Detailed Reviews
We stayed in the larger side with the restaurant, we had paid for a sea view but was given a room on the side when asked at reception was told any room from reception forward is classed as a sea view, which we had paid extra for disappointing, food was average as British are not really catered for. The location of the hotel was great and everything was in walking distance.sitting on balcony was hit and miss as there was a smell of sewage most of the time, kettle was in room but no milk as only peppermint tea provided. When first got there jumped straight in shower as was a long journey and was red hot the shampoo that hotel provided smelt like vile and was unusable.

The hotel is beautiful and absolutely spotless. The staff are friendly, attentive and very helpful. There is an elevator in the hotel so getting to our room with our suitcases was easy. The views are beautiful. We had a side sea view with x2 balconies - one overlooking the town, the other overlooking the sea. Absolutely breathtaking views and the beach is a minutes walk away. We had the bed and breakfast package and the breakfast is great with a lot of variety from cooked breakfast, continental and a lot of fresh pastries, pancakes, cakes and fruit - all buffet style. The location of the hotel is perfect with the beach being so close and you’re a stone throw away from shops, restaurants and bars - all to which we had great experiences with. I went with my brother and we had a great time. The only downside was that there was no evening entertainment, or any entertainment at the hotel, however, this may be because we visited out with peak season. Nonetheless, still a very relaxing holiday and we’d recommend this hotel to everyone. It should be 5*! Our rooms were also cleaned to a high standard daily with replacement towels and toilet roll. A wonderful time overall and would definitely come back.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The apartment we stayed in was lovely, the staff were welcoming and the food was nice!
Only downfall was the pool. We realised if you want a sunbed, you have to be up at 7 to get one. At least I caught the sunrise 😂 There are no rules for claiming a sunbed which I believe there should be as there were a few times there would be towels on sunbeds and no one showing up until late afternoon, leaving people 🥴🤔
This is definitely more of a location for Germans and a lot of the entertainment is for Germans also.
Other than that, the apartment was lovely. It was very modern and spacious. The bathroom was my fave as you could change the colour of the lights - easily pleased 😂
You could get a safe which was €3 per day, this was unlocked using a pin- so no key to carry around.
It was my birthday whilst we were away and without saying anything, they left a bottle and a cute little happy birthday card.
We had two balconies, one off the bedroom with an egg chair and the other off the sitting area with a table and chairs. We had a side sea view which was lush but due to the sun setting on our balcony side and it being 30+ degrees at 9pm we couldn’t take advantage of it. 🥺
Beer was only €2 here!🤯 and cocktails from €6.50 which were unreal. The Bar tender (didn’t catch his name but looks like Vince Vaughn) shout out to him! Tipped him and we got a free shot of our choice which he joined in!
There was only entertainment on the Friday which we were gutted about as they have a lovely sitting area at the bar and feel it could have potential to be a lovely entertainment area which would attract more people.
We had breakfast here every day. You got your classic English breakfast buffet, eggs made to order and a range of fruit and pastries 🤤 We rented a boat one of the days and thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of the bread rolls and meat selection and made ourselves some sandwiches to take with us!
You could also hire paddle boards from the hotel- 1 hour €15 or 2 hours €20. We went with 2 hours but I think 1 hour is enough. Carry then across the path and you’re at the beach. 👌🏽
We won this holiday with Jet 2 but I would 100% come back.

We stayed in October 2024 with two people at THB Gran Bahía in Mallorca. Stayed 4 days in one of the apartments with kitchen. We had an accommodation with sea views and I found it a great atmosphere, right by the sea, with two balconies, one of which was in the bedroom and you could almost already look at the sea right upon waking up. In general, you have this great view almost throughout the hotel, as you can see the sea from almost every seat, whether at the pool table in the bar or in the restaurant, the atmosphere is just great. The staff was friendly and there for any questions, most have spoken English, a lady at the reception also a bit German. The cleaning ladies unfortunately only Spanish, but we were still able to communicate somehow, because of the cleaning of the rooms. I can't say anything about the food because we cooked ourselves. The kitchenette was a bit small and only quite little equipped, which I did not find particularly bad. The most necessary was there to prepare a little something simple. Everything was clean and tidy upon our arrival, the beds were comfortable and comfy (I am quite sensitive there and have experienced quite another). The decor of the rooms is modern and appealing, I think. The bathroom equipped with a large, open shower and large mirrors. Throughout the hotel it always smelled pleasant of fresh room scent and the atmosphere was overall noble and pleasant and you always heard quiet music in the background. Only to complain I would have that the pool is quite small and the loungers have very little space to the neighbor, all a bit narrow, but we didn't really use these either, since the sea can be reached directly in a few meters, we were mostly there. Furthermore, I noticed that the rooms are simply very spartan isolated, you really heard everything from the neighbor and also from the street. Since we had quiet neighbors, I didn't find it so disturbing and in October there wasn't that long evening noise on the streets either, but in summer in high season I can imagine this annoying, earplugs are essential if you are sensitive. There is within walking distance, about 20 minutes an Aldi and also right next to the hotel a supermarket, with self-catering food, which is open for a long time, but is also slightly more expensive. Bars, restaurants and other shops are all in the immediate vicinity. The hotel is not cheap but I would book it again, the price-performance ratio was right for me. We felt very comfortable!

