Booked last minute self catering 2 adults one room and 2 adults 2 very young children other room. 2 cots provide and 1 high chair for the room perfect. Rooms are spacious with air conditioning and with large bedroom with 2 sets of patio doors onto large balcony with dining area outside and small hanging rail for wet swimsuits and well equipped kitchen area benefits are a good fridge dining table and sofas opposite each other making 2nd double bed or singles. TV has good channels bbc itv, baby TV and CBeebies. They provide small wash up liquid and tea towel which was changed 3 times during our week stay. Bathroom looks newly renovated- new tiles and white suite and has dispenser with shower gel and they provide small soap bar also (for those travelling light) Rooms were cleaned everyday. Towels replaced if left on bathroom floor. Staff are friendly and animation team are hard working encouraging you to take part activities with time table in reception. Slippery round the pool - take care - hydroplaned in flip flops and bear feet😱. Pools are great. Children’s pool has 2 slides and lifeguard on duty. Our granddaughter loved the white one, play park next to it. Gardens kept cleaned and cut all the time. Walls are paper thin, elderly couple who didn’t sleep much talked throughout night, ear plugs are a must. Not busy when we went. Was closing down for the season at the end of the week. Out the front immediately right is walk way to a lovely beach, not great accessibility with buggies. Out the back gate behind children’s slides to the right is another lovely beach, easier with buggies. Large supermarket can be found by going out of the front door straight ahead till you come to large roundabout (7mins) to the right of this set back from the road is a Spanish bar with great cheap tapas Plaza Del Pinar. The fantasy park with bouncy castles is a must for young children. To the right is the road with shops and restaurants. The Marivent was excellent. Had T-bone steak €14.99 and mixed seafood dish for 2 €38.99 even had a cooked breakfast one morning. What most people call the main square is a trek with youngsters but if you venture book a table. Often queues to get in. Can Trompe should have been on my list to visit. Smelt exquisite when we passed. Oh well next time.

Can’t fault this hotel at all. Despite all the COVID palaver ( not their fault) we had a lovely week here at the beginning of September. The staff are all lovely and very friendly and helpful. Felip in reception was able to book my son in law in to a local clinic for his 48 hours pre flying COVID test and show him the way, from bus timetables to the local markets and packed breakfasts on our leaving day reception staff could not have been more efficient and helpful. We booked half board and were very impressed with food choice and quality, I was expecting to dine out once or twice but we never felt the need to at all. I was particularly impressed with the machine squeezing fresh orange juice in the mornings, not something you see at many breakfast buffets at all! Huge choices of breads, pastries, cheeses, yoghurts, fruit, jams, not to mention the omelette lady and all the ingredients for full English if that’s what you go on holiday to Spain for. Even two types of bacon! Impressive. The evening spread was equally vast and I never lacked choice. We especially liked the Thai chicken curry and the fresh noodles bar. Saturday night BBQ was great too! My grandson (three) was very taken with the kids buffet and the ice cream bar, he headed straight for these every night. The bar staff as well as the restaurant staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. We had a jug or two of sangria most nights but when we strayed onto the cocktail menu we were not disappointed, they were fantastic! The entertainment team were great. I have to say I usually prefer a good book and don’t bother much with entertainment but they were excellent. My grandson was absolutely captivated by the shows each night, they are all multi talented and can all sing/dance/act, he loved both the girls and Chocolatey and they really give it their all! The other guy was great too ( sorry I don’t remember his name but he works really hard to keep up with Chocolatey who’s a Diva and a half!) Mattresses on the beds were comfy although my daughter found the foam sofa bed uncomfortable. After one night we just swapped the sofa foam for the spare bedroom mattress and she was fine. Maria the lovely cleaner neatly made up our beds each morning regardless of where we’d put the mattresses! Next door my daughter, son in law and grandson put their mattresses on the floor in a line so they could all sleep in one big area ( my daughter was scared the baby would hurt himself falling out of the bed onto the tiled floor at night and he won’t sleep in a cot) and Maria and the other cleaners probably didn’t do their backs any favours by neatly making up their mattresses on the floor each day, but that’s how nice the staff here are. They definitely go the extra mile, always smiling and polite too! Pool area was perfect for my grandson, he absolutely loved the water slides and got a lot more water confidence in the time we were there. The hotel is 4/5 minutes walk between two gorgeous beaches, Cala Grand and Esmeralda. Take the gate out of the pool area and left for Esmeralda, right for Grand. Both extremely pretty, both with loads of diving off places from rocks - take rock shoes if you like deeper diving. Grand had pedalos with slides on them for exploring the bay. The local market at Santanyi is a must do if you like a good market, it’s brilliant. We took the bus which was easy and took around 30 minutes. Lovely boho clothes, loads of linen and fabulous fabrics, leather bags, toys, corkware, pottery, collectibles, specialities of the region and amazing food! Really great market and Santanyi lovely for a ramble and a coffee too. My usual policy is never return to the same place twice, there’s a lot out there to explore, but I may even return to Apartmentos Cala d’Or Playa, it’s that nice! Thanks to all the staff there, both for fitting in my son in law at the last minute and for being so lovely, you made my only holiday this year great!

This was our first holiday abroad with our toddler (17 months) and it was a brilliant, good value, family friendly hotel. The apartments were spacious and spotlessly clean, the pool was nice and our toddler enjoyed the water slides and play area. We booked sept catering but paid for the buffet breakfast most days which was good. Cala D’or is a lovely resort, and the hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance to both beaches, the town centre, restaurants etc. Would highly recommend

Visited for 2 weeks mid August, 2 adults, 2 children, (17 and 6). Not our first time at this hotel but the last time was 2014 and it has had a refurb since then. We had the standard room and couldn’t book the superior because the bed is a truckle pull out bed not suitable for children with an age gap who like their own space. The standard room has two separate sofas which turn into beds. My husband had organised flowers which the hotel had helped with and given us a complimentary bottle of Cava which was lovely. We had room 106 overlooking the inner hotel and the balcony was lovely. We got all the evening sun. We went half board and food was excellent with plenty choice. Pros: Lovely Staff, who work hard. Fire and water show was excellent. Excellent buffet choice. Omelettes cooked to order. BBQ night. Mexican night. Water slides are good fun even for adults. Lovely Margaritas! Rooms cleaned daily with towel change. Plenty activities such as an inflatable crocodile in the pool and t shirt painting for 8 euros. Close to Cala Gran and Esmerelda beaches. Cons: This is a busy and therefore noisy hotel. The kids show goes on very late until 9:30pm and this meant a very late night every night. The hotel is not ‘quiet’ until after midnight and some people also like an early start, so prepare to leave more tired than you arrive! The walls are paper thin and we got a snorer for the first week which we could hear loud and clear! Sunbeds. Yes you could get them this year, maybe not next when the hotel is full! But umbrellas are limited. Lots of children lying under towels to escape the sun. Running little children slipped often. Hotel has a Day Pass for Spanish visitors which means weekends were busy. Often the pool was full and this is wall to wall full, with people not staying in the hotel. No kids club, all activities need supervision. Sunbeds and pool area not washed down every night so the side tables were often sticky. Overall we had a good holiday, for an excellent price with fantastic food, and enjoyed ourselves. But this is a busy busy hotel, constant music, activities and late nights with family groups shouting way past midnight might be too much for some.
