Nestled in a coveted location, Sol Palmanova Mallorca offers easy access to the beach and nearby attractions, a detail frequently celebrated by guests. The hotel's amenities, including a variety of food and drinks, are generally well-received despite complaints about the limited pool area and the rush to secure sunbeds.
While opinions on value and room quality vary, with some citing economical benefits and others pointing to basic accommodations, the vibrant atmosphere and diligent staff consistently garner positive comments. The hotel's commitment to cleanliness is also acknowledged, though room size can be a concern.

Detailed Reviews
Highly rated on the Jet2 site, but falls way short of expectations of what 4 star should be; more like 2 star in the UK.
The hotel itself is split into PalmaNova 1 & 2 on one site and bridged by the pools and outside area.
The rooms are sparsely decorated with no extra items other than a TV, fridge and safety deposit safe ( that costs €3.50 per day, unless previous guests leave it unlocked).
The beds aren’t really comfortable and the cleanliness of the room and bathroom aren’t great.
The general areas of the hotel such as reception, bar areas seem to be where the investment has been; probably because they expect you not to be in your room much.
Food wise it’s quite dire and not what you would expect from All Inclusive. The choices are repetitive and uninspiring. Unlike other hotels there is not much choice for children from breakfast through to dinner. Basic point is no ‘kids cereals’ like Rice Krispies and other choices are the same burgers etc.
The restaurants differ between 1 & 2 as well, with odd disparity in choices and quality.
There are no theme nights on offer either, all going to a disappointing experience and what led us to eat out locally instead.
The location is good for the beach and local shops/bars etc, with a relatively simple walk to Magaluf about a 1km away.
The plus point of the hotel is it’s staff from reception through to bar. There is a genuine approach to help with problems, service and other matters. They make the experience on this occasion.

We visited as a family with 2 teenage daughters, we have been visiting Palma Nova for over 12years but always stay self catering at the other end of Palma Nova
Booked hotel directly on the Melia website
For a really good price
We had a good stay but there was a few issues so spent a lot of time out of the hotel and had Dinner at local restaurants 3 out of the 6 nights
Hotel’s location is excellent 2 min from beach, surrounded by great restaurants and bars, a bus stop outside if you fancy going exploring
Hotel was spotlessly clean apart from one day the pool area had not been cleaned. The pool does not open until 10 but it never opened on time while we where there it was more like 10:30.
Rooms are on the small side but we only use our room to sleep and get changed in bathroom was a good size with a nice walk in shower, housekeeping came in every day cleaned room and left fresh towels.
We where all inclusive and there was always lots of options at meal times and waiters where friendly helpful and did a great job of setting tables quickly when people left as during our stay the hotel did get busier and started to become harder to find a table,
Bar staff where sometimes a little grumpy but to be honest they where totally understaffed and worked so hard trying to keep the queues down
Reception staff where helpful
Only one lift was working so always queues for lifts
We personally thought the entertainment in the evening was awful, really disappointed that a big hotel chain can employ such poor acts
We could get a sun lounger most days but it did get more difficult the busier the hotel got.
If we did return to the hotel it would only be in early May or October as we don’t think hotel pool, bar and restaurant would be enjoyable with more people ( only sol 1 was open)
There was an incident with an elderly guest during our stay and is one of the reasons we spent more time out of the hotel during the day and evenings just didn’t feel comfortable our teenagers being around him

Just returned today from our family holiday at Sol Palmanova.
The positives
1 Great location
2 Nice rooms
3 Friendly staff very hard working in this very big hotel.
The okay is the food, breakfast and lunch fine however evening meal is not a 4 star hotel standard. Also no dress code literally people having their evening meal in a bikini straight from the pool. This just lowers the standard in my view.
The negatives
1. Not enough sunbeds and they are reserved from 5am. A good hotel policy is to put a ticket on the bed if not used for over an hour and remove the towels. As many reserved all day and no one arrives until 4pm leaving families without sunbeds.
2 the pool does not open until 10am, madness in a family hotel.
Overall a nice holiday but I would not like to be there in late july and August when full capacity. This is a big, busy and loud hotel. If you havent got kids and not keen on constant dive bombing and being sprayed by water guns in the pool i would say go some place else. If your holiday is all about your kids you will enjoy, my son had a great time.