Hotel very clean, but tired in some places, rooms nice, but unfortunately the cleaning wasn't great,i spilt a coffee mark on the side table 2nd day in,just to see how they clean, unfortunately still there on day 7,i could of cleaned it off but i was just testing as the room floor always felt like it had sand on it,shower unfortunately let's all the water out over the floor so can become slippery, now if you are English I really don't think this is the right hotel for you,the breakfast is very hit & miss, this hotel is mostly German & Dutch & I feel quite proud how polite the English can be in comparison,we were the minority & it just wasn't the right hotel for us,breakfast was time consuming, you had to wait for individual eggs to be cooked so the que was very long, only two eggs at a time,or longer if they were making an omelette, even though a great cooking area, the lady was lovely, but the gentleman didn't even lift his head to say good morning,(something us brits do I suppose?) We had half board but ate out every day,the food just didn't cut it for a four star hotel ( our opinion) if you want to sit by the pool (we didn't) be prepared to squeeze in it's tiny & towels are laid from 7.30am,great location, next to lots of restaurants & pubs & beach, unfortunately no entertainment at the hotel, only one night which was a tribute Elton John who we found quite funny, more than a great voice, unfortunately we won't be returning to this part of the island as the rubbish around was quite sad,( not the hotel) litter being left & cigarette buts were awful on the beach. But I must give a mention to Babara as she was the only staff member to say hello every time she saw us,lovely lady & a credit to the hotel.

We stayed here in October 2022 for 4 nights right at the end of the season so was very quiet. Hotel is brilliantly located right in the middle of the resort and on the beach but still feels relatively private and quiet, we made good use of the beach and even though there’s lots of space to lounge inside and outside the hotel, if you’re all about the pool then loungers are in short supply vs size of the hotel. The hotel has a nice feel balancing holiday vibes with a bit of peace and good clientele.
Staff were all really nice throughout the hotel, breakfast was superb with fantastic views of the promenade from the restaurant, and really good to have a hotel with an adequate amount of tea/coffee machines!
We were upgraded to a sea view room on arrival. The sea views are amazing and would recommend to pay the extra, but I think we had a bad room right above the restaurant so every morning I was woken up to the sounds, also found the walls were paper thin - never usually an issue for me as I’m a solid sleeper so they must have been really thin here!! Room and balcony good size, very clean and good amenities in the room, only gripe is that the shower tended to flood the bathroom easily which I think needs looking at. Either the bathrooms need converting properly to wet rooms of the showers tray need to be made much bigger.
We tend to holiday in Can Picafort most years and I think this may well have become our hotel of choice for future trips, can’t wait to return

We enjoyed our stay but a couple of things could have been better.
The aircon in the room was rubbish. The lowest it went to was 21° but it still felt much hotter.
We were in room 310 and the balcony was tiny.
The pool itself is lovely but there are nowhere near enough loungers. There were people arguing over them one day.
The breakfast was lovely! There was a big variety to pick from whether you like a cooked breakfast or continental.
The evening meal was average, sometimes the choices were a bit limited.
The hotel is set over 2 buildings, one with apartments and one with rooms. The swimming pool and bar are on the side with the apartments and the the restaurant is on the rooms side.
The hotel is well located, right on the beach front. We had a swim in the sea and it was really nice. The hotel provide beach towels in the room.
It was my birthday while I was there and they left me a card and a bottle of brut in the room which I thought was really nice as I hadn't told then it was my birthday.
The resort and the hotel seem to be geared towards the German Market.
The staff were all friendly.
We ate in the onsite restaurant for lunch one day and although it was lovely I did think it was a little expensive.

