As a vegetarian I enjoyed every halfboard meal. Excellent food, creative cooking as well. The peacefullness overall at the hotel was lovely. Most of the staff were very friendly. Rooms were nice and clean and comfortabel. Unfortunately no private beach; that would make a holiday complete.

Junior suite was very spacious. Large room, large shower and huge terrace. Breakfast had everything you could possibly want. Everything was very clean. Pool area not at all crowded - I could always get sunbed and shade. Very good location for bus (to Palma) , beaches and restaurants , shops. Only downside was having only one pod for the coffee machine. You could purchase more from reception. Reception very helpful at all times.

This was my third visit to Universal Hotel Don León. It is a lovely hotel situated on the seafront, with great food and very friendly and attentive staff. I visited at a time when Europe was just beginning to emerge from the pandemic and people were just starting to take holidays again, and it felt very safe at this hotel. It was evident during my stay, that a lot of care had been taken to keep the guests and staff safe - with social distancing measures, face coverings by staff, good ventilation and plentiful hand sanitizers in common areas. I was half board, and the food was great, with lots of cooked and continental breakfast choices; and 5 course (yes 5 course!) evening meals - if you include the salads and the deserts. I can’t state enough how lovely and friendly all the staff were – from the reception staff through to the restaurant and bar staff. As on my previous stays, I found all the staff to be genuinely friendly and professional, and despite being a fairly large hotel, it did not feel impersonal as you sometimes find in similar size places. This friendliness, plus my great room, the cleanliness and general ambience of the hotel, made for a really wonderful stay at Universal Don León. The welcoming bottle of Cava in my room when I arrived, plus the daily free bottles of mineral water were additional nice touches. Colonia de Sant Jordi, where is hotel is located, is a relatively quiet place and doesn’t have a rowdy nightlife, so it’s probably not the holiday place for party animals. There are however many restaurants and bars in the town and a friendly and social evening atmosphere. The town is close to some of Mallorca’s best beaches, the most notable ones being “Es Trenc” which is about a 40 minute walk away from the hotel, and “Es Carbo”, which is about the same distance in the other direction, and there are a few smaller beaches in between both. I should say that the majority of guests at Universal Don León are German, but this should not deter English-speaking visitors, as I felt well catered for at the hotel, and all the guests (mainly couples and young families) were polite and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It’s great value for money and I would definitely stay there again.…

I have been to this hotel several times and have so far never been disappointed with the service, friendliness of the staff, cleanliness and comfort. In this year covid 19, all hygienic and safety measures are high priority at the hotel. Thank you to all staff for making my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Excellent rooms, very good conditions, very clean, super friendly and professional staff. Rooms are large with nice view, very quiet. Excellent pool facilities. Great food with specific menu for vegetarian and gluten free, however not specific for lactose free. Right near the sea with swimming access using stairs (sand beach approx 10-15 min).

Nice location right at the sea (sandy beach is somehow 10 minutes walk away). Room is clean with a daily free large bottle of water. Food is excellent with wide choice of wine. Staff is always friendly!

A beautiful hotel with a beautiful garden and swimming pool. Great food, staff and services. Enter the sea after the stairs. The beautiful beach of Es Trance is about 2 km away. We were very pleased and would be happy to return to this hotel again.

The hotel location is perfect, right by the sea with beautiful views from the room and direct access to the promenade. Comfortable rooms and friendly helpful staff just made a pleasent stay. The food was very nice, with good variety of local and international dishes. Highly recomended!
