We only stayed one night. Checked in via the travel agent, very friendly and helpful. Her dog was overally protective! Room was simple but no air conditioning. Internal room so no real air flow. Great location in the middle of everything.

I decided to stop here at short notice as it was cheap, I arrived out of hours and was met by a lovely lady (Antonia) she was amazing nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were immaculate cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Cheep and cheerful right in the centre of Cala D'Or, I can imagine mid season it can get rather noisy as it's close to all the restaurants and nightlife but that's what you pay for. I was offered a room to the rear of the hotel if it was too noisy at the front but it didn't bother me! I would stay here again.

I booked this hostel for a week away (14thAug-21stAug 2018) on a budget for three adults with Lastminute.com not being bothered by a swimming pool and the other extras a hotel could offer. I just wanted clean/safe/great location/tasty breakfast and all those boxes were ticked during our stay at San Francisco Hostel Cala d'Or. On arrival we entered the travel agent shop under the hostel and were issued with our keys and general information. Also unbeknown to me we were charged a 'city tax' of 1€10c per day per person... which isn't a great deal but apparently came in to operation in 2016. Our room was immaculately clean plenty of clean towels too....Towels were replaced with clean ones every day beds were made and plenty of toilet rolls. Shower was great bin was emptied every day and room was swept. Breakfast had a lot of choices ham/cheese/tomatoes/eggs also the option of a fried egg and bacon some mornings. Croissants/cakes/melon/bread/butter/jam/honey/fresh juice. The machine served excellent coffee free with breakfast 50c any other time. There was a drinks machine serving coke/water/Heineken for 1€. There was noise from the street below but it's par for the course on holiday! So no complaints here! Plenty of shops clothes/gifts shops/banks nearby and more than enough restaurants/bars for all tastes Beaches were a short walk away all having a lovely restaurant/cafe nearby. Plenty of options to hire sun beds/umbrellas too. The San Francisco Hostel well and truly met all my expectations. Excellent value for money!!!!! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hostel to anybody you won't be disappointed!!!!!

I stayed here from 07/27-08/02, and based on my experience I will never be returning. Our trip stared off fine, we arranged for a shuttle to take us from the airport to the hostel, via the hostel. Upon our late arrival the staff was very kind and accommodating, this however changed very quickly. Breakfast is included and is very meager, not very many options available, especially if you have dietary restrictions. The location was actually the best part about it. It's located within walking distance of 3 beaches and close to all of the restaurants. That small pro is very outweighed by the fact that our room was infested with bed bugs. I had mentioned to the receptionist that I had a few bug bites, she assured me that they were mosquito bites or sea lice (two very different things.) As the week went on more and more bites started showing up. We checked the beds and thought that we saw a few bugs so we went down to reception and brought Antonia up to our room to see for herself. She was obviously very irritated and began aggressively stripping the beds and flicked at what she called "stains" on the mattress. She left very angrily when I tried to explain to her that if there is an infestation she should know so the proper steps are taken before more guests stay in that room, or that if they hadn't already, spread throughout the rest of the hostel. The next morning she was no where to be found. I ran into the maid (who only emptied our trash can and replaced our towels 1 time in our week long stay,) in the hallway and showed her my bites and the pictures we have of the bugs on the pillows. She said that we staged the pictures, started inspecting the towels in our room (?) and claimed that we were dirty people and must have brought the bugs into the hostel. Naturally, I was insulted, angry, and very itchy leaving. I have requested a refund from the hostal and sent photos of my bites as well as the bugs that we did see. I have not received a response, and most likely will not. Yes this place is affordable, and the location is convenient, but there are other and probably better hostels within the same vicinity.

