Hotel Vistamar offers a serene atmosphere with a particularly relaxing pool bar area and cozy rooms that many guests enjoy, alongside consistent commendations for its cleanliness. While the hotel receives praise for its picturesque location near the beach and friendly staff, some guests feel that the value for money falls short, pointing to overpriced drinks and underwhelming food quality.
Moreover, while the rooms are clean and comfortable, certain travelers find the amenities basic for its rating, and there's criticism regarding the limited availability of the pool, spa, and gym facilities.

So the first thing you need to know about this hotel is that what makes it so special are the people that work here. Without exception they are magnificent. Marie Jesús upon arrival was so helpful and friendly….guiding a very tired and hungry family through the check in process with skill and kindness - the perfect welcome. Throughout our stay we were consistently supported by the wonderful Shalimar who helped make our stay so magnificent with her amazing advice, sublime friendliness and absolute joy. And John at the pool bar was a total star too. Whomever is in charge of recruitment at P&V should be patting themselves on the back right now. Their entire hotel staff were exceptional - from the ninja like room cleaners who seemed to have a sixth sense of when you might be out of the room to the smiley omelette lady and breakfast staff in the morning. They were all amazing. The second thing you need to know about the hotel is that the pool looking out over the sea is as stunning as it looks in the photos ! There are two pools at the hotel and while most people favoured the pool bar, we REALLY enjoyed the beautiful second pool looking over the bay. There were never more than 10 people lounging there so for the most part, we were often the only people swimming. It was like having a huge private pool! So relaxing and a huge shout out to the lovely life guard who looked after my daughter like an absolute legend when she hurt her foot (no fault of the hotel I hasten to add!) A couple of small quibbles…our A/C smelt a bit when you first switched it on, the pool closed at 6pm and the breakfast was a bit ‘samey’ every morning. But the point is, if things had really bothered us we knew we would only have to mention it to a member of staff and it would have been sorted immediately. I would consider opening the pool later though! Swimming at night looking out over the lights of the bay would have been sooo magical! The rooms were extremely clean (see above re fairy cleaners!) and had everything you might need. Most rooms have exceptional views over the bay…..we were on the 6th floor and I could have spent hours looking out from our balcony. Top tip - P&V Vistamar is listed as ‘adults recommended’ so most people don’t consider it if they have children. However, they welcome families. So if you want to avoid the chaos and noise of other people’s children (and have quiet kids yourself to be fair to the other residents!), this is a dream hotel to book! Thank you to everyone at the hotel for helping to make our stay so perfect. You are all superstars!

Dear Ab, Thank you for sharing your opinion after your recent stay at Hotel Vistamar by Pierre & Vacances. It is heartening to hear that your stay with us was so enjoyable. We are thrilled that our attentive staff, the immaculate condition of the rooms, and the stunning views from your balcony contributed to your satisfaction. Our team, including Marie Jesús and Shalimar, strive to offer the warmest of welcomes and the most caring service. We take pride in our dedicated housekeeping team who ensure a spotless environment for our guests. However, we regret to hear about the initial scent from the air conditioning and understand your desire for extended pool hours and a more varied breakfast menu. We appreciate your suggestions and will consider them as we continually seek to enhance our guest experience. We are also sorry that the pool's closing time limited your enjoyment; our aim is always to create magical moments for our guests. Finally, we are pleased that you found the tranquility of our second pool to be a highlight of your stay, offering a serene and almost private swimming experience. As an adult-recommended hotel that also welcomes families, we are glad you appreciated the peaceful atmosphere we aim to maintain. We hope we will have the opportunity to see you again in the future. My sister and I decided to take a 5 day break. Personally we would have gone mad if staying longer. Some really mixed reviews on here and the hotels website doesn't really explain that the facilities are spread over 3 different buildings. Okay you only have to cross a road with a zebra crossing but not what we expected.
The building you attend for breakfast which also houses the restaurant has a pool area which does not open until 12. Dinner is 19.30-21.30 but cannot comment as didn't attend.
The other building has another pool with a pool bar. This doesn't open until 10. You then have to wait until 11 for the pool bar to open. Snack area only serves food from 13.00-15.30. I guess the positive with pool not opening until 10 is that prevents towels being put out early doors!
Depending on what time you arrive at hotel with the 1 hour transfer time you could find yourself very hungry. We didn't find a local supermarket on the doorstep or shops! Walks to the main harbour and marcel beach are a good 25 mins unless you are a fast walker but in 27 degree heat not recommended. My sister and I walked to the beach the other evening, only to find that two or three restaurants were full due to reservations.
I can't complain about the accommodation. Very well cleaned and towels refreshed daily. Breakfast choice was okay but not great, particularly cereals. Hotel could do with a touch of paint in areas for sure but pleasant enough.
Would I stay again. probably not. The hotel location is in a more residential area but we did have a room with sea/harbour views.
Big thank you to pool bar staff who work very hard, particularly evening time whilst the euros have been on.

