Stayed here for a week, just after the UK announced a quarantine rule for Brits travelling to Spain. After losing 3 previous holidays/trips to COVID-19 this break was booked under the impression that if we go, we go, if not - don’t get too upset. The holiday went ahead after much debate and we are so grateful to the Sol melia and also to the people working in Cala D’Or at the time for making this a possibility. The hotel was working on a very basic operation. We were self catering (due to Covid) and so we booked room only. The staff were all very friendly, the room had everything we needed, the pool area and outside bar still ran as normal with thanks to very attentive staff and organisation. Credit to the life guards for continuous cleaning of sunbeds and bar staff for attentive service and keeping all dining areas clean. Our room was cleaned every 48 hours so no problems there either. Once again I would like to thank all at the Sol Cala D’Or apartments for making a holiday a possibility in 2020, the year from hell. We wish you every success in the future and hope that next year your hotel runs as normal with all the tourists that you need in order to keep jobs safe. Majorca is a wonderful place and the tourist industry deserves special praise in these difficult times. …
The hotel Cala D`Or Apartments have a good rapport Quality / Price. We have 2 children's and we book accommodation with Half Board. The food was very good and fresh ! The pool is large and clean ! The hotel it is located at 5-10 minutes walk to the nearby beach ! The rooms need be renovated... We received a kind of maisonette, with a room and a living with extensible sofa and up stairs with a badroom with a large bad ! The apartment was clean but need be renovated ! The island it is wonderful ! We will come back but not in this location !
Great location and value for money. Large pool area and nice breakfast buffet. Room was spacious and the kitchenette was fully equipped. We did not use the pool area, but it was spacious and very clean. We will definitely come back next time we travel to Cala d’Or
Stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. Our room was lovely and spacious with a kitchen/living room and the biggest bed I’ve ever seen in a hotel! The staff were nice and accommodating. The pool was dead the whole time - lots of people sat round the pool but no one ever in it which meant I had it all to myself. There are a few restaurants nearby which had good food. Great location and walking distance to everything - we walked to 4 different beaches which were all beautiful, and also to the marina.
Visited in early october, had a family room which was extremely dated. My friend had the double bed on the second floor and I had the sofa. No linen provided for the sofa at all? Had to help myself when I saw the cleaners coming. Very uncomfortable to sleep on and just an itchy blanket that had seen much better days. I am only in my 30s but the 'singing' from the bar behind was really annoying and went on probably until 1am. The balcony was very nice and got the most beautiful sunshine in the afternoon. Food very basic and repetitive, we were half board but I think I only went to dinner twice and then went out. The absolute godsend for us was the rooftop where you could lay down and catch some sun. Unfortunately no toilets or anything up there so a trek to your room everytime you need the loo. This lovely area of the hotel was somewhat spoilt by people bringing their babies up there and putting them in the jacuzzi even though it said it was for adults only. People drinking bacardi breezers and failing to use the bins! It was handy to have the little kitchen area to do snacks or pizza, but only 1 oven tray provided? The location is actually what makes this hotel as it is very close to the beach and to the busy area and restaurants only a short walk away. Unfortunately disappointed with this melia hotel as I have stayed with them before. Also, booked a trip with the jet2 rep and she seemed very bored and disinterested. If you just want a base to sleep at this would be great but it is generally overrated in my opinion.…
