We arrived on 15 July the day the hotel opened. I think it would be fair to say the hotel was learning day by day on what was the best way to manage the restaurant with the restrictions in place. On the first night we had to wear gloves and masks in the restaurant when getting food. But could remove the gloves when eating. Gloves were a waste of time as once you have taken them off they are contaminated. During our stay the gloves disappeared for a few days then were reinstated then not required again. In general gloves were just a waste of time. The hotel got better at individualising fruit etc at breakfast, but other things like orange juice machine and tea, coffee machine could be used by everyone. They got better with alcohol gel but not everyone used this prior to using machines or after. Bread got put in packets but you couldn't see whether it was white or brown so people were picking up packets looking and then putting back - not very socially isolated. The staff did their best to Serve all your food on a plate before giving it to you but some residents were passing plates across and staff were still serving on these. Overall the staff did a fairly good job at trying to maintain infection control practices but didn't routinely pull residents up when they breached them. Social distancing around the pool was generally well observed by residents and the staff cleaned sun beds as soon as people left. Generally given the circumstances and the fact the hotel was just opening and getting back to normal they did a good job. They seemed to be listening to what residents were saying and making changes accordingly. We had a great holiday given the circumstances and want to thank the hotel staff for all their efforts.

Just returned from 7 days at This Hotel and had a pleasant experience. It is difficult for Hotels to comply with the strict Balearics Covid regulations but they succeeded. The Hotel is spotless and social distancing is in place in public areas. Sun beds and dining furniture were sanitised after every use. The buffet meals were Served by the staff and there was a good variety on offer. Unfortunately because of UK penalising the Balearics and Canary Islands, because of an outbreak in mainland Spain, the guests arriving dwindled. However, if you can make it to this resort, you will have a very quiet, relaxing break, in beautiful surroundings. I wish the Management and staff all the very best and thank them for their service.

we arrived on the 22nnd of july for a week half board with jet2. we visit majorca at least 3 times a year but have never used this hotel before but seeing as there wasn't many hotels open we decided on the catalonia as it looked nice on the web and it was adults only. we went to check in and was immediately upgraded to a sea view room which was very nice as the views are lovely.got to our room which was very clean with free safe which you don't get in any other hotel. the beds were very comfortable the best i have ever slept in. now about the food seeing as this pandemic was on we had to wear our face masks while in the hotel which was to be expected and the tables were well spaced out, the breakfasts were ok with the usual fried breakfasts and croissants etc but the evening meals were poor i suppose they were trying their best with things as they were. the pool area could have been very nice but the sun beds could have done with a good wash down and the pool bar didn't open until 12 o, clock by which time nearly all people had walked to the supermarket for drinks. having said all this the staff were very friendly and helpful i just hope things get better when all this terrible pandemic has gone.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Service was great. We had half board and enjoyed every meal. Room 317 was clean and well equipped, facing the Pool / Mountain view. I used the gym several times to fight off the cooked breakfasts. Swimming Pool and bar very relaxing. Felt very safe and soon the COVID-19 precautions were second nature.
