Alua Camp De Mar is a lovely quiet hotel set in a beautiful location overlooking a sandy cove. The staff were all great and the rooms cleaned everyday and kept spotless. We went all inclusive and out of school holidays and found ourselves in a relaxing place with plenty of loungers and space to chill with nearby towns worth exploring if you fancy it. There was plenty of choice when it came to food and entertainment was provided every night. I think this resort would suit young families or people looking for a quiet chilled out holiday. If you’re looking for excitement and a party scene with surrounding nightlife /clubs this isn’t the place to stay and other resorts would be more suitable.
We booked HB in the Alua for 10 nights in August. We took a taxi from the airport, but there is a good bus route that drops you off 3 min walking from the hotel, so that is fine too. One way taxi fare from the airport was 55 Euro. The late night Prosecco welcome at the hotel was appreciated. The staff was very friendly and there was some food left in the restaurant for late arrivals like us. We got a sea view room on the 5th floor and, although quite compact, the great view made up for the size. No coffee/tea facilities in the room but everything else was there and the cleaners keep everything immaculate. The buffet breakfast and dinners were good, a bit repetitive, but the quality was good and free fizzy drinks/wine/beer with the dinner service is a nice touch. The hotel has a lovely pool and plenty -if not old fashioned- sun beds around the pool. In our opinion the crazy paving around the pool could do with modernising like in the neighbouring Grupo Hotel and the aforementioned sun beds look a bit dated. Kudos to the pool man though, who kept the pool area pristine. The beach is on your door step and the bay is gorgeous. Lovely for plenty of swims. There are only a few shops and restaurants around and nightlife is very quiet. For more entertainment you’ll have to go to neighbouring resorts, only 5 min away, and for which there is a taxi stand just outside the hotel. We had a great time and could recommend a holiday here. A special thanks to Katrin and Alexia at reception, you were great!…
Stayed here for 4 nights, with the all-inclusive package. Hotel was immaculately clean throughout, and every member of staff we encountered was friendly and efficient - particular shout out to Vanesa for her great service at the Pool Bar and Katrin at check in for showing us the room selection. There was never any issue finding a sunbed in a good spot. We opted to pay the €5 for the shoreside beds, but they gave us a voucher for a free bed at check in. The food was way better than we have seen at similar hotels. Entertainment on 3 of the nights was ok, but the Flamenco dancing trio was incredible to watch. Location is stunning in the bay, and everything about this hotel is a positive. Only criticism: get more irons for the guests! Great stay and will definitely come back.
If you’re looking for a chilled break by the beach you can’t fault this hotel. The staff are attentive & always willing to help we upgraded to a sea view on arrival for 40€ extra but did not regret given the spectacular sea views. Food is good there’s something for everyone meats, fish , pasta , salads etc & a wide selection of puddings . We also took advantage of the spa area & I had a massage which was lovely 😊 Going home feeling very refreshed , thank you ! X
I didn’t know what my expectations were but this hotel exceeded them by far. We wanted a quiet and chilled week away and that’s what we got with excellent staff to greet us. San Miguel on tap and a lovely clean hotel with a great range of food and drink and evening entertainment. Pool was lovely. Room was clean and the spa was ideal for the rainy morning we had on the last day. The setting is perfect, right on the beach. Can’t fault it and will be back for sure. The staff were the best - thank you Alua Camp De Mar 😘
Stayed here during the first half of April, I believe the hotel had only just opened for this season. This was our first holiday abroad for our 3 children (and Mum and Dad's first time abroad for 17 years!). Overall, the hotel was very good, brilliant location right next to the beach with great views (apart from the nice beach the rest of the resort was tiny and like a ghost town though! We knew it would be small but didn't expect there to be literally nothing to do, but as a place to just relax and chill out it was fine, the beach was always uncrowded too even when it was hot, although I expect it gets much busier later in the year). The food was pretty good for an all inclusive resort, obviously a fair amount of repetition but always something new to try, my only disappointment was having had octopus on our first night I was looking forward to trying it again but it never reappeared during the 12 nights that we were there! The staff were also all excellent, from the reception, dining room and cleaning staff everybody was always really friendly and helpful. Having read previous reviews I was looking forward to meeting the legendary Isma but it