Great resort! It is very big, but feels smaller because it is spread out over a large area with different pools and restaurants. Food was good. Staff very friendly! Corona measures were sufficient and we felt safe. For home trip we were able to take a Corona test at the hotel which was very convenient.

Checked in to the hotel, i was given a 4 floor room, which had a blown patio door window, which i could hardly see out of. An water damaged wooden floor and a moldy pasta bol in the wardrobe and a dirty room. I went back down to reception and explained i wanted another room, but because the hotel was full they could move us. They could only clean the room and they would move us tomorrow. Let’s say i was mad. However nothing i could do. They promised a downstairs room the next day. There’s a few rules in the hotel which made it harder for us with a 18month old. Such as Meal times, evening meal not until 7pm and the gym not opening until 10am to 6pm. The next day the downstairs room was nice, however fridge didn’t work and the sink was blocked so after a few engineers later all was sorted. The only other thing that went wrong was a faulty lock on the door. One day it just didn’t lock called reception they replaced the lock. I think all this could have been sorted before i moved into the room. All it needed was a checklist to make sure everything works. After the first few days we settled into the holiday the pools good for children and plenty for them to do. The staff are nice and the food is good with variety. The hotel is a large hotel, it next to the beach and cliffs. This hotel is perfect for kids and young families. We spent 10 day there and didn’t want to leave in the end as we got into a routine and there’s plenty of room for young children and plenty for them to do There’s 5 or 6 pools. 3 or 4 restaurants Loads of activity during the day and at night.

I read recent reviews before we arrived. A few grumpy ones. I had to plan for me and three boys with pcr tests and spanish fcs health forms etc..lotsa plannimg, easy airport process. We got here late sunday night. Kids hungry. Check-in so good. Pep was awesome. Listened. Showed me the room. Organised an extension cable ..no sockets for my phone charger near the bed..showed me the restaurants and hotel layout. The pools are great. The restaurants have variety and nothing is bad. The food trucks save you dressing for the buffet lunch. There are sports fir tge kids. Staff are covid-educated. Local shop not exorbirtant. The shows, like most places, can be cheesy, but tonight they had a great rock band and hundreds of people were jumping. Everything is tended to well. Pool entertainment , shows, teenage clubs. The all -inc wine is ok, the food is fine and varied. Sushi and fish tonight. People manicuring lawns early. You do need to grab your pool beds early..like most places. Four days in. 10 to go. I have not tried excursions. They can be booked. Pool games, water polo, other fun all there. This was a substitute booking. Very happy. I booked interconnecting rooms for me and three boys. Perfect. It misses a pool bar and pool waiters. Towel change at 10 is too late. Overall, yes , i would return.

Good things: Nice hotel for a family holiday, many activities for kids, beautiful swimming pools, many sport classes for adults. Its a small village with boutiques, playgrounds, beach. There is everything to relax and enjoy. Rooms are big, clean with a small kitchen. Shows at night are pleasant. Bad things: You ear everything your neighbours do, walls are tiny and food is average. A lot of choice but not always tasty, fresh and good quality. Its a huge hotel so its probably not easy to manage that much quantity. Anyway it was a good holiday for us and kids were happy.

We have just finished 6 days in Alcudia Iberostar ciudad Blanca and are now three days into a 6 day stay in Cala Barca. The two are very different. Ciudad was beach front and quite intimate, Cala Barca is expansive and fun. My kids are 12 and 13, I wish we’d discovered this hotel when they were 6 as it is kiddie heaven! We are loving our stay. I recommend hiring the kayaks and visiting Cala mondrego in the natural park, the beach is incredible. Also recommend a visit to Cala d’or for its pretty more modern town. We are looking forward to visiting Cala Figuerra tomorrow too. Block 34 family room was great as we had a sea view though if you have young ones I recommend you stay closer to the kids pools in the athletic pool area as it’s quite far. Loved breakfast on the beach restaurant. Have met some lovely people. I do not recommend for anyone without kids as there are a lot of children here but all in a good way, I would tell you if it wasn’t able to accommodate it but the Place is so large it does. Enjoy!
