family of 4 (two early teenage kids) who don't normally do resorts, never done package holidays and we like to explore the places we visit. We hired a car as taking out cost of transfers etc, it didn't work out so much more, but the freedom it gave was useful. These apartments are in Aucanada, 2 km from the resort of Alcudia Port (and as per other reviews 30-35 mins is a reasonable walk time to the port, but its full of english, crowds and tacky restaurants, so why would you?), and in the immediate vicinity of the apartments there is a Spar, three restaurants / bars (including the one at the apartments). It is a gentle, quiet place, but wow, absolutely beautiful in its setting, about 50 metres through open parkland to crystal clear sea water, overlooking alcudia bay with mountains as a backdrop wherever you look inland. It is stunningly beautiful. We walked each day along the seafront, and it is peaceful, pretty and frequented it seems by mallorcans as a place to come and picnic with families by the water. theres an island 50 m off shore with a lighthouse on it, and you can reach this simply wading across calm water about 4 ft deep. Our family loved snorkelling as the waters are so clear and fish abundant swimming between your feet. The apartments. Very clean, basic, and well run. The place is split into two blocks, with several apartments surrounding the small but lovely pool (olive trees surrounding the pool providing shade). These have air-con, and I think are slightly more upmarket, whereas we had the non air-con block, which is over a very quiet small road separating the two areas. Thus our apartment was less comfortable as it was 36 deg celsius in the day and 27 at night so uncomfortably hot, and fans only helped cope, but not enough to feel comfortable at night. Cleaners come every two days, beds are comfy, kitchen facilities basic, but enough to cook the occasional evening meal in. We were put in an apartment on the first floor above the bar, but the view was directly of the sea from our balcony. The bar caused us absolutely no problems as it is well run, quiet, and the clientele and staff simply seemed like nice people. Whilst on the subject of the bar / restaurant, it is good value, friendly, but on one night the service was very slow as they tried a barbecue, but it didn't really get going, so the food was delayed. The paella is absolutely fantastic. So in summary, stunning location, couldn't believe our luck, clean comfortable apartments, but some in need of aircon for the hotter months. The place is small, well run, informal, and welcoming. Would we go back? definitely, definitely, not in August but only as we are not good with the heat, wheras others seemed to cope well. Lastly advice on trips out: Alcudia old town and Pollenca old town both beautiful; we also drove out to the headland (victoria and cap formentor) which are both absolutely beautiful excursions, but go late afternoon and avoid the crowds / enjoy the sunset. Hope this is of use!