seems he's not there any more, however his replacement Sergio was also excellent and did a great job keeping everyone entertained, I was fascinated by his ability to effortlessly switch between at least 4 languages, he and the girl (Beatrice?) were great with our kids, who have autism and aren't very outgoing but Sergio and Beatrice were great and patient with them. However, there were just a few little niggles - On the second night, we had a nasty experience after dinner, getting stuck in the lift. This was very traumatic for our girls, as previously stated they have autism, it soon got very hot, and they became very upset. We spoke to someone via the alarm intercom who turned out to be from the lift company and not from the hotel reception as we had thought, communication was difficult as their English wasn't too good so we didn't know if things were progressing or not. I tried ringing the hotel directly from my mobile but it turned out that the number on the website was actually the booking office in Madrid who told us to ring back the next morning! Eventually they agreed to contact the hotel directly, when we were eventually released by an engineer after 25 minutes the reception had only just found out that we'd been trapped, as they couldn't hear the alarm sounding from the lift. We'd actually noticed some maintenance work taking place on it earlier that morning so it obviously hadn't been left in a good state. The experience has left my daughters traumatised by the lift, possibly for life, as even now almost two months later they refuse to get in any lift and get upset by them even if they see one on TV. The smoking area was right outside the main entrance, not pleasant to walk through. The double bed being two beds put together was rather odd. Some of the services such as the playground and the football area were unavailable due to Covid restrictions, obviously not the hotel's fault. Also the swimming pool was virtually unusable as it was so cold, again not the hotel's fault as it was still early in the season and the weather had been chilly (fortunately it improved and got warmer whilst we were there) but maybe some kind of heating would be in order for the cooler months. So overall, a very pleasant holiday, marred only by the unpleasant experience in the stuck lift. Would I return? Not sure, probably, the hotel was fine but the resort itself was a bit of a letdown. But if we want to just chill out and do nothing else. I'd definitely come back here.…
What a fantastic stay! We stayed for a week all inclusive and we couldn't fault it, the food was amazing, our room was spotlessly clean and the hotel staff went above and beyond during our stay! All the staff made us feel so welcome and we loved the surrounding views of the sea and mountains. We cant wait to come back next year!
Wow, what a fabulous holiday. We have just returned home from a fantastic relaxing all inclusive week at the Alua Gran camp de Mar, and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a good quality hotel in a quiet resort. Everything from our room and public area’s which were spotlessly cleaned daily, to the extensive range of tasty food and the efficient dining room staff headed by Fransico, to the afternoon snacks and pool bar with Vanesa and colleagues was perfect. The key to the hotels success is the staff who were always friendly, efficient, approachable, and keen to please. We are really looking forward to our next holiday there.
We stayed here in April right at the start of the season, we really enjoyed our stay. The fact a family room is 2 rooms with an adjoining door is brilliant, plenty of space and means two bathrooms, no sharing with the kids! Nice and clean. Lovely views. Staff were all lovely except for one man in the restaurant who really embarrassed me for wanting a full sized table to eat at with my additional needs 4 year old instead of being squashed onto a table designed for 2 people. It's fine with 4 adults who are able to mind others but not a child who cannot understand these things. I do not have enough praise for Sergio who organised the entertainment, an absolute delight and amazing at his job, not too pushy, our daughter loved him. We have just booked to return next year and he is one of the reasons why. The small indoor pool is a nice touch as the weather wasn't great when we visited and the kids wanted to swim. The hotel is in such a beautiful setting, a nice quiet area which is what we want when holidaying. The food is good, what you expect from AI, only thing we didn't really like was desserts but the savoury stuff was really good. Hot, well cooked? We never had an issue with undercooked food. Breakfast is wonderful. Can't wait to come back in June when we will have the weather too!…
Booked last minute for a chilled couple days. Ideal location for this, views are unreal and lovely beach 15 metres from the hotel. Balcony view out the back was also stunning and rooms modern and clean. Staff were amazing, especially Armando, Vanessa, Noelia & Pablo. Great walks either side of Camp de Mar also for something to do. Will definitely be back. 🏴
