We thought we were booking a romantic getaway and were willing to pay a bit extra for a quality stay. However, our experience turned out to be quite different, and we have several reasons for not enjoying our stay: The staff, from arrival to departure, was consistently unfriendly and seemed overly stressed. There was little time or concern for guests' matters, with instances of being overtalked and even mocked. The room was dark, worn, and in desperate need of renovation. Moldy and worn-out furniture, cheap plastic chairs, dirt, and hairs from previous guests, along with torn towels, were just a few issues. The room, facing a wall, had no view of the sky due to a roof over the terrace, contributing to its overall depressing ambiance. Its location by the elevator and staff room added to the noise level. Despite attempting to change rooms daily, we were informed that we had booked a standard room, ignoring the stark contrast between the advertised room and the actual reality. The elevator to the standard rooms was repeatedly out of order, forcing guests with disabilities to navigate stairs. Unfortunately, while the staff readily assisted attractive young guests, those genuinely in need, like elderly individuals, were consistently overlooked. Breakfast, served in a very noisy breakfast hall, focused more on quantity than quality. Beyond the quality concerns, there were issues with food safety, as some dishes, including drinks, remained unchanged daily, leading to the unpleasant discovery of rotten fruits in the iced tea and flavored waters. The pool area, while somewhat dated, was acceptable. However, water cleanliness problems and an overwhelmed pool bar staff detracted from the overall experience. In conclusion, our stay was a pure disappointment, and we cannot recommend this hotel. If you're looking for a pleasant vacation, there are much better options in the area. We will definitely not be returning here.

We have just returned from 5 nights at this hotel and I honestly cannot fault it. We will definitely be returning. This hotel is a 3 star hotel and yet it has qualities of a 5 star hotel. We arrived and given directions to our room on the 4th floor. The room was lovely and clean. The bed was huge and comfortable. There was complimentary water on arrival and a kettle with tea and coffee that was replenished daily. We have travelled all over and yet never stayed in a hotel that 1. Had so many English channels on the tv and 2. Had a safe which can be used free or charge so we were immediately impressed. We booked half board which means drinks are not included so we understood that we had to pay for drinks, unlike other reviews I have read. It was very cheap to upgrade from bed and breakfast to half board so I wasn’t expecting anything amazing. We attended dinner on the first night and I was shocked at how many options there were. There is also a chef cooking fresh meat and fish. The food was wonderful, the restaurant is large so there isn’t any queuing involved. We said to each other I wonder if there is going to be anything bad? We thought maybe breakfast? But nope!! Breakfast was great, everything you can think of. We went the full duration of the stay and couldn’t fault a single thing. If you walk out of the doors at reception you are (almost immediately) in the main square where all the restaurants and bars are and if you go out the back door and down some steps you open a gate onto Cala gran beach- location is 5 stars!! I requested a sea view if possible and was given it and we were told on the last day we could keep our room if we wanted it until our late checkout. Thank you for the stay, all staff and cleaners very helpful and friendly. 😊

Excellent hotel with one major flaw. Half board customers are charged for water or any type of drink with their evening meal. A jug of water on the table would be nice but one evening we had all but finished our meal before we were served and asked if we would like any drinks. Not ideal in 25 degree heat. And to charge for water with a meal? Not acceptable, Tui. Water is a basic human right. Sort this one problem out and you have a fabulous hotel.

First thing I must say the staff are fantastic and helpful. The hotel or as we found out ‘hotel’s’ need to find its purpose in life. It’s got all you need but seems to lack soul. I think when the two hotels joined together they didn’t know where to put bits. The bar is lovely but never busy. It could do with some entrainment eg piano playing. The outdoor pool and entertainment area was inclosed and uninviting. Indoor pool cold, sauna out of service. Gym was good with a good view of the beach. Food repeated a lot but tasty and even better when I found where the hot plates were kept. Room’s definitely need updating, air con was quite on the lowest speed. The door to the balcony only locked at the top. Reported it but still the same when we left. Hotel very quite and we could just see the beach and sea which was a much better view than the pool view. Town-a lot of restaurants, bars and tourist shops packed in. Lovely beach thou can get very busy. Hotel and town clean, unlike England no dog poo or stray animals around. Overall lovely hotel but could do so much better. Suggest for over 60s and those who don’t mind long distance travelling for days out

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Rocador, the pool, beach and staff were all excellent. You can’t fault the food in the buffet restaurant there is something for everyone at this hotel. a very short walk to the bars, shops and restaurants of Cala d'or. The rooms are great for an active stay but if you’re looking for a room with a view or that's cool to sit out on then pay for the pool or sea view upgrade, our balcony was overlooking the reception area which meant from 3:00pm you couldn't sit out as it was too hot as your directly facing the sun. My only negative to the hotel was the breakfast on departure day. We had an early flight, before the restaurant would normally open, but I was informed they would open at 3:00am for early flights, big thumbs up. But there was no thought into what was available. no milk, no cereal, toasters not switched on. we had a vast array of cheese, meat, olives and pickles?? and some yoghurt, the chefs priority's were all wrong taking time to lay out his cheeses and pickles? instead of offering something we could eat for breakfast, we left hungry and grumpy. Overall an amazing hotel in an amazing location, just sort the breakfast out on departure day. Top tip - get a pool or sea view if you want to use your balcony, if you’re out of the room more than in it then don't worry.