This is a basic hotel (marked as a Hostal) which is part of the shop front above the shops in the high street so keep your expectations as such, and there shouldn't be an issue! The location is key, so if you are like us and just wanted a convenient location and somewhere clean to sleep and shower, then this is for you. If you want a lazy pool holiday, then go elsewhere. This is for get up and go people who want to explore the surroundings. Me and my partner have stayed at some very grand places, and some very basic ones and this was one of the best of the budget rooms. The room was clean, on suite, spacious and was very comfortable for a short break. The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. We had a small balcony but the view was just to the side of the buildings so was used once or twice but didn't get any sun. This was fine as the room doesn't have air conditioning and with the blinds closed during the day, the room stayed comfortably cool. The room came with towels and loo roll, and a safe and a small bottle of shower gel. This is all. Again, this was fine as there was a 0.50 Euro coffee machine on the first floor. We had the breakfast which is laid out buffet style. We had ham, cheese, croissants, bread and condiments and coffee and juice on tap. There were plastic wrapped cakes and other than some apples no other fruit. There was also yogurt. We were find with this, we were the only or first ones for breakfast every day so we had our pick. I'm glad we chose this hotel for our three day trip as it was so easy to come straight out into the beautiful high street, there are no bars directly on the street so it was very peaceful and we didn't get woken up by people or music. Everything is a short pleasant stroll away, main supermarkets, convenience stores, the beach.. it was so easy. If you choose a bigger nicer all singing all dancing hotel, I feel you wouldn't achieve anything else other than a longer walk unless you want a day relaxing pool side but we were only there for three nights. I was very impressed and we would go back again without an issue. My ONLY complaint, is that a boiler or water tank made huge clunking noises periodically (maybe when other rooms flushed their loo or used the taps??) but I had ear plugs so I got used to it!

Visited with my partner for a four night stay Owner is pleasant enough to talk to and have us a lot of information for our stay Room was basic as you would expect however there is a balcony. In the room there is a bed, two bedside tables, a large wardrobe and a desk with a mirror. The bathroom is decently sized however the bath itself is small and would be better as a shower. Room was clean and pleasant and all four nights I slept very well however the lighting flickers a little. The beds are two singles pushed together and I personally found myself falling in between the so I turned both mattresses 90 degrees so that the beds and mattresses crossed each other which meant we wouldn’t fall in the gap so not a massive problem. Room was cleaned daily with the bin being emptied and a general tidy. Bedsheets not changed daily however I don’t do this at home so I don’t expect the hotel to. Breakfast was nice each morning served 8am till 10am so if you’re a late riser you’d be better off without. Breakfast consisted of: > fresh bread > croissant > muffins > ham > cheese > selection of butter, jam and marmalade > hard boiled eggs > ice cold orange and apple juice and water > hot beverages were available for €0,50 Streets got loud at night however closing the shutters, doors and curtains dimmed the noise. The walls are fairly thin so you can hear other jangling keys in the corridor etc. Overall a good stay especially for the price and would definitely come again. You get what you pay for and it’s right in the city centre so good if you want to go for drinks and you are given and outside key and your personal door key.

Went with a friend for four nights in early September. This hostel is right in the middle of everything, minutes to the beach, short walk to port and right next to good shops and supermarket. We were room only so can't comment on food. We had a balcony overlooking street which was nice. The room was clean, beds made and clean towels when needed. Hostels are underrated and I've always stayed in pretty good ones, this one didn't disappoint. Clean, central and nice lady on reception.

Me and my partner stayed here one night in August as the hotel we were meant to stay at cancelled our reservation. The receptionist was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, advising us of local streets and nearby restaurants. I thought the room was very basic and needed updating, which is expected given the price. The bedding was very uncomfortable and not very soft. There is no air con so we were absolutely boiling at all times. We left the balcony door open overnight to try let some fresh air in but the nearby street is too noisy. Even with ear plugs in I couldn't sleep very well. Breakfast is a basic buffet. I did notice the croissants were stale.

Me and my partner stayed one night at the Hostal San Francisco. First impression was excellent: warm and friendly welcome, spacious and pretty room. We were considering to stay there for an extra night until that good impression was ruined in the middle of the night: we were sleeping undressed as it was extremely hot and AROUND MIDNIGHT the reception LADY ENTERED THE ROOM and switched on the light!!! We got so scared!!! We jumped up and covered ourselves with the blankets and despite she saw us without clothes, remained in our room for a few seconds like if everything was ok and totally normal, asking if she could take the fridge from our room....this is so ridiculous and unacceptable! It was so embarrassing, scary and inappropriate at all!!! After she left, I dressed up and went down to the reception to complain and tell her how furious we were for her behaviour. She apologised but looked like if it wasn't that big deal, as she simply thought none was in the room...in the middle of the night?!... In any case that experience is not forgivable and it was hard to fall asleep properly after for the rest of the night! No words! In the morning we had breakfast and told to another lady, as she asked us, that we would have checked out and left in about one hour (that would have meant around 9:30am, when the check out time limit is at 12pm). At exactly 9:30am the lady entered the room without knocking the door probably to start the cleaning while my girlfriend was having a shower! Once again, unbelievable behaviour! Never going back to this place again, I never had before such a horrible experience in a hostel.
