Detailed Reviews
Wasn't expecting much due to the covid 19 situation, but was pleasantly surprised. Entrance looks relatively nice but could do with a lick of paint if I'm being picky. Receptionist was nice and friendly, and helped us check in with the usual documents and stuff. Gave us a room right at the end of the right hand block, which of you don't follow instructions correctly like I didn't then it's easy to get lost.
Greeted by a relatively clean room, a few hairs on the bathroom floor, and a light bulb fixing just hanging from the roof were the only real small issues. Everything else was clean and done daily.
Beautiful pool area, one below and one elevated. All in all complex was very nice.
First days food wasn't up to the standard we were expecting, but gradually improved through the week to actually be fairly decent for all inclusive. I will say it was heavily influenced towards the German guests which I'd say were about 75 percent of the guests. I for one didn't mind it but abit of variety would it of been nice.
Drinks for inclusive are okay, beer was actually very well kept, and cold. But wine was very warm. You have to pay a Euro for each plastic cup as a deposit too.
All in all a very pleasant stay, with a few tweaks here and there.
Air con didn't work properly.
Fridge didn't work.
Cold wine for white and rose. Room temperature for red.
More food variety.

Currently here now at Cala d’or Gardens and I must admit I was so nervous about coming after reading the reviews but I honestly worried over nothing. The hotel room is yes a bit dated and basic but clean and has everything you need air con, fridge, shower, patio/balcony etc also towels are replaced daily, can’t really expect much more for a 3 star hotel so pleasantly surprised.
The pools are lovely and big and clean with plenty of beds brollys can be a bit harder to get if you’re not early enough but then again we are here during a heatwave. The big pools don’t allow floaties which is a bit of a downer but kiddies are allowed small rubber rings if they can’t swim or a bit less confident, it is salt water so get some goggles! The splash park is great for kids and floaties are allowed in this pool there is also a bar there so you dont have to walk all the way back to the main bar, one thing about the splash pool however is that beds are limited so you have to be early. The guidelines state that the pool is open 10-6 but we have been in the pool before 9 and there are people in it until late so I think it’s just that it is only supervised by lifeguards between 10-6.
The food this is what worried me the most as people were really moaning about the food on the reviews but I have to say we have really enjoyed the food. Plenty of options and if your a really fussy eater there is always bread, chips, pasta and pizza every lunch and dinner so you won’t go hungry, also between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner the snack bar is open in the main restaurant which has burgers hot dogs chips and pizza, I have to say the burgers are delicious!! Breakfast is also good with everything you would want cereal, pancakes, eggs and bacon etc.
This hotel is also in a perfect location as literally 2 minutes up the road there is a shopping centre with lots of shops restaurants and bars even a nightclub if you like to party! Also there is a beautiful little cove beach about 5 minutes walk if that yea it’s small but so pretty the slightly bigger beach is also only 10 minute walk or you can get a cab to the main beach for about 5euros.
The entertainment is pretty basic but the entertainment staff really do try hard and it is no where near as bad as all the reviews say it is all I can think is that the people who wrote all the bad reviews are extremely snobbish and expect to get champagne for lemonade money.
So if you want a nice cheap family getaway then this hotel is perfect please don’t believe all the bad reviews it really isn’t that bad just remember it is a 3 star hotel so don’t expect 5 star luxury and you will have a great time.