It is our 2nd time in Can Picafort, we had walked past this hotel and admired the pool many times on our last visit so we decided to book it for this holiday. We did not realise it wasn't just the white building but the larger hotel next door also that shared the small pool area.
As a couple with a nearly 3 year old we was looking forward to days by the pool....unfortunately all the 39 sunbeds (yes only 39 beds for 2 big hotels!) These were all 'reserved' by 7am! Even though the pool did not open until 10am. We didn't get to go around the pool area once in our weeks visit! Some beds were taken early and still no one had sat on them until gone dinner time.
Our room was lovely. A 1 bed apartment although the only dividing part was a noisy sliding door that showed light through from the kitchen/living room area. We had paid extra for a front sea view but one of our balconies was definitely a side view and this was the one with the chairs and table.
The reception/bar area was dead every day and night. Looked closed most the time.
Overall, not somewhere we would book again. No atmosphere, nothing for kids, pool was non existent to us!
Recommend drinks at Jamaican Bar, JS Miramar Hotel....
Recommend food at Dakota, Jamaican Bar and El Gaucho.
Definitely highly recommend Can Picafort but we definitely won't be back to this hotel.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I'm sorry to hear that your stay at the hotel did not meet your expectations. It's disappointing when the facilities and atmosphere don't align with what you were hoping for in a vacation. Additionally, your recommendations for drinks and food in the area can be beneficial for those looking for alternatives to hotel services. best regards.

Spend a week in the hotel.Obviously reception staff and check in was just ok’ish but not proper 4* hotel trained staff. The lady was serving me than she interacted by her colleague and they had a chat for few minutes, obviously she didn’t bother about guests is awaiting and we was in the middle of checking in…Definitely not 4 stars hotel experience. Finally got my key and the room number. Obviously room is not massive but enough space for two people considering we spend all day outside on the beach…Room is very clean, housekeeping is taking responsibility for the cleaning.
The massive point down is the rudeness of restaurant waiters staff … I do understand hotel was busy because of season and some of them is very tired but why it’s should reflect on the customers…? The lady approached with very unhappy face and asked if I would like any drinks, when I said I’m ok, thank, she just grabbed the empty glasses off the table with no happiness on her face…
Obviously I came for holiday to relax not to fight or complain about anything but some of the situation were just ridiculous and very unpleasant . In overall lovely hotel location, beautiful reception and lovely room but staff really need good customer service training…
One more thing about food, breakfast was ok but dinner needs a bit more work on the menu…Be ready to pay for any drinks in the dinner time on your half board…no even water dispenser can be used in the restaurant in the evening. I don’t think it’s right…
However I hope to be ok and be back next year because of fantastic location…

Response from Miguel Garcia, Director General at Hotel Thb Gran Bahia
Responded Nov 15, 2023
Dear elinag141, Thank you for sharing your experience at the hotel. It's disappointing to hear that the rudeness of the restaurant staff impacted your holiday. Customer service is a crucial aspect of any hotel experience, and it's regrettable when it falls short of expectations. It's positive to note that the reception and check-in process, as well as the cleanliness of the room, met your standards. Your feedback about the restaurant staff's behavior is duly noted, and it's unfortunate that their demeanor had a negative impact. The lack of enthusiasm and attentiveness during check-in and at the restaurant can indeed mar the overall experience. I appreciate your constructive feedback about the need for better customer service training for the staff. It's crucial for hospitality establishments to ensure that their employees provide a welcoming and positive experience for guests. Additionally, your observations about the food and the need for improvement in the dinner menu are valuable. It's essential for hotels to continually assess and enhance their offerings to meet guest expectations. I hope that your concerns will be addressed, and improvements will be made to ensure a more pleasant experience for guests in the future. Despite the challenges, it's great to hear that you enjoyed the hotel's location and are considering returning next year. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and I hope your next visit exceeds your expectations. Best regards,

The hotel's great location is its greatest advantage. Most of the windows have a wonderful view of the sea and are located right next to the promenade. Large lobby, rooms not too big, but functional and comfortable. The pool is not very big and it is difficult to find sun loungers. The hotel restaurant is ok - for breakfast everyone will find something for themselves (except maybe scrambled eggs which are made of powder and taste terrible). Staff very nice. Dinners at the hotel are varied, but the food is not of the highest order and is rather associated with a canteen. However, there are plenty of fantastic places in the area where you can eat really well - so it is best to choose accommodation only with breakfast. The beach in front of the hotel is public, 2 sun loungers and an umbrella cost 17 Euro for one day, but this is standard. The hotel allows you to stay in case of a late flight - there is a swimming pool, lobby, luggage storage, and fully equipped bathrooms and showers, which is a very nice convenience. Overall, compared to other hotels in this place, it is really great and is worth recommending.