Dear Angietk, We appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us. We are pleased that you found the cleanliness of the accommodation to your satisfaction and that the view from your room was appreciable. Our staff at the pool bar work diligently to provide excellent service, and we're glad their hard work resonated with you. However, we apologize for certain aspects of your stay falling short of your expectations. We understand that the layout of our facilities across multiple buildings was unexpected and we acknowledge that this may have caused some inconvenience. Our breakfast offerings are designed to cater to a range of preferences and we regret if they did not align with yours. Regarding the opening times of our pool areas and snack services, we strive to balance guest convenience with operational efficiency, and we appreciate your patience in this matter. We will take your comments into consideration as we continually seek to improve our guest experience. Additionally, we have taken note of your remarks on the need for a touch-up of paint in certain areas and will address this to maintain our standards of quality. Finally, we are delighted that the views from your room provided a scenic backdrop to your stay. The location of Hotel Vistamar by Pierre & Vacances offers a unique and tranquil atmosphere, away from the bustling tourist areas, yet close enough to the beautiful Cala Marçal beach and the charming port of Portocolom for those seeking to explore. The entire team really hope we can welcome you back on a future occasion. Kindest regards, Catherine C., General Manager

Just returned from 5 days at this hotel. Pros: Lovely staff, clean rooms, nice view of the harbour, pool is closed by a locked gate until 10am so no getting up at silly o’clock to reserve a sunbed and there is always space. Cons: Breakfast was good but every day was the same stuff, same fruit, same flavour yoghurts etc if they just switched it up a bit breakfast would be excellent. The pool bar that does snacks is ok but again could do better. The cooked food is only 1.30-3.30pm so outside of these hours there is no hot food until dinner time. There are not many shops close by, the one we did find was closed each time we went and the one time it was open and we bought water the hotel staff at the pool do not like you bringing your own food/drink in. Rooms are nice with a mini fridge but it’s empty. They did have a vending machine which we discovered on day 2 but a bottle of water on arrival in the fridge would have been lovely especially as we had been travelling since 10am that morning and didn’t arrive at the hotel until 9.30pm. The coach took around 2 hours to drop everyone off before we got to our hotel. It’s about an hour or so away from Palma airport. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room which was disappointing considering the hotel is meant to be 4*. On our last day breakfast had moved outside near the other pool which was lovely but if you did want to sit inside you couldn’t. The second pool which looked over the harbour didn’t open until 12pm which seemed pointless as I never saw anyone around it and the spa was not open. The indoor pool had no water in it and the sauna and steam room was never on. The massage room was stacked up with building materials and furniture with no spa staff so rather disappointed as we had been looking forward to making use of these. There are several restaurants along the harbour that are nice but some evenings several were closed or empty of customers. It’s very quiet here and I agree with other reviews that you won’t see many people except at breakfast. If the hotel just made a few little changes it could be so much better!

