We had half-board. The coffee at breakfast was criticized, as a tea drinker I was missing a small pot so that you could brew a larger portion of tea. The fruit salad comes from a can, otherwise breakfast was OK. At dinner it gets quite crowded... as a small hotel the selection is not huge, but the food is generally OK.
The pool on the roof terrace is more like a large bathtub. Swimming is not possible there, it is more intended as a way to cool off on hot days.
Overall it was OK for the money. You can go hiking directly from the hotel or take the bus from outside the door.

The choice at breakfast is very wide, it would however benefit from being of better quality (fruit juices are a mixture of water and undrinkable syrup, bacon is not incredible and cheese is insignificant, everything else was very good). Evening entertainment gives the Impression of being at the campsite... too bad and especially the sound is way too loud! (even closed window the noise was disturbing in the room)
E.g. a self-service coffee/tea machine.
It remains a cosy family hotel with friendly staff and super location!

Definitely book the sea view rooms! Views were great.

Thanksssssssssssssssssssss
The accommodation was excellent with a very comfy bed and bedding changed every day. Food in the restaurant was of a very high level and more than plentiful plus the chef came out every night to make sure that everyone was enjoying the fare.....she looked very happy that most of the food on offer was eaten every night!
Would recommend this hotel highly and we will return next year without doubt.....it does appear to get booked up quickly so youāll have to be fast with your planning. Overall an excellent establishment.

The hotel:
The Hotel Carabela's location is superb. The front of the hotel is situated on a bustling one way street, lined with small restaurants, small bars and small shops. The back of the hotel is on a palm tree lined, promonade directly on the beach. We were lucky to stay on the first floor (room 103) overlooking the beach which was surprisingly quiet, even though we were directly above the hotel's restuarant and on the seafront. Our room was of average size and although it did not have air con our we did have an electric ceiling fan. We had fantastic views from our balcony overlooking the beach and our room was spotlessly clean. The staff were wonderful and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. There was a beautiful modern roof top terrace with spectacular views overlooking the whole of the bay, with a small pool and around 10 sunbeds. Most of the time we had it to ourselves!
The food:
The food was lovely and fresh and very good for a 3* hotel. There was a couple of choices every night of good traditional home cooking. One thing I would say is get in quick with the home made puddings & cakes, as once they're gone they're gone!!
Resort:
There are 3 beautiful sandy beaches in Paguera, all within walking distance. There are no high rise buildings here and say it was quite a small'ish compact resort compared to others on the island. Yes, the resort of Paguera is mainly geared up for Germans and during our stay we only met 3 lots of British. However, this did not bother us one bit. We found this added to the relaxed, child friendly, quiet atmosphere of the resort. This is not a young and lively resort. I think I only saw 1 nightclub which was closed! I would say the age group was mainly over 50's and young families with babies/toddlers wanting to relax.

Quiet v Noise:
As previously mentioned I thought the hotel and medium sized resort of Paguera was fairly quiet considering the fact that it's firstly in Majorca, which is known to be a very busy island. And secondly that the hotel is on a main street. Now this might be due to us going off peak in October. Buses and cars do go past the front of the hotel but this is only one way and they are slow moving. And the pavement sweeper does go past once a day, both on the road and promonade. But there was no noise from bars and clubs and rowdy Brits binge drinking. This is a resort where people have a quiet stroll along the promonade in the evening to walk off their dinner or have a couple of drinks in the bars before they turn into bed. I'd say the noise was minimum bearning in mind the hotel's prime location. Even with a 2,000 capacity marquee set up to celebrate Oktoberfest whilst we were did not generate lots of noise.
Summary:
Lovely hotel in great location made our holiday just perfect..

"Side rooms overlook a walkway which is the entry exit point of the beach and are therefore noisy. The refuge is stored in this walkway and is noisily emptied every morning at 7am."Read full review