Arrived here early on the sat morning (5am!) and realised we had left a vanity case on the carousel at the airport!!, the hotel manager was very helpful in trying to find us a number to call at the airport and let us use his phone, eventually had to hire a car which the hotel helped arrange to go back to the airport and we found it still laying on the carousel!! so a happy ending there the thought of no make up was not a good one lol!!. We got to our apartment which was a 2 bedroom apartment (2 twin rooms) and it was a nice surprise to find we had air conditioning which we were not expecting. the bedrooms were very spacious and the living area was a nice size too there was 6 of us and it was fine. The sofa bed in the living room was a little small so my husband and one of my sons shared that whilst I had a single bed in one of the twin rooms, but it worked out fine. Our apartment (B3) was on the ground floor (blocks of 4 apartments, 2 lower and 2 upper) and it was in a great location for the pool, as we would just sit on the balconey and watch my boys in the pool. The rooms are basic but livable, there is a kettle and a 2 ring hob, fridge, and basic crochery and utensils. Very clean, the towels are changed every 2 days. There is a round shallow pool which is great for the younger children and a larger pool for bigger kids!! be warned the large pool is very deep (2 meters+ at the deepest!) the pool was suprisingly warm once you were in it!. People always seemed to leave there inflatable toys behind when they left (as did we) in the pool so there was always something to play on. One tip is to get the sun beds early I got up one morning at 6am and they were nearly all gone!! It was mostly english families there but there was a few forieigners but everyone was really nice, friendly and considerate, especially at night, we would nornally arrive back at the apartment about 10.30pm (young children!) and it would always be lovely and quiet so the boys could sleep, and we would sit on the balconey for a couple of hours chatting and watching the stars!. (this is not for people who like a noisey night life! no brit bars or karaoke and no children running wild making a noise like you may find at some hotels!!.) The 2 bed apartments are split by a road from the main reception and 1 bed apartments, but this was not busy so nothing to worry about. There was a bus that runs every hour in to Alcudia the last bus into town is 7.15pm, so you would have to get a taxi back but this costs about the same of the bus depending on how many people you have with you!, one thing to note is that the taxis are only meant to take a max a 4 people which is not much help when there is 6 people but we managed to speak nicely! to a couple of drivers who let all of us in, so its worth trying a couple of different drivers!
The beach at the resort is a 2 min walk, it is nice soft sand and the sea is lovely but it is not very big and does get VERY crowed especially with locals, and we preferred getting the bus to alcudia beach. The Area is very residential and only has these apartments and 1 hotel (The Presidents) which i think closes in the winter. But the setting is stunning gorgeous houses and apartments, the view is amazing and over looks alcudia and the mountains. There is a bar which sits on a jetty over the sea which serves food during the day (quite resonable) and you can get drinks at night here and the view is excellant.
There is a pizza type restaurant which is attached to the resort which is also very nice and has plush chairs and sofas to sit and relax on! There is also a Michelin star award restaurant which does lunch & dinner (or just drinks) which also has stunning views over the sea, we treated ourselves here on the last night and it was very nice - but pricey, but you could get the menu of the day which was 40 euros each for 3 course and coffee so not too bad. You can also eat at the Presidents hotel for 12 euros each (adult) and 8 euros (child) to eat (buffett style) and drink (red, white wine beer, soft drinks) as much as you like, which was very good value.
The area around the village is quite rocky but there are quite a few little alcoves to sunbath in if you can find them. and there is a nice walk towards the light house. There is also a beach path towards town, but with the little ones we didnt make it as they got too tired! but would imagine it would take an adult about 25-30 mins to walk. There is a golf course 5 min walk which overlooks the sea, i believe there is a restaurant there aswell but we never went.
We would definatelty go back again but probably book direct with the hotel as this would be cheaper (hotel tel 0034 971 545 402) or sales@stilhotels.com

We had a one bedroom apartment which is located in a seperate building across the road from the two bedroomed apartments which overlook the pool area. There is a supermarket and pizzeria/
cafe/restaurant called Momo attached to the apartments. We only ate there the night we got there which was a Saturday night at about 11pm. The food was good but a little bit pricey. They can afford to be because there's only this restaurant, San Atonio and La Terraza in Aucanada

We ate at the Hotel President the next night, which is twelve euros per person for the buffet (which you pay at Reception), and a further
two euros per person for drinks (which you pay at the table) and this
for free flowing red wine, white wine, beer, soft drinks or water. You just help yourself.

However, there is the bus stop outside the apartments which takes you into Puerto Alcudia and costs 1.10 euros for an adult, the last bus into town is 7.15 and we never paid more than eight euros for a taxi back to the apartments (depending on how far into Puerto Alcudia
you walked). There's so many good restaurants in the port that are really well priced, so we didn't cook at all in our apartment, just stocked up the fridge with cold drinks, wine and fruit. There is a big Eroski supermarket in Puerto Alcudia and a Mercadonia in Alcudia if you want to stock up cheaply.

The towels and linen were changed three times in the week we stayed. The apartments are basic but clean. There was always hot water for the shower. The one bedroomed apartments don't have air conditioning but there was a fan in ours when we arrived - don't know if we were supposed to pay for it though. There is a room safe which you can hire for two euros a day.

One really nice thing they did for us was let us have our room until 4pm in the afternoon with no extra charge, because we had an evening flight home.

The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We would definately stay here again - its out the way to be lovely and peaceful and close
enough if you do want the action.

We arrived late at night and tired after a long drive and knew instantly we'd struck lucky. The owner kept the bar open long enough for us to relax, enjoy a glass of wine, pizza and the warm October evening out on the terrace. The one bedroomed apartment with afternoon sun overlooking the sea rooms was basic but functional and spotlessly clean.
Our only complaint was the lack of a double bed although because the weather was unseasonably hot it did make getting to sleep easier.
The restaurant offers reasonably priced simple food and all the staff were approachable and happy to help. The area has beautiful coves and secluded beaches to explore and we rarely saw more than three other couples a day. Although we only booked this as a last minute cheap deal it was one of the best holidays we've had and will definitely go back.
John and Sue.

