DONT GO - VERY LOW HYGIENE The room was super dirty, they didn’t even emptied the rubbish from the previous guests. We requested the room to be cleaned again they were rude and told us that it had been cleaned already when it clearly didn’t have. By the third time we asked and after showing them pictures of the dirtiness of the room they did clean the apartment slightly better though the floor was still dirty as well as dusty and sticky counter tops. As a plus we found several cockroaches im the flat and adjacent areas such as stairs etc.. and there was no pest control or roaches traps. It’s super expensive for the lack of hygiene and the bad customer service you get. Definitely don’t recommend!
We paid next to nothing for room including breakfast so you can’t expect the Ritz. This is the perfect place to stay if you want no frills, place to get your head down, budget accommodation. The bed was very comfortable. Think it was a memory foam mattress. We had a balcony that faced the sun. Room was a nice size. The shower wasn’t that great. Breakfast choice was limited and parking is difficult. It’s not as bad as other reviews made out but it is a basic budget hotel
This hotel was cheap. We had a balcony. Breakfast was fine (and very simple). The beach was only a few minutes away. It was a rather quiet room. However, there was no functioning WiFi, no hair dryer. The room wasn't clean, the wardrobe was broken. "Free parking" means on-street parking.
When we arrived, the staff was friendly enough and our room had a balcony and was clean. However the age of the place is noticeable and nothing has been updated. Our sink was broken, there was no functioning WiFi and the hot water broke the last night of our stay and leaked down into the floor below us. Also, to let us know that it was leaking they woke us up at 3am to “fix it”. The part that bothered me most though is how cheap it feels. Obviously it’s a bargain hotel, but they don’t bother to clean everyday, give you fresh towels, or change the sheets. As a hotel at the beach, it should be obvious rhat the rooms get very sandy and musty and need to be cleaned but oh well. Anyways, I’d avoid here if you can.
Villa Barbara is a very basic and noisy "hostel", although the room was clean and had all needs covered. Actually, what bothered me the most was the unfriendly staff. The breakfast is fine: cereal, milk, toast, cheese and ham, jams, etc., but I was honestly scared of asking for a spoon after the reaction of the man in charge. The way they treat you feels like they're doing you a favor for hosting you. Not a friendly environment. However, it is close to the beach and all the main streets/shops and bars in Can Picafort.
I give this hotel one point just because of the view. Otherwise it wasn't that nice of a visit.. I understand that it's still wintertime and that the season didn't start yet (and that's why they don't clean at all I guess), but if it says on the receipt that they will atleast change towels 2 times a week, well.. They kind of should. And when we after 6 days without receiving either toiletpaper or new towels, ask for it in the reception nicely, they shouldn't roll their eyes at you, ask you to come back a while later and then forget about it again. After reminding them, Hours later put the towels in the reception for us to get it and then forget the toiletpaper so we have to buy it ourselves.. Nah.. The staff didn't greet when they saw you and bearly even smiled and in general the room was a bit dirty with both alot of dust on the bed + a dead insect and an ant lying on the sheet the first I see when I entered the room. It should defenetely say somewhere that they don't even enter your room to clean not even once if that is the case, which it was. Maybe it's a nice place to stay one night or two, but for more days - atleast in the low season/winterseason - I wouldn't recomend it to anyone.…
We stayed at this hotel recently on a bed and breakfast basis. It is centrally located and good for access to the resort. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The bathroom was clean, but we had to use the shower early in the day as the water soon ran cold. There is a socket for a hairdryer although one is not provided. We had booked a sea view room, but the balcony looks on to a back street and our view of the sea was between houses and hotels, the only advantage was that we were not looking on to the main street in the resort so very little vehicle noise. If you are looking for somewhere to lay your head and spend the day on the beach, then this is ideal. We were given clean towels every two days, but the room was not cleaned once. We attended breakfast on our first morning and found it to be a continental cold breakfast. No boiled eggs, just cold ham, cheese, bread (which when it runs out is finished), jam, butter and a choice of cereal. If you like different types of tea then fine, but we only had English breakfast tea on one morning. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Would I use this hotel again, afraid not? It was adequate but that is all. It is more a hostel that hotel.…
On arrival we informed reception that the shower head holder on the wall was missing, they said they would replace it but didn't so we had to hand hold the shower head to wash in a little badly stained bath with an oversized shower curtain trying to block the drain. Extractor fan not working, soap dish missing ( holes where it once was) Net curtains removed although track still fitted. Air- con worked but oscillator broken. Balcony overlooks main street above shops so noisy clubbers returning all night until 06.00am keep you awake. Room not cleaned or bed made during 1 weeks stay. Warm water, milk and orange juice at every breakfast. On the plus side clean towels every 2 days & close to beach.
Having never stayed in Ca'n Picafort before we did not know what to expect so thought that we would give Villa Barbara a try.The location is ideal near to the beach, rear rooms you can see it.Near enough for everything bars, eating places and shops for the ladies. The breakfast which is included was a continental style good and fresh, when I read some of the other reviews about the breakfast I did not know what to expect for us it was no problem and there was ample food for everybody. The owners are for me first class as soon as we arrived they could not do enough for us. Attentive to every thing and friendly. When it was time to leave one of the owners was kind enough to come out of the hotel onto the street to thank us, yes thank us for our stay, how many other places would do that? People usually say when you have been to a resort would you go again? too right I would if people can make me welcome and look after me while on holiday, what more do you want? …
Another great short stay at villa barbara for a budget hotel this one ticks all the boxes , comfortable beds clean linen and towels and adequate bathroom facilities and a reasonable buffet breakfast , please don't expect miracles because you ain't paying for them but all in all an excellent hotel at the cost and only two minutes from the beach and all the facilities of Can Picafort .