We’ve just come back from Majorca and stayed at this hotel for a week. While there were a few negatives that I will go into, there was many positives too. I will start with the positives… the food was nice, lots of variety, although I agree with lots of previous comments about it being catered towards the holiday makers (mainly germans), it would have been nice to have a taste of the local cuisine! Breakfast was my favourite, you could have a full English, there was also dry cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt and continental options, including croissants and other pastries, pancakes (which my little girl loved!) and fried eggs. Dinner time and tea time consisted of various meats, fish, sides and there was always salad, fruit, ham and cheeses available. Desserts were a bit strange in my opinion (definitely not of English nature), but enjoyable and plenty of other choice like yoghurt and fruit as well as icecream. Also burgers/hotdogs and chips throughout the day being offered, which was great on our last day before we left as was out of meal times.
The complex itself was very appealing, fairly clean and maintained, large pool areas and a private kids water park just over the road exclusive of the hotel, although anyone could walk in as the lock mechanism didn’t work that only allowed room keys to gain entry. Entertainment was ok, my little girl enjoyed the kids ‘disco’ which was on for half an hour every night, apart from the Saturday, however she doesn’t take much entertaining as she’s only 1! The ‘adult’ entertainment which was on after, wasn’t very imaginative. However you could see the amount of effort that went into the production from the entertainers, they seemed like a lovely enthusiastic bunch, however we usually left after the kids disco and went for a walk or something. The atmosphere was rather dull on the evening, perhaps an English/German divide? I think there was only a couple of English families that were there when we were. Nothing against other nationalities but let’s just say the non-English people could come across as very rude and impolite, no fault of the hotel of course!
Now the bad…
We were put up a flight of stairs of the hotel with no lift, this wasn’t ideal with a 1 year old, who isn’t walking and needs to be carried. The pram up and down the stairs multiple times a day was hard work. Also, more of an issue was we got put in a room with no bath, so we had to wash our baby in the shower between our legs… very dangerous. The shower leaked all over the floor and the shower head didn’t stay upright either. We didn’t have a plug for our sink either and asked for one numerous times and was told it would be sorted, along with the shower issues but it never was, we gave up asking in the end.
All in all it’s a good hotel for a family with lots of potential, needs some TLC with the rooms and some lifts installed, seeing as though it’s advertised as family friendly. Not sure we would stay again though.

Arrived last Friday with my wife and 2 children (7yrs and 1yr) … literally couldn’t swing a cat in our family room. The room itself was grotty, there were ants in our bathroom (around the sink) and in the main bedroom underneath the travel cot that had been laid out for our youngest; needless to say she was never going to sleep in it after that point. The bathroom had old peeling stickers on the door and the mirror was wearing round the sides making me feel like it was older than I am. I have a high tolerance for most things and can always see the positives but honestly - not here.
We attempted the pool and splash park as we’d promised our 7yr old that that’s the first thing we would do when we arrived away to be greeted with dirty sunbeds that looked like they were never cleaned, awful. The pool water was (I think) sea water so really salty and freezing cold.
Then it continues… we purposely booked an all inclusive for the endless ice lollies that would no doubt be requested by our 7yr old to be told that they didn’t do ice lollies and the closest thing was ice cream but that was only available between 4pm and 5pm?!! Speechless.
Went to get an all inclusive drink… told we needed to give them a euro everyday to release a glass in which we had to look after and return at the end of the day…again… just no.
This holiday wasn’t cheap and something we’d been looking forward to for some time like everyone does but after one day and one long night in our dingy room we swiftly made the decision that this wasn’t fit for the kids (or us!) and moved on.
To top it off after requesting something like a kettle in with to sterilise our daughters bottles we were told no and were given no advice on how we could maybe work around this. One receptionist in particular went as far as to be sarcastic about it and I’ve never been spoken to like that in any hotel or shop or professional premises in my life.
Wouldn’t recommend and the photos online look nothing like reality. All round awful experience.

Booked a family holiday, there was 6 of us they gave me 2rooms which wasn’t by each other so I had to leave some kids on there own which they was happy about but I was not I could not relax at all. There was always ants in the beds. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures it’s dingy and dull.
Kids can’t have any floaties in the pool, can’t jump in the pool, can’t even have an ice cream by the pool.
The only thing we enjoyed at this hotel is how polite and lovely the one main bar man was.
I would never book here again!!!