My wife and i have just returned from what i would say was an absolute, back of the net, without a shadow of doubt..amazing bargain holiday at apartments aucanada on the beautiful outskirts of port d'alcudia.
Im no expert on holidays abroad but i am legendary when it comes to value for hard earned money.
I am going to assume you would look into the details of your stay..room..pool view....sea view ect..as there are two different premises to stay at.
We stayed in a one bed apartment with balcony and sea view room 301.
On arriving at gone 11pm we were welcomed at reception by the owner who told us everything we needed to know about our stay..breakfast times, restaurant and bar times, where the pool was, room safe and given our keys.
The room was very clean and a good size balcony with table and chairs inside and out,3 things let it down..1=although very clean it seems the shower set and sink tap are ignored by the cleaner/shower curtain, sink, toilet ,floor and walls all perfectly clean.
2= self catering and no microwave or toaster,to be fair if we'd asked maybe this would have been sorted.
3= beds although clean a little uncomfortable but again to be fair my bed at home could do with replacing.
Towls and bed were changed and made almost every day and a quick clean around the room.
The breakfast team where very polite and helpful and will cook a basic scrambled egg sausage bacon and beans on request, there's freshly made rolls and breads fruit and meats and cheese and yoghurts, croissant and a toaster!! Tea coffee and assorted juice.
The bar area is lovely to sit at,the surrounding area is beautiful.
Dont miss Thursday night bbq!
All staff were polite and helpful..the restaurant menu and food were good, catering for English and Spanish ,tho pizza seems be a little overdone.
The days of cheap food and drink i think are gone.. though a little less expensive than the uk you have to dig around for bargain food and drink outlet anywhere..
On the day of leaving sebastian the owner put our transfer details on a board so we knew what was happening, check out time was 12 noon but we were being picked up at 7pm sebastian offered us another room to leave our stuff in and shower if we needed to so we could still relax and enjoy the day! Which i think was very generous of him!
Im reviewing from a couples perspective..as a parent with kids you should know the main pool is very deep and only a small part would be suitable for young children.
Theres so much i could say about how perfect this location is but thats a personal thing and you can research this for yourself I've tried to keep this review just about the apartment aucanada.
If you are a holiday snob then id advice you to go ahead and pay tripple+ what i did to stay somewhere that will probably let you down,,if you want a great base to holiday in this beautiful part of the world the apartments aucanada is absolute value for money ..i will be returning.

I stayed here with my brother. We wanted a relaxing sea-side holiday, without too many touristy trappings and noisy nightlife. We got exactly what we wanted. This is quite a secluded part of Mallorca within short driving distances of more touristy attractions. I would definitely say you need a car if you stay here. Its about 45mins to an hour from Palma Airport. The apartments are very basic but clean. There is a kitchenette with fridge and electric hobs if you want to cook. The bathroom towels were changed once during our week stay. The tiny TV only shows 3 news channels in English (not that you will want to stay in watching TV?). There are two small supermarkets within walking distance (one is a Spa). There are two restaurants within walking distance and a cool bar that serves snacks and drinks right on a secluded beach - the barman was a really nice guy, who insisted we had a drink with him. The hotel has a small pool (although we preferred to walk a few extra yards and swim in the Med!) The restaurant attached to the appartements (Momo) is very good, although a tad expensive by Mallorcan standards - waiting staff are very friendly and attentive. Didn't really get to deal with the Apartement staff? We arrived at night and left REALLY early, but there seems to be someone on the front desk most of the time. All in all, this is a great no-frills place to stay, ideally situated for drives out to Alcudia's walled city with its markets, buzzing port and Porto Pollenca's busy sea front - all surrounded by crystal clear blue sea and stunning mountains.

Just returned from Aucanada after a very relaxing trip. Location of apartments is beautiful, secluded and quiet. Dont go here if you want action, this is the place to get away from it all. We had a car so travelled around the island a lot, especially inland to enjoy the real Mallorca. Apartments are basic but clean and very good value for money. Pool is lovely and the bar restaurant is a little pricey but very chilled with amazing views. We ate at the President hotel's buffet restaurant just 50 yards away a few nights for just 12 euros each .The beach is hard to walk on as its not sand but very quiet. This really isnt the Mallorca seen in most holiday brochures, Aucanada is real hidden gem and not a brit-bar to be seen!

Do not I repeat do not go to this hotel.this was the worse hotel I have ever been to in every way.you cannot walk anywhere because there is nothing nearby. It's a taxi journey to go anywhere, I can't stress enough not to waste your money here.
