Good place to stay, calm and close to the port, restaurants and bars. Very nice and full buffet breakfast with various types of food. We enjoyed the whole day at a very pleasant and chilling swimming pool area with food and drinks. Recommend especially for good value for money.
My husband and myself have just arrived home after 5 days all inclusive at the Chevy Hotel. We arrived late morning, the receptionist informed us that the Hostal Montesol that we had booked was closed... however they had upgraded our accommodation to the hotel chevy at no extra cost! Bonus! We had already paid for all inclusive but the room upgrade was very much appreciated! ROOM - We stayed in room 110 opposite the reception. The room was big, extremely clean and very well equipped. There was a hairdryer, aircon (€7 per day), hair & bodywash, safe (unsure of costs as we did not use it), free wifi and tv (no english channels but we didn't mind as we only used it to play background music). The friendly cleaners came everyday to make up the room and swap towels and bedding. FOOD - Best food we have ever eaten in an all inclusive resort! Due to covid-19 there were changes to the areas food were served. Breakfast (8am till 10am) was served up for you in buffet style in the main restaurant. They offered all types of breakfasts, too much choice and all was cooked perfect! Dinner (1pm till 3pm) was available from the pool bar. This consisted of a 3 course meal menu (Starter, Main & Dessert) with 4 options on each course varying from vegetarian options and various meat options. The menus were rotated every two days. The meals were delicious and always presented very well. Evening meal (7pm till 9pm) was again served at the pool bar. I initially thought this was abit informal but the atmosphere was perfect, very chilled and welcoming. All inclusive drinks were available 11am till 11pm and the pool bar was open 10am till 12am. The all inclusive drinks included beers, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks, coffees and water. This was more than suffice! POOL - the pool was very clean everyday and was tested and checked regularly by the maintenance guy. It even had a disability seat for pool access. There was also a pool table, darts, table tennis, free wifi and toilets in the pool/bar area. CLEANLINESS - The whole hotel and pool area was cleaned to a very high standard daily and the hotel had all the facilities you could have needed such as free wifi, lockers, luggage storage, internet computer access etc. STAFF - no matter what their role, the hotel staff went above and beyond to meet your needs. They were all extremely friendly and helpful. We had a good time chatting to all the bar/waiting staff! The area (Cala Ratjada) was fairly quiet. Unless you like buying designer clothes or handbags there wasn't a massive amount to do, however we went to just relax by the pool so this was not an issue for us. Their is a few touristy shops and bars/restaurants that we visited. We walked around the marina then followed the coastal path all the way to the beach at Cala Gat. This is a small local beach with a little beach bar but selling drinks and snacks. During our time here we realised we were the only British people, the majority of guests were German and Spanish with some occasional french. This wasn't an issue as most of them were friendly towards us. I do think the area caters more for these nationalities as at times we noticed there were no english signs/menus/notices. However despite this we managed to get by and most staff knew enough english to communicate basics with us. I wouldn't recommend this area/hotel for children as there was no entertainment or play parks etc but for adults wanting a cheap, clean and quiet little get away with delicious food options then this place is for you! Overall I would give it a solid 9/10 for exceeding our expectations! …
Receptionists are very nice and helpful! They booked us very early, offered something to drink and we got coffee, it was really really nice. We communicated in English, but I heard that they also know German. The best receptionists we have met. We got a voucher for free drink in Chevy Club in city centre. Hotel room was very clean, comfortable and cozy. Nice decor. In our room it was silent at night but if it was noisy, we wouldn't bother this. Private bathroom and toilet was also clean in very nice. There is a hairdryer, towels, hand soap and shampoo/shower gel in the bathroom. We had air conditioner and tv but we did not use it. Almost every tv program is German, but there also music radio stations so it was ok ;) Location was ideal for us, because its's close to city centre (we like Mallorca's nightlife) and there is small beach Cala Gat near Chevy Hotel. If you want a bigger beach, you need to go to Cala Agulla beach. There is many to see in Cala Ratjada, we almost everyday explored Mallorca, it was the best experience. Breakfasts were very tasty, we had various ingredients to choose and we mixed it, there was also possibility to make sugarless dishes; there was whole grain dark bread for diabetics. Everyday fresh food! Service was always ready to add new food from the kitchen and they did it very quickly so there was always full of every food. Free wifi works the best at reception. In this hotel and in whole Mallorca almost every person is German.…
Super recomendo! . If I come back to Mallorca I have no doubt that I will look for Hotel Chevy again. What a pleasant surprise. Everything was excellent: the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, the spaciousness of the room, the varied and excellent food at every meal. A very good value for money. Super recommend it!
There are several buildings, suites are near pool. Suites were spacious, 2 nice, separate rooms, both with air conditioner, with balcony. Nice bathroom with good shower. Very good soundproofing - no noise at all from pool, with closed windows. Very good breakfast with very wide choices - different sausages everyday, egg prepared in various ways, fruits, fresh croissants and so on. Located in quiet neighborhood, 5 mins walking from promenade with all restaurants, free parking on the streets near. Beautiful Cala Agulla beach is in walking distance (5min with the car), also Cala Mesquida beach with amazing dunes are 15min driving away.
