I went here with my partner and 12 year old granddaughter the bedroom consisted of 2 beds pushed together and a camp bed shoved in a corner ,with no room to move ,I reported this to jet 2 rep and reception ,were I was told by receptionist "you get what you pay for "I asked if I could be moved and was told "no"jet 2 have informed me they have looked in to this and carnt find a problem with my holiday, I am totally dissatisfied with the hotel and there attitude, the only thing I can say about this hotel is that the food was decent, anyone going with a child needs to check what type of room you will be getting
Very good service Delicious food. You could find always what you like and it is always fresh and tasty. Friendly staff very good location. Everything is around the hotel. Bars, shops restaurants. It was one of my best vacations ever.
Lovely hotel, great staff, delicious food. Only down side was the pillows but when asked for more they were delivered to room straight away. Would most definitely go again! On another note- Justin from the entertainment team was excellent, great interaction with children and a brilliant bloke!
We had a great holiday, from the food to the pool and entertainment was great ,kids loved it , would recommend! Staff were really friendly and helpful, Reception, buffet staff , cleaners, bar staff and animation crew can’t fault, thanks
We didn't book here but was put here last minute so glad we did it was amazing. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Very clean and food was always hot and delicious. I'll be going back next year for sure
We arrived late at night, and so missed dinner. However the man on reception showed us to the food area where cold snacks were available through the night. The hotel room was basic and slightly dated, but was clean, large and had air conditioning (what more can you ask for!). The food was what you would expect from a 3 star all inclusive, with the dishes getting repetitive after 4-5 days. There was always plenty of choice, and the food was of a decent standard for the money. The entertainment on an evening was good, with plenty for all the family from toddlers to adults to enjoy. There are 4 pools spread out across the complex. They are fairly small, and not heated as far as I’m aware, but were clean and had lifeguards on duty. The only odd ‘quirk’ was you are not allowed inflatables or balls in the pool. However with a fantastic beach like Cala Gran 50 meter away, you soon forget about that rule. The beach access via the underpass is especially handy, as there is a shower head and tap to wash all the sand off before you get back to your room. The area of Calador is beautiful, with lots of local restaurants, bars and shops a minutes walk away from the hotel. We paid a little over £400 per person for 10 days towards the end of October, and I think for the money we had good value. Is it an all singing all dancing 4-5 star hotel? No. I must admit I was slightly worried about what to expect after reading previous reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think it offers great value for money for a cheap getaway in a fantastic location. Having 26-29c weather in October certainly helped too! …
If you want cheap and somewhat cheerful then this is the hotel for you. We booked 7 days here as a family of 4 and after arriving early hours of the morning were greeted by no queue at reception and a pleasant man who quickly checked us in and directed us to our room. We booked a studio- given there was 4 of us- and the room was small with a sofa bed and 2 very uncomfortable fold up beds acting as the main beds- 1 small thin pillow each - and no spares! Now if you are expecting clean towels every day as hotel mentions then please think again- I had to ask for clean towels and toilet rolls on the 3rd day and on the 4th- then new towels were literally flung in the room!! No bin emptying clean cups/glasses or quick make of the beds!! We stayed all inclusive mainly for the drinks with the kids. Long queues at the evening bar with poor Kelly trying her utter best to get through everyone! Day pool bar closed at 4.45 and the next bar was downstairs at the other side of the hotel. Remember your €1 for plastic glass deposit for around the pool and plates also- this doesn’t apply at night. The pool bar has a small snack area- burgers, pasta and some basic salads - ok for a quick snack for the kids. Main restaurant was busy and basic, breakfast was ok, lunch and dinner pretty much the same most days - now we are not a hugely fussy family but we did struggle after a few days and ate out twice during our stay. Please don’t expect to be greeted by masses of choice in the way of food or drink- but I couldn’t fault the staff for their professionalism and hard work. We sat round the quieter pool every day- didn’t really struggle to get somewhere for us to sit except 1 day when we sat on sun beds on the grass which was loud and busy but moved later in the day. Would I return to this hotel- no! To the area? Yes. For location to shops, bars and restaurants and of course the beach a 2 minute walk away.…
Fabalous Hotel with private access to the main beach. Lots of pools. Friendly staff. Lots of choice of fish and meats. Wonderful desserts. White wine with lunch is quality. Antonio's bar service was exceptional. Good measures, avoid the herbal absinth chasers. Ended up in a not a few times. Will definitely return. I recommend a walk to the Mirador in Calor Egos we got served drinks in the sister hotel.
We've just arrived back today, from the Gavimar Cala Gran. We arrived on Thursday 20t/10/2022, (latish), we had a wonderful time, the grandchildren spent most of the time in the pool, or at the beach. My daughter inadvertently, bought the grandchildren floats, not knowing that they weren't allowed in the pools, but that wasn't a great problem, as they took them to the beach instead. I've been reading a lot of posts, good and bad, about the Cala Gran, all I can say is what both I and my wife found, and if these people complaining want 5* treatment, then go ahead and pay 5 * rates. Yes I agree some of the complex could do with some kind of upgrade, but I believe that's coming, But all in all you get what you pay for. Most of the 1* posts complain about the food, WHY?? There's nothing wrong with the food, in fact I'd love to see some of them do better (It's okay cooking for a family of 4, say, but the kitchen staff have to cater for possibly over 1000 covers, not so easy). My wife and I celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary on Friday 28/10/2022, and the daughter and Son-in-Law laid on a spectacular table, and the Chef made us a cake, which was delicious. This was our 3rd visit with our family, to the Cala Gran, and just so people reading this know, we've already booked the flights, for next year, just need to sort out the accommodation next! The animation team, are exceptional, especially Justin (If they get rid of him, they need their heads examined). It was so nice to see Kelly, Suny and the rest of the girls again, we found out that Damian has moved over to the Ariel Chico (Sad loss to the Cala Gran, but I do understand). …
Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Location was perfect with an amazing sea view from our room. Room basic but clean with comfy beds & were cleaned & with fresh towels daily. Staff were extremely friendly & helpful. The manager/owner was always seen around the hotel with his friendly welcome & assistance. Couldn't quite believe how lovely & it warm it was for late Oct so made the most of sunbathing by the pool which was always pretty busy & lots of children but that was to be expected as it was half term. We booked an All inclusive & there was plenty of food available but could have been more choice for vegetarians, there was also the option of snacks throughout the day. The beach. shops & restaurants were just a few minutes walk away. This 5day break was just what was needed, had a lovely pleasant stay at this hotel & would definitely recommend. Thank you…
