Inturotel Azul Garden garners praise for its impeccable cleanliness and well-maintained grounds, with the pool area being a particular highlight for guests seeking a refreshing dip. The tranquil atmosphere is perfect for relaxation, although updates are suggested to reinvigorate the room decor. While the rooms are spacious and generally meet guests' standards, some report inconsistent housekeeping.
The staff receives accolades for their professionalism and friendliness, enhancing the overall experience despite occasional service hiccups. While on-site services may carry a premium, the hotel's excellent location close to the beach and local attractions offers guests both peace and convenience.

Detailed Reviews
Pros:
Large pool, quiet ish and could get sunbeds all the time. Might not be the case in the main summer holiday.
Rooms whilst dated have plenty storage and are clean.
Close to the beach.
Can use the main Azul or Esmerelda restaurants. We chopped and changed to suit us just let them know at the small reception.
Cons:
Pool has a few sharp tiles on the bottom. Saw quite a few kids with bleeding toes.
Cleaning is not done on a Tuesday or Sunday so keep your towel’s hung up.
No pool entertainment or music.
Pool bar is expensive for drinks and ice creams and the drinks are watered down. Buy your own and enjoy by the pool.
Buffets are ok, but hectic and dining feels rushed and busy.
Entertainment at the Esmerelda is poor and drinks are expensive.
We have been to Cala d or many times staying in the Esmerelda before as well as the Cald d or Playa and Sa Marina both of which are better hotels. The Azul is great if you have been here before, know where to go for nice lunches and better drinks and know the Spar shops and the old Suma supermarket now called Super Bip up the road. Don’t use the Spars near the hotel they are 3 times the price. If this is your first holiday here you may fall into the trap of paying over the odds and sitting at entertainment that isn’t great. If you book it, go self catering and get out and about. Try the harbour and waves bar, Bon Sol is excellent for lunch, Cala Gran is not far and a flatter beach, the super Bip supermarket is out of the hotel past paparazzi to the end of the road, turn right up to the top and they do sandwiches and a can for 2 euros and you can sit outside in tables in the shade. Ice creams are cheaper in Spar shops further away. Spain is definitely on board with not wanting tourists to drink so drinks out and about like Aperol are very weak. Buy duty free! It’s a lovely place hence why we come back but it does pay to be adventurous and find your spots!

This location is excellent with two beaches within very short walking distance from the hotel. There are another two coves take around 10 mins. The pool is cleaned daily before 7:30 am is very clear and never feels too crowded. ith a lifeguard and big shallow end area and spacious deep end. The rooms are cleaned daily apart from two days. The restaurant food is fantastic , prawns, Mussles, roast, pork, chicken, turkey and amazing breakfasts. We would definitely come back here. Great for kids under 14. We are a family of four from Surrey and felt the resort has lovely mix of decent people. The whole resort is also decent. There are so many other pools you can use in the Interotel site, we didn’t though as we liked a short walk to the pool from our room. The staff are lovely and friendly. There is a supermarket at the front and back of the hotel.

Firstly the staff are friendly and helpful, we felt very welcomed to the resort - one grumpy staff member only that met! The holiday overall was lovely, rooms are very basic (bed are comfy though!) with minimal items for a self catering holiday, so we did eat out every night (naughty!) this added up the cost of our holiday which I try to avoid on self catering holidays. The pool area at Cala Azul Gardens is really nice and clean, being there in April meant it was not busy, no screaming under 1m monsters running about. Pool was rather “nippy” but once in and swimming it was lovely! Life guard on duty also and they also do water arobics if you’d care to join for free. There is also a pool table for 1euro and free table tennis as well as a pool bar that serves food and drink and of course ice cream! We wandered to the Cala Esmarelda Resort which is open to Cala Azul Garden residents however this resort was more crowded and noisy, this is where you find the evening entertainment and the closest coved beach area. There are other little beach areas within 10 minutes walks. Cala Dor it’s self is a short walk from the resort, lots of typical little shops and restaurants, do not be fooled by the map they give you thinking you need a bus to get there! I cannot actually fault the Cala Azul Garden resort, the decor is a bit out dated but you’re really not in there long enough to be bothered by it - maybe one day they will brighten it up. I will say though be prepared to be woken by fire alarms in the evenings/night when the self catering dimwits try to cook toast at 1am! My son found this rather hilarious.