We stayed for just one night in August for the local bank holiday. Check in took a while as there was only one lady at the desk and a few people in front of us but once checked in everything was excellent. The room was freshly decorated, large balcony and decent bathroom with very good shower. The pool area and bar isn’t huge but nor is the hotel so it never felt too crowded and we got sun beds when we went swimming. We were all inclusive and it was good value if only for the room and a few drinks by the pool. However the quality of the food in the restaurant was poor (including sobrasada sushi for dinner, just weird!). We would definitely return as the hotel is well located - close to everything but still quiet at night. Next time we would just go room only and eat at one of the many cafes or restaurants nearby. …
Very comfortable hotel with pleasant staff. Hotel after renovation, the room has everything you need: TV, air conditioning, hairdryer, clean linen and towels. Delicious and varied food for breakfast, lunch and dinner: a lot of seafood, desserts, pastries, ice cream, juices, coffee, alcohol, cocktails. Nice pool with bar with great music! The pool has a lifeguard and is equipped for people with disabilities. Every evening there are concerts, karaoke. I would like to thank the staff: friendly, with humor, very good attitude to the guests. The atmosphere is very friendly! Special thanks I want to say to Svety at the reception for a friendly attitude and help! This hotel is located between several excellent beaches! All within walking distance! Everyone can choose a beach according to their preferences. Near the hotel there is a bus stop and public parking for cars. I think we will be happy to return to this hotel!…
Very good hotel&reasonable price! Rooms very clean, towels changed everyday. We chose economic option and the rooms were just as on photos (THE NEW ONES, after the renovation) clean, modern and with air condition. Staff very nice and helpful. Nice beach (Platja Agulla) is 15minutes walkings distance from the hotel, another (Platja Mesquida) 10km far away but less crowded so I'd recommand going there. Breakfasts were very nice as well. Really good hotel in Cala Ratjada
Pretty hotel with nice service, good pool, good rooms. A very rich breakfast is offer in the morning, and the pool bar in open untill midnight. The ambient is clean everyday and the team is always kind and ready to help.
We stayed here from 20/09/16 to 29/09/16. Well firstly I have to state that I cannot really give a honest review on the hotel Vista Pinar as for our stay we were placed in a hostel (Hostel Montesol) which is a completely separate building from the main hotel, about 200 yards away, and down another street on the total opposite side of the road to even the back of one of the main buildings. The Hotel management insist though that this is part of the hotel, so I'll do my best. I will include the actual resort in part of this review as I believe it is very relevant for any Brits staying in this town as a whole. We booked the Hotel Vista Pinar on half board basis, when we arrived we were pointed in the direction about 50 to 100 yards to the end of the restaurant building and a further 100 yards approximately up a side road, on the opposite side to a completely isolated building, with a sign on the front clearly saying "Hostal Montesol". It had its own reception area ( unmanned) a bar area (closed) and it's own pool, no pool beds and obviously just left uncleaned and unused. I say all this simply to enforce that this is indeed a total separate entity from the hotel, in fact on line you can actually book it as such, I didn't want a Hostel, therefore I didn't book it. This was my arguement in the morning when I spoke to the hotel management. They argued that it was the same business and that on my booking it clearly said annexe building. This is where I should point out that the Vista Pinar, although on its website all looks like it's one complex surrounding the pool area is actually 2 separate buildings and a totally separate pool area, all on one crossroad junction. The reception and rooms above on one corner, the restaurant and rooms above on the direct opposite corner and the pool area on the corner to the left of reception as you face it. The Hostal Montesol is separate again. So these are all actually annexe buildings, and I pointed out that was fine, but you would expect an annexe building to be directly opposite or attached to the main building, not 150-200 yards away down another street! We were not the only ones with this complaint, another family of 8 were also unhappy with this. To be totally fair, the management were very helpful and sympathetic and Alpha rooms, whom I booked with, were also very helpful. Unfortunately there were no other rooms in the main hotel, but Alpha rooms admitted it was their fault because of the misleading advertising and eventually we were upgraded to all inclusive and had free Wi-Fi for the entire stay thrown in as well. The family of 8 were also all upgraded from b&b to all inclusive. The Hostal Montesol is very basic, and the stairs may pose a problem for anyone with walking difficulties. The decor is very worn, but to be honest we wouldn't have minded if it was near the pool area. Our balcony only got sun for a couple of hours in the morning, so if you end up anywhere but the front you won't get much sun either. The main hotel looked fine, although obviously we never got to see inside the rooms, but from what we could see they looked a lot more modern. The reception covered the restaurant area entrance also and so the security did not look a problem in the main hotel, but the Hostal Montesol is stuck on its own completely isolated, so to advertise this as 24 hour reception would be totally deceiving. The pool area with the hotel is actually very nice and we never had a problem with seating or sun loungers, even though the hotel was full, due to German beer fest. The other issue with this hotel as with the town as a whole, is it is completely German orientated, there was one British family at the hotel and we only met one more British family during our whole 9 night stay, and they were just passing through. Nothing against German people, but the Spanish working here mainly only spoke Spanish or German, most signs and menus over not only the hotel but the resort as a whole are in Spanish and German. No British football, all Bundersligue and even Champions league, they only showed German teams. No British entertainment anywhere. Cala Ratjada is a beautiful place if you just want to relax, or if you like walking, as the beaches and surrounding scenery is also stunning, the town itself is quite pretty. The food at the hotel is adequate, simple buffet with enough choice for a 2 star hotel. The hotel staff were mainly helpful and very nice. But be warned if booking here, make sure you are in the main hotel and be aware that if it says annexe building, you may end up in the Hostal Montesol. Because of this mix up I can only rate according to where I actually stayed, but I have to take into consideration what I was expecting, I'm afraid this time the two definitely did not marry.…