We arrived on June 21st and stayed for 7 nights we are a family of three adults and 2 children under 2 years. We had a private taxi from and to the hotel which took arond 40 mins the transfer coach was around 1 and a half hours. The rooms was ready on arrival (4pm) they were next door to each other and on the ground floor as we had to pushchairs, they were spacious and clean. The rooms were cleaned everyday and we had fresh towels also daily. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. The food was lovely and catered for everyone. At breakfast there were freshly cooked pancakes and fried eggs, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, sausage and bacon and cheeses and hams just to mention few. Lunch and dinner again there was frshly cooked fish and meats also paella (fish, chicken and vegatable). The desserts were amazing and so many to choose from, the kids loved the ice cream and sprinkles also a chocolate fountain with numerous goodies to dip. Snacks in the day also so no need to go hungry. Pool area was clean and we never had to fight for a sunbed, the hotel was fully booked but there were always free beds. The splash park for the children is literally accross the road and has sunbeds and a bar. The animation team work so hard all day and the shows in the evening are entertaining., the kids loved the mii disco. The beach is a ten minute walk away and is really worth a visit the water is clear and quite shallow also plenty of fish to see. The shops and bars again are a five minute walk there is also an outdoor market on a Thursday with lots of hand made personalised gifts at a very reasonable rate. We were uaable to get a late check out for our room as the hotel as I said was fully booked however we were able to use the showers attached to the fitness suite and they were clean and we did not have to wait. We were able to use the towels from the room as advised by the reception staff. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and we will definately be returning.

Cala d'Or Gardens is a pretty run down budget hotel catering mostly to German clientele. The whole property looks like it has not been maintained during the last decade. They offered half-board or all inclusive deals, I actually only wanted a room to sleep and chose half-board. For 10EUR/day you can upgrade to all inclusive, you get free drinks and lunch of questionable quality. Food in general is barely edible, I would compare it to American prison food.
The room itself was clean and spacious, with twin beds for solo occupancy. For a price of 42EUR/night I can recommend the hotel if you only need a place to sleep, while spending your day and eating outside of the hotel.

Wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews but can honestly say we had the most 10 chilled days . On arrival the guy at reception was pleasant efficient and even offered to change our room so that we could be in the same block as my sister . The rooms were basic but for how much time you spend in them it doesn't really matter . And it's the first holiday I've been on as a very fussy eater that I never had a problem finding something to eat . The staff were efficient friendly in all areas . The pools were clean and we liked that as you have to pay 1 euro for the glasses that they were not left lying around the pool . Did notice that the last couple of days of our stay that people had started to take food to the poolside even though there were signs up stating no food . In the smaller pool we're people tended to have there children was good and the lady lifeguard was vey good at spotting the kids not wearing there armbands as the pool gets deep very quickly . The only thing was kids were playing in the pool but adults were playing ball games around them with no consideration when the larger pool would have been better suited for this . Overall it was a great stay and would defo return .

I was a bit worried having a read of some the reviews before we left however we had a lovely week at the hotel and I am really pleased we booked here. Family of 6 and thankfully our rooms were next door to one another. All staff we encountered were friendly, restaurant, reception, cleaners and the bar staff were really good fun too! Our rooms were overlooking the main pool, basic but completely fit for purpose and had air conditioning. Lovely garden areas. Lots of sun beds although it was sometimes difficult to get a parasol however took advantage of the lovely palm trees for shade. Water park was a little young for the children we had with us however was great to have another option and all inclusive drinks were included. No inflatables are allowed in the pool whilst the lifeguards are on duty (10-6) but noted lots of family’s would arrive at 6 with their inflatables and this was allowed. Lovely little cove beach a short walk from the hotel where we went snorkelling, lots of fish for the children to spot! Lots of shops and bars also within a short walk. All inclusive food we had no complaints. Drinks you do need to pay a 1 euro deposit to get a plastic glass however this was very easy to do and you do get a fresh glass each time you return (glass was served in the restaurant, no deposit required). Beer on tap was Estrella. We ended up chucking our deposits in the tip box but this was a personal choice and you obviously do not have to if you don’t wish to. The evening entertainment was minimal however children’s disco each evening at 8.30 and the entertainment staff put on 2 evening performances whilst we were there, which gave us a good chuckle. All in all for the price we paid I would definitely return. 3 small negatives (which would not however stop me returning but for this reason have not given 5 stars), twice we were only left with 2 large towels in our room when we had 3 people, however was not the end of the world as just used our beach towel. The floor in the top pool is a bit rough and some members of our party did cut their feet. We took plasters after reading a previous review, so thank you for the heads up. And some of the Sun loungers could have definitely done with a clean. But overall a very enjoyable holiday. Thank you.
