Perfect hotel in the mountains of Mallorca, very helpful staff, great room - large and comfortable. Nice pools, great restaurant with excellent food and staff. Great breakfasts. Perfect for relaxation, hiking, and endurance cycling. Crazy road going up to the hotel, especially from Bunyola. Only hesitation is because of the extreme roads & driving needed its not as easy to get to the beach as we expected before we arrived.

First, a shout out for the staff. Without exception, they were friendly, polite and helpful. Special mention to always-smiling Angel, but Pedro, Andreu (who doesn't smile so much) were also great. All of them couldn't do enough to help. Thank you guys. Location - a stunning spot in the Sierra Tramuntana. Rather isolated and the approach roads are challenging to say the least - especially from the Bunyola side (recommend you always approach from the East via Alaro). The Village of Orient is about 25 mins walk and worth a stroll for a pre-dinner drink. Rooms: Get a suite. The slightly higher price is well worth it. They are cooler and much nicer. We started in a 'superior double' and it was way too hot at night, the aircon needs replacing and the room was 'tired'. We then moved to a suite and it gave an altogether different experience. Food: Breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice and various egg dishes done to order. They have a juicer to make your own smoothies etc. We never had lunch so can't comment. Dinner is very good but not outstanding. There is plenty of choice (4 fish dishes, 4 to 6 meat dishes plus pastas etc) so enough for a reasonable length of stay. Portions are over-large though and I would rather have less food and more variety in the vegetable accompaniments. The pool is very pleasant with enough sunbeds for around 30 people (only 20 rooms so that was never absolutely full). Some guests at the hotel had been coming back for years - up to 20 years! - and I can understand why. So, not flawless, but a lovely place nonetheless and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

First stayed in 1987 and visited many times over the years. Now with a house in Deiá, it is still good to go back for a night or two of luxury. The reception staff are great and will help with all requests. The restaurant with Pedro, Angel and Andrew is a delight. The overall experience is first class with the welcome back and wonderful rooms for a fantastic stay.

One of the best holidays ever. What a beautiful hotel in wonderful surroundings. The staff are amazing with a great eye for detail. The food was excellent, the rooms comfortable with nice spacious balconies. All in all four very happy visitors- we will DEFINITELY be back.

The only thing disturbing the peace is an occasional goat in the background. Our room was great (junior suite), spacious and well kept. Pool and dining area sufficient (though don’t expect first class kitchen) and the included breakfast worked fine. Free parking with plenty of space. Also some nice hiking trails nearby. Why not try the one taking you to the Alaro monastery, 90 minutes walk uphill (not too demanding) with superb views on the way up

The hotel is set in a beautiful and rural location basically on its own, there are many walking trails near by. As you walk up to the hotel it looks stunning. It is perfect if you are not bothered about doing anything out of the hotel, local taxis end at 9pm so you have to eat in the hotel restaurant unless you eat early. The restaurant was interesting, it had high prices yet the food didn't reflect those prices, the food wasn't the best though edible. That being said the staff and service was amazing, they were all so lovely. The rooms felt like they had been modernised but on the cheap, they were basic yet 100% clean which is always nice. The pool is ok and the spa/gym are small, the tennis courts looked run down and abandoned. Overall the hotel is very divisive and I think people either love it or hate it, it wasn't my sort of hotel but I can easily see how people love it. I would say do your research and see if its the right fit for you. If you like boutique, very rural, quiet hotels then this is the place for you.

A wonderful retreat hotel with friendly staff, a great restaurant and delicious Spanish wine list. Arrive after your meandering drive through the mountains to be greeted by friendly staff and shown to your simple but delightful room. A great venue at an affordable price! Definitely worth a visit, especially for cyclists and walkers!

Stunning hotel which was originally a monastery. Wonderful, peaceful location. Great staff and spotlessly clean. Great breakfasts. Easy drive from Palma airport. Make sure you take road from Alaro and not through Bunyola! You definitely need a hire car and be aware hotel do not offer this service, so make sure you book to pick up at airport. Also remember that as it is in the mountains it can be cloudy, sometimes rainy and definitely a good 3 degrees cooler than the coast (which is an easy drive away.

Just returned from a short stay at this beautiful hotel , after a busy time at work and in our home life , we wanted somewhere to stay where we could relax and recuperate- this was the place ! The hotel itself is absolutely charming, we stayed in a junior suite which was large ,light , and spotlessly clean with a private terrace overlooking olive groves . The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful ,nothing was too much trouble for them whether it was sorting out a bike problem or searching for a lost earring! We cycled during the day and then relaxed by the lovely pool on comfortable beds in the afternoon. The location in heart of the Orient valley is stunning and so peaceful. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough- we wii certainly be back .
