Great family hotel in a quiet area but still very close to the center. The rooms are spacious and clean, the food was great and the personnel was very warm and welcoming (specially Miguel at the restaurant, Begoña from the cleaning crew and the young lady at the reception). The only slightly inconvenient thing is that you hear everything happening in the rooms nearby and the corridor, but considering its an old (but nicely renovated) 3 star hotel this was totally fine for us. Would totally recommend it!
My partner and I arrived at the hotel late at night on arrival we were offered food which we accepted, sadly some of the food wasn't upto standard and we didn't eat it on night of arrival. The next morning we informed staff about the food, they couldn't have been any nicer and apologised for their mistake, they also gave us a bottle of cava as part of the apology. The hotel was lovely and clean, food was decent, staff are really lovely... Both Miguel and Barbara stood out most for us although everyone was kind. The area is mostly German visitors but this didn't effect our holiday and we managed to communicate with both locals and other visitors. This hotel gives what it says they offer. We enjoyed our stay and had a lovely holiday together.
We are so happy and highly recommend the hotel, the people are supper friendly and helpful we had such a good experience there. great location in the heart of Cala Ratjada. will definitely come back. Olga & Aivaras
We have been in Cala Rajada in the end of June: we have enjoyed in Flacalco Hotels: All of we need. Good apartment, nice pool, a marvellous Mediterranean garden and good service with phantastic meals! I'm sure we will come back as soon as possible.
Great choice for money and value. This hotel is very peaceful and family friendly and tries to maintain its status as well. We had a problem with loud drunk Germans (I guess no wonder, as this island is more German than Spanish) but the hotel solved our problem immediately, moved us to a more quiet room and even did not want us to pay for the champagne we ordered, as a compensation. Personally, I really appreciate this gesture and want to thank the director and also receptionist Rodrigo (?) who was really funny, but professional and helpful as well. Overall, we stayed for 7 days, had half board, which was a good choice, as the breakfast and dinner changed every day with the food being very good :-) even the waiter and waitresses were doing great jobs too. I know that to have a job like this may be exhausting and is really demanding at times, so I give the Flacalco staff thumbs up for their excellent approach and all the smiles :-) if we ever stay in Cala Ratjada again, we will come back to this hotel. Thank you for letting us feel like home during our stay.…
On a positive note, the beds are comfy, the air conditioning is perfect and the maids change the towels frequently and the beds are made every day. That's the good bit over and done with. The rooms are extremely small, even for me as a solo traveller, this is tiny compared to the studio apartment I stayed in last year. The rooms are tired, the hotel look as though they have chosen to update the bathrooms when realistically the rooms need improving. The laminate flooring is cheap. This is supposed to be a family hotel, yet during my stay I unfortunately witnessed very bad behaviour on the Saturday night. I was woken at 12 midnight, 3am and 6am by a group of drunken idiots. This was scary for a lady on her own believe me. At midnight it sounded as though they were trying to kick a door in, it was very loud and they were obviously drunk out of their tiny minds. This was followed at 3am by shouting, screaming, crying (maybe usual when so drunk, I do not know) and then again at 6am, so I had no sleep whatsoever. Not what I personally look for when I book a quiet room in a hotel complex. To the food - average at best. No proper sausages at breakfast, only tiny spicy sausages, definitely not to my taste and maybe catering more towards German guests. The scrambled egg is not so good, dry and not particularly tasty. The fried eggs were good, but the bacon is undercooked and fatty in parts. The homemade pizza had a very hard base, as though it was undercoooked - disappointing. On my last evening I saw thai green chicken curry, so thought I would try this. On cutting into the chicken, it was not under-cooked, it was Red Raw!!!!!!!! Any normal human being knows eating raw chicken gives you food poisoning and this was not fit for purpose!! Some of the staff are helpful, but not all in my opinion. To summarise, I would not stay here again, given my experience with drunken guests who had no respect for anybody, let alone themselves. The rooms are too small, the food is not up to my usual standards and it is extremely basic. The bed as I stated is comfortable, making for a good sleep when not disturbed by idiots. The owners appear to be nice people, but this stay was let down by the hotel allowing drunken louts to stay at the hotel when there are young families who I am sure their children would have been disturbed by that disgusting behaviour and for me personally, this is not what I look for when I choose a place to stay. No return trip for me, I'm afraid, just my frank and honest opinion. The food needs improving, some if not most nights it was tepid warm, not hot and the pasta had parts which were not cooked at all. It takes 7 minutes to cook pasta from the boil, very easy to do.…
Lovely family run hotel. Staff were exceptional. Nothing too much trouble.Food was tasty with plenty of choice. We had a one bedroom apartment which was a decent size. Central to all beaches, shops, restaurants and buses. Would definitely come again.
A great hotel. I have stayed here for the last three years: twice in the hotel and once in the adjacent Flacalco Garden. On each occasion my room has been good and easily in keeping with the hotel’s 3 star rating. They have always made me feel most welcome. The Reception staff are friendly and helpful, even when I accidentally erased my room card (more than once) by placing it next to my mobile phone. There’s a small cocktail bar and lounge that opens onto the pool area. It’s run by Nico the barman who never seems to stop. My favourite pool area, though, is in the Flacalco Apartments just across the road. It’s a bigger area and tends to be quieter. (It was refurbished two years ago but some booking sites are still showing old pictures of the pool.) The hotel is located in a quiet area of Cala Ratjada but is only a few minutes’ walk to the resort’s main bars and restaurants. Don’t expect any English bars. The only one I have ever spotted is the Queen Vic but I have never seen anyone in there. I will be back next year.…
Just come back from a wonderful week in Majorca and this friendly family run hotel played a great part in our enjoyment. This is a 3 star hotel and charges 3 star prices, looking at some of the reviews you have to wonder what some people think they are getting for that. Customer service is second to none, we had a minor problem upon arrival, Stephen the Manager offered us a drink and sorted our problem for us in 10 mins. Nico the Bar/ Cocktail man will remember you, he knows your drinks but he also makes great cocktails from scratch. Both the Dinner Buffet and Breakfast are excellent. I was having three courses in the morning and three courses in the evening, Breakfast - fruit, cooked english breakfast, ensamada or croissant washed down with good coffee. Dinner - salads, vegetables, three meats, fish, a different paella every night, gateaux, ice cream or fruit again. All unlimited. I confess I put on 3 Pounds in a week. There are two areas of the hotel with a pool in each, you can use either. One side is better for sunbathing with a bigger selection of beds but with a small plunge pool, one side a bigger pool but a smaller sunbathing area. We had an apartment, the air con was very good ,cooled the room down in 5 mins. WIFI is free in the reception area, if you want it in your room or anywhere else in the hotel the cost is 15 Euros per week which covers up to two devices. The hotel is situated in a quieter area of Cala Ratjana but only 3 or 4 minutes walk from the shops and seafront/port. Few British go to Cala Ratjana but those that do are always made very welcome. Great beaches within 5 minutes car ride, it is possible to walk but in the heat we preferred to pay 5 euros a day parking, but get there before 11. Finally I will say again, this is a not five star hotel but it is good value for money, exceptionally friendly, has good facilities and is well positioned to explore the very good bars and restaurants of Cala Ratjana.…
We have been staying with Flacalco again, as now for about 50 years. Love the apartments, all the wonderful people running that hotel and we have just a wonderful time there. By now 3 generations of my family keep staying there starting back in 1965. The location is just perfect, just 5min walk to city in a quiet area. Recently renovated and upgraded like in most winters :)