Me and my partner came here last year and had a great holiday, we were skeptical as the price was cheap for an all inclusive right next to the beach but the hotels 4 stars didn’t let them down!! The cleaners are top notch and will clean your room and change ur towels and sheets everyday if you wanted, we would do it every other day as we didn’t really need a full clean each day. Location is perfect, literally less than a five minute stroll to the beach and there is a back entrance with a gate that you can use your keycard on. Food was good, not excellent but great considering how many people they are catering for, there is so much variety from fresh fish and meats everyday to salads, soup, and lots of choice for kids like nuggets and hotdog and burgers. You never will go hungry and this is the second time we have come here and not once have I been sick from the food (my tummy can be quite sensitive). They keep the place really clean which I like. Free bar is great id definitely recommend going for all inclusive of you are coming. *

Stayed here 24th to 31st July. Booked Sol Palmavova but didn't realise there was 2 separate blocks, Sol Palmanova 1 and Sol Palmanova 2.
Shared pool areas to both blocks. Both have separate restaurants and evening entertainment held at Sol Palmanova 2 where the outside stage is. Think there is also evening entertainment on at Sol Palmanova 1 but didn't venture over there on a night due to stage are been in the block we were staying in.
Entertainment team were fab. Always had something on everyday for both kids and adults.
Restaurant was good, plenty of food which was always hot. You will never go hungry. Plenty of choice and your typical All Inclusive.
Only downfall was sunloungers. If you want one, you have to be up at 6am for the privilege. No lie, on our last day, we had to be up early to be picked up. Went onto balcony at 6am and saw people at the pool area putting down towels. There was even towels already down so god knows what time those people were up.
The pool at Sol Palmanova 2 is smaller than the other one and there are simply too many sunloungers for a smallish pool. Management could do with enforcing the no towels before 9am rule they advertise on the screens in reception. Or at least, if not used within 2 hours of been put down, move them so someone else can use them. It's the only hotel I've stayed at where the sunlounger issue has been abysmal. The pool is fenced off so doesn't actually open at crack of dawn, however sun loungers are still able to be reserved which is all wrong in my eyes.
Bar needs more staff as queue gets big on a night time as both blocks converge in the same area for evening entertainment.
Location is ideal and 3 min walk of the beach. 25 min wall into Magaluf if that's your thing.
Had no issues wirh room service, beds quite comfy and cleaned daily. Nice.snack bar with easy access and typical snacks, pizzas, burgers, toasties, chips and ice cream. Self service soft drinks and beer at snack bar.
All in all it is a nice, clean hotel. Decoration appears in good condition and the staff were always cleaning around the pool clearing up glasses that people had left.
Don't really have any complaints other than the sun lounger issue and hope Management read this review and take action as that is its only downfall.

Room
Room was always kept clean by hotel cleaners always coming in everyday at reasonable times to clean, and replace our towels and bedding with new clean ones
There was a good amount of space in bedroom but the air conditioning wasn’t working so every night we’d be extremely hot.
It would have been better to have a double bed like requested instead of two single beds put together as the beds kept moving.
Also, even though you don’t come on holiday to watch tv all the channels are in Spanish and not one was in English apart from the two channels.
There was no iron in the room, so we had to pay for a iron which was €7.50 for three nights and also put down a €10 refundable deposit which we did get back.
Location
Location of the hotel was great and every night there was something to do if you went out and about.
Food
There was not much of a selection, everyday was mainly the same food - only the food that was cooked in front of you would change on some days.
Snack bar was very good but we found it on the last day due to not fully being shown or told where certain things were.
All Inclusive
We got an all inclusive package for two and what we experienced at the hotel wasn’t really inclusive.
Bar was only open till midnight but after that you would have to pay even though you are inclusive, only the water machine was available if you wanted anything to drink. Also, there are only an certain selection of drinks you can have which is included in the inclusive package if you want anything other than that you’d have to pay.