The hotel is a refurbished hotel but sadly not to a very high standard. You can’t make a purse out of a sow’s ear. The rooms are small and pokey with hardly any storage space, the wardrobe was small and without doors, probably because they are so weak that they are distorted. There were only three drawers in the whole room and you lived out of your suitcases. The room had no chairs or seating area. The little room available is mainly taken up by a “modern” wet room bathroom which is a hazardous area and slip hazard as soon as you attempt a shower. The “modern “basin is shallow and impractical and would not drain. This was reported on four occasions and they still failed to solve the problem. The bathroom door frame was coming away from the wall and the tacks were exposed and dangerous. The towel rails were coming loose from the walls. The balcony was very small The pool area was very small and the pool was ancient and only accessable from the ends. The entertainment was very poor and not every night. The description for every entertainer was “resident entertainer “with no description of their genre so no good for deciding whether to stay at the hotel or not. We consequently went to the nearby Toucan hotel where entertainment was good. The Tui entertainment rep, Nina, was keen but inexperienced, on her own and overworked. However, the food was good and the service in the restaurant was good. The location was good, with access onto the beach. The transfer from airport to hotel was not good enough. Having collected our cases from the airport we then had to wait an hour and a half for the bus to fill up before we started on the transfer to the hotel. The transfer then took two hours before we arrived at the hotel. A 6.00am flight got us to the hotel by around 12.30. We requested a high room above the pool but got a low room above the pool . Not the 4T hotel we expected .

We’ve just returned from a lovely week at the Blue Rocador hotel for a much needed late summer break. It was a relaxing break in a quiet location. A short walk to the beach, ten minutes away from the marina and ten minutes away from the restaurant’s shops and bars. Almost the perfect location. There was a warm welcome for us, first impressions were that it was very clean and tidy. The reception lead to an open area bar which didn’t seem to work for me. A short walk down a few stairs into quite a large open lounge which didn’t seem to be used while we were there. Then off to the room, which seemed to be a maze and quite confusing, it took us a few days to get our bearings. The rooms themselves were on the small size, don’t bring a cat! Open wardrobes, not quite enough storage space for us, nowhere obvious to store our suitcases, but it was kept spotless for us. We had a fridge, a hairdryer, a kettle, enough for a week. The bed however, not comfortable for a big guy, I felt I was lying on the base itself, it was tough on the hips and shoulders. We stayed for breakfast and evening meal, no included drinks which suits us. Plenty of choice for breakfast, hot and cold food prepared well. Plenty of coffee but not a huge choice of tea. Evening meals were typically holiday buffets, well presented, well cooked, plenty of choice. We felt like kids in a sweet shop on day one, by day four we were bored and had to go out for something to eat. We didn't try the A la'carte restaurant or the buffet which are available once a week. The outside area was nicely maintained, plenty of sun loungers and parasols, there didn’t seem to be the usual rush for sun loungers which was nice. A 25m swimming pool, a little dated for me, a quirky shaped pool would have been more funky for summer. The outside bar seemed to be always open for drinks, snacks and ice cream, perfect for those that didn’t want to venture out of the complex. The stars for me where the staff, they couldn’t do enough for us, warm and friendly and made the hotel for me. For us, a relaxing break in a perfect location, a great base to explore the area. Not quite the 4 star as advertised for us but has the potential with a few more luxury touches to be something special.

Arrived at the hotel one-day and was very pleased with the reception staff in arrival. Room was very clean on arrival, but was very disappointed with space for clothes, only 10 hangers available to hang cloths. after unpacking what we could any exploring the hotel. The layout of the hotel is very confusing for finding your way around the hotel with very poor signage e.g. to get to the restaurant from our room we had to go from level 1 to level 4,walk down to level 3 then do a marathon walk past many bedrooms to get lift down to level 2. To get back to our room was a nightmare. On the 2nd day of our visit the lift was out of order so have to go upstairs to get anywhere, this was the same every day until we left 5 days later with no explanation from hotel staff as to what the problem was. We heard that this was not the first time this has happened. On the the last day we did have a note in our room apologising for the disruption with two(2) small sweet as way of compensation. I will say that the food at the hotel was of good quality and rooms were very clean. The pool area was also kept very clean but for evening entertainment the pool bar area was too small. I holiday with Tui on regular basis but this is one hotel I will not recommend.

We visited the Hotel for a surprise 60th Birthday - Lets start with the good points; 1 - Really clean 2 - Staff, work very hard 3 - Food, top quality, but after 7 days, it just gets repetitive 4 - Beds, pillows, can not be faulted (Nice & Big) 5 - Nice to have a fridge in the room, but very small 6 - Alicia Keys Tribute, fantastic. Bad Points; 1 - The Hotel seems as though its two Hotels in to one & finding your way round, will take you at least a couple of days. They may as well give you a sat nav. To get to the pool, you have to walk down a long corridor past all guests rooms, which, if I was staying in one of the rooms, I definitely would asked to be moved. 2 - Air conditioning in the room needs updating badly, noisy & take a while for your room to get to the correct temperature (I am in the industry of Air Con) 3 - Tv controller, well lets just say its seen better days, all the buttons are worn, so you can not make out anything. 4 - Took them over 4 days to fix the lift & with it being a adult hotel, there were some elderly guests who were complaining. 5 - The Elton John Tribute was embarrassing bad. 6 - You have to book early for the Ala Carte evening 7 - Our Balcony door handle broke, which left our room vunerable, I had to remind them twice it needed fixing. 8 - We hired a car & you have to park on the street, No Hotel Parking. Overall, its very well run, but my bad points above are something the Hotel can improve on.

This is our fourth stay at the hotel, and it was lovely in its ability to remain predictable. There was an issue getting the room we booked, but the manager did his best and resolved the problem. The staff are friendly, the food is good, and the location is right by the beach. I would say the decor is getting tired and could do with an upgrade. Some of the pool loungers were a bit grotty. I would go here again as it is peaceful and a good sunny break.
