This is a 2 star apartment block BUT the beds are comfy, air con good and lovely and peaceful. The apartments are dated and need an over haul but the staff, every single one of them are brilliant, cannot do enough to help in any way possible.
Fab apartments, a little away from the noise of Palmanova, with a little cove area nearby. Its in easy walking distance to the bars of Palmanova and has a great supermarket across the road. The apartments were full but not noisy in the night. I got a great sleep, beds were comfortable. Clean and tidy. Fresh towels every day.
Stayed at Martha’s from 15th to 22nd June 2019. Wonderful staff, room overlooking the pool; clean, tidy, everything you could need. Desk staff were very helpful, local beach 5 mins. walk, Palma Nova beach 10 mins. walk, supermarket a few minutes away - would happily stay here again any time!
Nice pleasant reception staff, our room 214 overlooked the pool. Very basic but what do you want for the money, you can see money is being spent on the property which is needed. Nice quite residential area which has a few bars and restaurants all within a couple of minutes walk away. A little beach is about 3 minutes walk away which is lovely. Easy to walk into Palma Nova or Magaluf, taxi and bus stop just behind the apartments.
We had read several conflicting reviews on Martha’s apartments so we went prepared for the worst but hoping for the best. Unfortunately the apartments were worse than we had prepared for. Firstly, there is no sign outside giving the name of the apartments. So when you arrive in the dark , you actually have to go inside to ask if you are in the correct location. Secondly we were charged double the winter rate for the tourist tax, although admittedly they did refund the money when questioned. Thirdly the was approximately a €25 fee to use the inroom safe for our 10 day visit . So we purchased a cheap rucksack at a local shop and carried everything with us. The problems didn’t end there. The room was very smelly, so much so that we left doors and windows open all the time, except during the night. The one good thing about the smell was that ,unlike on many other self catering holidays, we actually didn’t feel bad about cooking with onions as they helped to mask the unpleasant smell. The apartment was also dirty. My brand new slippers were black within days ( see photo) plus I had to wash all the crockery and cutlery before we could use it. The bathroom was disgusting . It not only had a musty smell but there were at least 5 layers of paint peeling off the wall by the shower. ( see photos) I admit that the bedding was clean and fresh smelling on our arrival but it never smelled that way again. I’m not convinced that the sheets were ever changed, there was definitely no attempt to make the bed neatly again. Our apartment didn’t receive any sunlight until 5 pm. Normally this wouldn’t have been a problem as we could have relaxed by the pool with a book. Unfortunately the hotel didn’t mention that the entire pool area was being renovated. There was no seating and basically no pool or anywhere to sit outside. There was a good side to this because as it was so unpleasant sitting in the room, we went out walking on the nearby Calvià walkway every day ( see photo) It was superb. You can walk virtually all the way to Palma, plus all the way to Peguera and Santa Ponca. There was also an excellent supermarket just across the road. In fact the location was superb and the only reason why I give the apartments two ‘stars’. I could go on and on but I think that I have made my point. Perhaps we were unlucky but I would have thought that more effort could have been made to give us a decent room as we were staying for 10 days. …