We have been coming to this hotel for 19 years and this was our last visit.
Good points:
Enough sun beds by the pool (a lot of them in the shade all day)
Location, close to shops, bars, beach etc
Reception, really helpful when asked questions and being checked in. Plus all our rooms were ready in arrival.
Tables cleaned quickly in restaurants, so was always able to get somewhere to sit
Bad points:
Food, we never had a hot meal. Even when fresh trays of food we added, they were still cold. We used the microwave, but even that did not warm the food enough.
The food was also very much the same everyday and is nothing like it used to be.
We tried both restaurants Sol 1 and 2, the food was a bit warmer in Sol 2, but not much.
Loudness in hotel, due to groups staying amd partying, as they cannot stay in Magaluff, due to the 6 drink restrictions. The behaviour of some was awful and no respect for others. This was day and night.
Not enough staff in behind the bar. The queues in the evening were ridiculous. The ladies behind the bar worked so hard and some of the men. However, some men would walk away, instead of serving.
Our rooms faced the street side of Sol 1 and all we could see is most of the restaurant staff outside smoking constantly. This included the chefs, so maybe this is why the food is so cold all the time. Plus it doesn't look very hygienic.
Beds are ao hard and so uncomfortable, that you are unable to have a decent sleep.
We went as couples amd family members, which we have been doing for 19 years and we all feel the same about this hotel now.
It is a shame, as it could be great, just as it used to be, but these things let's the hotel down badly. We understand the hotel has to make money back from Covid. However we are paying a lot of money for a holiday and for it to be spoilt by all of the above and more is not on really.
We complained about the food, but nothing improved throughout our stay. Lots of people were complaining and nothing was done. People were told to use the microwave!
We stayed at the pool one day and due to the amount of people having no respect for others, we went to the beach each day. Sunbeds and parasol were €13.50.

We have just returned from an enjoyable stay at the Sol 2, we arrived at around 11:30 and were a little surprised to find that our room was not available until 14:00. We made our way to the snack bar and helped ourselves to a drink etc, there were various drinks and snacks available at the snack bar, so all was well.
There are two hotels on the site, Sol 1 and Sol 2 they are set around two Pools and a large, terraced area with chairs and tables etc.
We had the card for our room at 13:40, we had requested a low floor room in a quiet area of the hotel and the hotel provided this for us.
The room was of average size, we had requested a double bed but were provided with two singles, never mind you can't have it all ;-) the room was spotless and had all the usual amenities.
The hotel to be fair was spotless throughout, the reception had a nice and airy feel to it, the receptionists were very helpful but a little unfriendly at times and did not offer a greeting to guests unless prompted by the guests, we found the waiters and waitresses in the restaurants to be similar in their demeanour too:-(
As I have mentioned the hotel is set over two sites and we could use the facilities in either hotel. We ate mostly in our hotel apart from the evening meals, I know this is probably a British complaint but what we did find was that apart from the paella, chips and meat that was cooked on the griddle in front of you the rest of the food was luke warm at best, I got a bit fed up with it and I wasn't the only one, we saw platefuls of uneaten food being cleared by the waiters and waitresses, a great shame given the price of food etc.
There was a microwave available to re heat the food, but surely this should not be necessary.?
The hotels are located in an ideal area of Palmanova, about 400 metres from both Palmanova and Son Matias beaches, close enough to walk to and from between meals and drinks at the hotel, the hotel is a little cramped on plot and I would not like to think what it would be like if it was at full capacity.
The entertainment team were absolutely brilliant they involved themselves with all guests, whether they took part in the activities or not and they all wore a huge smile on their faces at all times and always greeted us.
The hotel has a great deal going for it as I have mentioned, cleanliness, proximity to the beach and surrounding areas but it really does let itself down with the way the food is served in the restaurants.
Unfortunately, due to this fact we would not book here in the future.

Great family hotel which we found to be spotlessly clean, the rooms are on the small side and could do with the kettle but have everything else you could want. The hotel reception and bar staff were all extremely friendly as were the restaurant staff. Restaurant cleanliness was great there was plenty of food to choose from the only downside was towards the end of our week it was a little bit repetitive but that’s the joy of an all-inclusive holiday. Hotel entertainment kids club everything about this hotel is really great and we have stayed here before 10 years ago and will definitely stay again. The only downside is the Sun loungers which I’m aware that sometimes you have to get up a little bit early to try and reserve which seems normal practice no matter where you go. However at this hotel people actually start putting their towels on the Sun loungers from midnight onwards. We came down on the first day at 7 am and there are no sun lounges available as all were reserved. When I asked the hotel management I was informed that as long as people use them during the day they didn’t have a problem with this and that the only thing they could suggest was for me to join them. Such a shame that the hotel take no responsibility as we even witness one night a massive argument at around 12 am over sun lounges. So overall I would definitely recommend this hotel in every way it’s so close to the beach shops restaurants 10 minute walk into Magaluf two minute walk to the beach really couldn’t fault it. I just hope the management take responsibility and try and sort out the Sunlounger situation as this would stop me wanting to go again as like I said I don’t mind coming down a bit early sitting by the pool but being told you have to get up in the middle of the night to reserve a Sunlounger is ridiculous

The rooms are tiny and very shabby. They will not honour room booking and the are 2 hotel buildings and one is nothing like the photos online but both are dreadful. I had three room changes, one had black mould. I left after one night.
Yes my daughter and I did that this year with no problems