Spent 10 days here and was pleasantly surprised. Smaller and quieter than sister hotel. In a good location with buses and the little train starting from just across the road with bus timetables on display. Supermarket next to bus stops. Plenty of really good restaurants and bars within a few metres of the hotel plus shops, supermarkets and bike hire on the doorstep. Cala Ferrera and
Cala Esmeralda just few minutes walk.
Plenty of hot water although shower is over the bath. Shampoo etc provided and good hairdryer with big, bright mirror over the basin. Lots of hanging space, both in the bedroom and entrance area.
Nice patio with 2 entrances from the apartment. One from the lounge area and the other from the bedroom.
2 sofas plus coffee table and TV in lounge area plus table, chairs, and small kitchenette with a small fridge.
Pool area set out well with plenty of sunbeds and chairs with the pool bar serving a selection of drinks ( great sangria), snacks and lunches plus icecreams.
If you require a Covid test for return flight you can book appointment at reception. Tests are conducted across the road in one of the rooms. Cost for lateral flow test €30 pp. Accept cash or card. Need to take your passport with you.
Our only criticism is that we requested an early morning wake up call which never materialised.

Fantastic holiday at Cala Azul gardens!
Myself and my family (husband and daughters aged 19 and 12) loved it.
It was the perfect location, not too far out from Cala D’or but just far enough so it was peaceful! Very close to 2 lovely beaches and some lovely restaurants (Andy’s bar being our favourite) There were a couple of well stocked supermarkets right by the entrance so you could get water and food etc. I’d recommend a walk into Cala D’or itself it has some lovely bars and restaurants and has a lively atmosphere at night. We loved it.
The pool area was great, always clean and tidy, we went in July so it was busy but it was definitely quieter than the other Inturotel hotels that you could use (Cala Azul park and Esmeralda park) we always managed to get some sunbeds but it was harder to get the sun umbrellas for shade. We got given an umbrella by someone who was leaving and we propped that up for some shade, there was quite a few people doing that. There was a lovely garden area with lots of sunbeds under the trees but that was a little bit further away from the pool but lovely and peaceful with plenty of shade.
We were very lucky and had a pool view from our ground floor room. (Room 120) We liked the fact the ground floor balcony’s were fully enclosed so we felt safe, you couldn’t get from the balcony to the pool area there was no gate it was completely enclosed, there was also a hedge in front. We preferred that rather than straight out onto the pool area especially if you have little ones you know you could leave the patio door open and the children couldn’t escape!
The room itself was nice, air con good, there was a safe (which you need to pay for) good size bedroom and the sofa beds were comfy enough for us in the living area. We also had Wi-Fi in the room which was good for my 2 daughters! The cleaners did a fabulous job and came 5 out of 7 days. We ran out of toilet roll and the reception sorted some out for us quickly. All the staff we spoke to were nice and friendly.
The pool side bar was lovely too with some nice snacks (food served 12-4 only though)
The first morning we were woken by the cockerels at about 7am but you honestly get used to them and by the end of the holiday we weren’t even noticing them!
We had a late flight and had to vacate the room by 11am but at the Cala Azul park (2 minute walk away) you could leave you luggage in their luggage room and use the shower and changing facilities which we did. The reception there provided clean towels so we didn’t need to use our own. Also we found a little library by their reception where you can borrow the books if you’ve finished reading yours rather than buying another one! We left a few that we had read rather than bringing them home too.
We would definitely recommend coming here and we would love to come back!
Thank you for a wonderful holiday Cala Azul Gardens!

We have paid a lot of money through Jet2 to stay at the “Esmeralda Resort” and so far it’s all a bit of a rip off… we are staying here at the moment and have been far from impressed by any of it. The private transfer dropped us at the wrong hotel entrance so we walked a good 6 minutes with 2 tired children and loads of cases - my poor mum nearly fainted in the midday heat! The room is ok… but we are in the Cala Azul Garden which is a good walk from the main restaurant and gym - this was not clear on the website.
The bar staff were rude yesterday, telling me I should decide the whole order before placing my order because she was confused. She then did a half measure because the bottle ran out and she couldn’t be bothered to get a new one out. €7.50 for a single shot and mixer round the pool. Last night we paid €3.50 for a Fanta from a gun.
You pay for everything! Pool towels are €15 deposit per towel and €1 per day! That’s €44 for a family of 4! We paid €5 per towel in the Spa opposite.
No drinks included at dinner, not even water. Drinks are so expensive! Dinner choices were ok but standard was average at best. Not sure what the meat was last night but it looked like reformer chicken!
I would absolutely not return.