Dear Guest, Thank you for reviewing your recent experience. We are delighted to hear that our staff's hospitality, the cleanliness of our rooms, the splendid view of the harbour, and the pool access policy met your expectations and contributed positively to your experience. However, we regret to hear that our breakfast selection did not offer the variety you desired. Please be assured that we strive to cater to a diverse palate and will take your suggestions into consideration. Regarding the availability of hot food outside the designated pool bar hours, we understand this may have caused some inconvenience and we apologize for any disappointment experienced. We recognize the importance of convenience for our guests and the feedback you've provided is invaluable in helping us review our service offerings. As for the proximity of shops and our policy on outside food and beverages, we aim to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable environment for all our guests while also complying with hotel policies. We apologize if this was not clearly communicated and will work towards better clarity in the future. Your comments regarding the room amenities, specifically the lack of a complimentary water bottle upon arrival and in-room tea or coffee-making facilities, have been noted. We understand these touches can enhance a guest's comfort and will consider them moving forward. We also apologize for any confusion regarding the availability of our spa facilities; we aim to provide accurate information to our guests and regret any misunderstanding. We are pleased to note that the control of pool access and the abundance of space contributed to a relaxing and enjoyable environment during your stay. Rest assured, we are continuously working to improve our services and guest experiences. We are hoping to welcome you back in the future. All the best. Catherine C., General Manager

Recently spent 4 nights with family (all adults), we found the hotel perfect for our holiday. We had booked directly with the hotel and had 2 junior suites on the 7th (top) floor with fantastic views over the bay and the coastline. The hotel's position was perfect with easy walking access to all amenities, the pool with bar was across the road, with another pool which we didn't use along the road next to the restaurant where breakfast was served. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice and good quality, including a cheerful chef cooking omlettes with fillings of your choice. Having read some of the negative reviews regarding the breakfast, I do wonder what people want! The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. There was entertainment some evenings at the pool/bar area, we did go one evening but unless you were there early it was difficult finding a seat. Overall we had a great holiday and enjoyed our stay at the Vistamar.

I understand places are still getting back on their feet after the pandemic, but this place wasn't cheap and we expected a little more for the price and the 4 star rating mainly in the category of food and dining experience. Good 3 star at most in my opinion. We got our room request that we made when booking which we were pleased with and the staff were nice. The view (fabulous) and room decoration and the decoration in lobby/reception warrant its 4 stars but facilities worth 3 stars. The gym is old and not air conditioned, there wasn't even one treadmill. Not that everyone goes on holiday to go to gym but ratings are given according to facilities. The pool toilets and outdoor restaurant toilets are old and nothing to dry hands on. Ashtrays at pool entrance at outside at entrance to reception not emptied and stunk when you walked past. The food choices were just adequate and for us only worth 3 star rating as choices were too limited. At the station where a chef cooks from scratch, there was a wait for them to appear until a queue formed. One evening he did not cook the salmon thoroughly and we had to leave almost the whole meal because it wasn't cooked in the middle. We did not complain but the lead waitress noticed when she walked past and told us it wasn't adequately cooked and she would speak to the chef. Pool bar cocktails not worth nearly 10 euros, go up the hill to the other bars, you get much better drinks for less. I don't think most 4 star hotels would expect you to eat breakfast and dinner on uncomfortable garden furniture, sometimes without cushions and tables that wobble.

Check-in was easy and pleasant. The room was large and bright and had good size balcony with table and chairs. The room was well-equipped and clean. I had requested a kettle int he room when I booked, and when I asked Reception it was provided quickly. The hotel is in a great location at the end of the bay and is really quiet. Breakfast was well-stocked with a great selection that varied day to day.
Portocolom itself is beautiful, totally peaceful and has a great little beach the other side of the bay. There are lots of little inlets nearby and water is crystal clear.
Great little cafe about 5 mins walk around the bay from the hotel, that looks out over the bay.
I would definitely go back

We have just returned after staying at the Vistamar for a week B&B. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location and the view you get of the harbour when you’re having your brekky is as good as it gets. 2 lovely pools one having a bar where you can get drinks and snacks. Great little gym if you want to get a sweat on and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but they are cleaned every day and towels swopped every other, we also got a beautiful view of the bay to wake up to. Breakfast is buffet style with everything you could want, fresh fruit, bread, cheese, bacon, all the usual brekky stuff. What more can you want from a hotel, it’s lovely. You’ve chosen to stay in a large hotel with many other guests, it won’t be silent, if that’s what you want or need, rent a villa. We will defo be back, thanks for an amazing holiday.