This is a bit of a mixed review. Firstly I’d like to talk about cala azul gardens. We had a lovely apartment over looking the pool and it was spotless. The cleaners come 5 days a week and they are amazing. The location is lovely, it’s very near the centre of the town with all the bars and the shops but it’s up a little path set back from the road so it’s lovely and quiet. It’s a small hotel which we really liked. The pool is a great size and the gardens are beautifully kept. All the staff were very professional and helpful. However there really aren’t enough sun-loungers and umbrellas for the number of people staying here. The lifeguard does his best removing towels that have been left reserving sun loungers for hours but if they had some more this would really help.
We had half board and we ate in Cala azul park. Again I’m afraid there seemed to be too many people eating in the restaurant. There were huge queues every day for the buffet. This was really stressful and not a nice experience. They need more serving utensils and could have two lines on both sides of the buffet instead of just one side.
The pool at Cala azul park was rammed and far too busy and chaotic to be relaxing. The Esmeralda beach although pretty was very dirty with lots of litter and again very busy.
So I would recommend staying in Cala azul gardens but Cala azul park hotel needed improvements

Stayed here for 10 days in October just after the school holidays so no probs with sunbeds, room was spotless and my wife emailed them before we went asking for a top floor pool view which we got. They are not fancy but they are traditional and this is part of the charm and at the end of the day it's a 3 star so was well chuffed with the room. The pool area was kept spotless and the pool too even though it was pretty pretty nippy when you first took the plunge, all the staff were very friendly and the Cockerells roaming around the gardens were well behaved just a bit noisy, went to the Esmeralda for a drink one night wasn't to impressed definitely better for families. But the Azul Gardens is well worth a stay and would defo return. Bit of advice make sure you take some MOZZY REPELLENT, they loved me, but not the hotels fault

We bookedthe azul Gardens for 4 weeks, we have been here for 3 of those as I write. My wife and I cannot speak highly enough about the apartment we are in on the ground floor looking onto the pool. The cleanliness of the place in general is brilliant. The maids come in 5 days a week and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is plenty to do around the complex for all ages it is in a great location for the bars and restaurants and is just ideal for young and old alike

This hotel is part of the Esmerelda complex but is the quieter of the three hotels. You can use the facilities at the other hotels in the area (max 5 min walk) but we only went to the entertainment at the Esmerelda once - it wasn't great and was very busy so we didn't return! We were happy to be in the quieter hotel but depends what you want from your holiday.
The rooms at the Cala Azul Gardens are clean and comfortable, the air con in the rooms was very welcome! My only small gripe was there was not enough clothes storage for a family but we just lived out of suitcases for a week.
You can get CBBC and CITV on the TV for the kids, maybe other channels but I didn't get a look in! The WiFi isn't very good at all.
I would recommend asking for a top floor room with a pool view, we had one on the end so the balcony was very private as there was a tree on the other side of our balcony.
There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance and a small supermarket just across the road. I would recommend walking down to the marina one night, or its €7 in a taxi.
There are lots of stray cats and chickens around which your children will no doubt take pity on, poor things. Also lots of bats come out at dusk which is cool to watch.
The pool was cleaned daily and was as warm as a bath in July. The sunbeds start getting taken about 7.30am and they don't all have parasols so get out early if you want some shade. Note that the pool itself doesn't open until 10am. I did see the lifeguard removing towels from unmanned beds on one occasion during the week, so don't hog the beds if you're not going to use them!
A couple of times a week they have aqua aerobics for an hour but that's the only entertainment/noise.
As others have said, you can't have inflatables in the pool, unfortunately we didn't know that until after we had bought one 🙄 and lots of people were caught out on this. Perhaps some signs up around the pool would help!
All in all we had an enjoyable stay at the hotel and would return.

Are inflatables allowed as I have 2 kids that live on them while on holiday lol
We had a room facing the road. It had about 30 ft of grass and nice trees in between the balcony and road. Can't remember our room number but I'm sure the hotel can describe it. We were in the self catering apartments by the way