My wife and I went to this Hotel on 10th June this year for 7 days and chose B and B. Portocolom is a beautiful resort and the Hotel is in a fabulous position overlooking the bay. Breakfast is served in a seperate site across the road from the Hotel and overlooks the bay( beautiful). There is also a pool and sunbathing facilities here. Breakfast was more than adequate including fruit, yoghurt, bread, pastries and hot food as well as coffee, tea, water and fruit juices. There is another separate site a across from the main Hotel with a pool, pool bar and sunbathing areas. The pool bar also served food. The Hotel room was very nice with a large balcony and side sea view. Lovely good quality clean towels were provided daily. There is Marcal beach a few minutes walk away which is stunning with plenty of bars and restaurants. A bit further walking on from the square is the port itself where there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. If you walk to the other side of the bay towards the lighthouse there are further bars and a lovely secluded beach with a bar. We have been to many resorts in Majorca and Spain and this one of the nicest if not best resorts we have been to. We liked it that much we have just booked to go back again on 25th July. We highly recommend the Hotel and the resort.

I visited this hotel on B&B with friends. We were looking for a relaxing holiday which this definitely was. This best it was definitely the pools.
The second pool which overlooks the boats opens at 12 which felt quit late. We therefore would go to the first pool and switch as soon as we could. The second pool was amazing; it was clean, warm, quite and had an amazing view. We were however let down multiple times when the lifeguard tried to close the pool at least half and hour before it was meant to.
We went B&B and were not at all disappointed with the food. There was a huge selection of food avaible, all fresh and hot. The idea for the omelettes was very smart, allowing us to put the topping in a tub and Passover to the chef without having a language barrier.
The location was very peaceful. If you want to see more than 10 people a day this place wouldn’t be for you. It took us two days to find some more life towards the beach. The beach on the right looks miles away howver if you go straight up the hill it is only 1o minutes with a variety of restaurants to choose from. I would recommend the Mexican as well as a steak place on the opposite side of the beach.
The worst part was our transfer through Onthebeach which took 1 hour to leave and another 2 hours to arrive at our hotel. this wasn’t the hotels fault however though I should include it just in case.
My hotel room was lovely, looking newly well furnished especially the bathroom. However my friend who payed the same amount had a completely different layer out room. The room had no surfaces to put items on as well as the bathroom being more like a wet room which would leak water into their room every time they had a shower. They did let the hotel know and a maintenance man did have a look however it did not seem like there was difference.
Some of the staff were friendly, others were not.
Overall the hotel was good however would not rate it 4/5 compared to other ones I have stayed in.

Hotel is very clean. Stayed for 10 nights bed was changed 4 times. Clean towels everyday. Room was spotless . Bed was really comfortable and nice pillows. No kettle in room , I requested a kettle at reception and it was sent to my room immediately. Breakfast was served buffet style, fresh omelette made as you request. A good variety . Pool area was cleaned everyday. We were able to see the main pool from our balcony . Pool bar served meals and drinks reasonably priced and fresh . A very quiet resort, not a great deal there at all. On a Wednesday a few restaurants close. Views are lovely. All staff at hotel work hard to ensure your satisfaction .
I would not return to Porto colom as I found it to quiet

Dear Dianesu, We appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us. Our team strives to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort, ensuring every guest enjoys a pleasant stay. Porto Colom's tranquil nature is usually a highlight for those seeking peace, but we understand it might not suit everyone's taste.
