The Good:

The staff are mostly great, especially the activities coordinator (I think his name is Jordi) - such a nice guy who goes out of his way to make sure everyone is enjoying their stay. He had a chat to us on his day off in the bar and he's so easy going and pleasant.

The food was also really nice; not a massive choice compared to other all inclusive hotels I've stayed at but quality and taste was excellent.

Parking was easy in the street outside or in a free public car park literally a one minute walk away.

The Bad:

It should just be called Illot Suites as the Spa is closed and based on what I both heard and saw will not be reopening any time soon. The staff have been told to blame Covid but it's clearly because it needs work.

The hotel is really nice in parts but is showing its age in other areas. There is an abandoned tennis court with no net out the back; the squash courts have been converted to a children's play room and the outdoor area next to the pool has more weeds than grass.

The all inclusive drink menu is limited with little choice of cocktails and only a handful of spirits (none of them branded - all Lidl own brand) with no supplement option.

Location:

If you haven't been to Capdepara or the surrounding area before, it's worth noting it's quite a journey to most other parts of the island. If you like exploring, the location probably isn't for you. If hiring a car, be it's roughly 1h15 to Palma, 1h30 to Soller and surprisingly over an hour to Alcudia. However if you're happy to stay in the town, it's well served with loads of restaurants and a few nice beaches.

Overall:

I actually enjoyed my stay here despite the above "bad" comments. I do think they should be clearer / more honest about the Spa, especially on third party booking sites. However for the price we paid, I felt I got reasonable value for money and have stayed in far worse hotels that have cost more. If the owners tidy up some of the more tired areas of the building and sort the spa out it would be a great hotel to stay at.

Dear David, We are very sorry to have been late in responding to your comment. However, we would like to thank you for booking your holiday with us last year. We also extend our deepest gratitude to you for taking the time to post your experience and helping us to improve with your welcome input. We read with great happiness you had an enjoyable stay, seeing the coast and exploring the spectacular beaches of Mallorca. However, we are sorry to find you were not warned in advance the spa was not available. Therefore, we must apologise if this devalued your stay. On the other hand, we are pleased to read the staff contributed to the enjoyment of your visit, thus, they would like to thank you for your kindness. As we have said before, your suggestions and opinions are most relevant. For this reason, the management will consider your words when it comes to making improvements. We hope this will make you eager to visit us again. Best regards. Hotel Illot Suites & Spa.

This hotel is definitely not a 4star, more a 2star if I'm honest. The room we were first given was facing the shops and restaurants out the back. The noise was horrendous coming from the equipment from the restaurants and smell and mess from their bins was awfull. Thankfully we moved rooms after we showed the man on reception the video we took at 5am in the morning. The description of the hotel is falsely advertised, there is no spa. On finding this l was very disappointed. There is no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms but you can ask for a kettle but you need your own cups and stuff. The staff are run off their feet and are constantly changing from the dinning room to the bar. The staff help themselves to the buffet meal whilst your choosing what you'd like to eat. Food very repetitive and not much choice. One chef at the griddle was not happy and muttered on in Spanish that I'd taken my pork chop back to be cooked a little longer as it was pink as I'm not in the habit of eating raw meat. The alcoholic drinks were spot on and refreshing. This hotel really needs a good overhaul, it's dated. I would not stay here again.

Dear GilliandJ2886SK, We are surprised to hear you say we advertise ourselves as a spa hotel when this has not been advertised for years. The above is easily verified by visiting our website, and checking the name of the accommodation is Illot Suites, with no longer any services that we do not offer. However, we are sorry you received incorrect information and felt disappointed because our hotel did not meet your expectations. On the other hand, you noticed the excellent attention of the team, who, knowing you were not comfortable in your room, tried to make you feel at home as soon as possible so you could enjoy your time as much as possible. Even so, it seems we did not manage to improve your experience and we apologise, as our main goal is your satisfaction. Therefore, we reiterate our regrets for not having provided you with the holiday you were looking forward to. Best regards. Hotel Illot Suites.

We were staying at Hotel Illiot for 9 nights in 2019. Me, my husband and our kids, 5 and 7 years old. It is a great hotel for families with small but nice swimming pools. Inside the hotel there is another swimming pool and sauna. Room was like in typical 3 star hotel, with fridge and flat TV and a small balcony with table and chairs. There was a squash, tennis and gym place. For kids there was a mini club inside and disco/activities every evening. All staff was very nice but we need to say special thank You to one member of staff Kamal, he really makes a difference for that hotel, he was like a diamond. Really special guy, running all activities with smile always and great attitude. Food was great as well, we can't complain, great choice, fresh and tasty. Excellent activities every afternoon and evening, bingo, quizes, mini disco, reptile show, cyrcus show, mini games with prizes, air rifle shooting...I can recommend that place to all families.

First of all, the aircon throughout the hotel is not working, ground floor, restaurant, pretty much like a sauna in 34 degree heat.

Selection of food is average, still you could fill your stomach with something.

Room: main disappointment is the aircon in the room which has not been cleaned in ages. Your clearly see it is full of dust fluff, poorly working and noisy. The plastic base from the shower is damaged.

Beds and pillows are very poor quality, but very poor quality.

Definitely not deserving 4 stars. Wouldn’t give even 2.

Dear Constantinn135, At the outset, we send our apologies for the delay in responding to your feedback. Unfortunately, we must continue to apologise again for not meeting your expectations. We are indeed saddened to read the lack of air conditioning spoiled your holiday, and we are sorry if this simple cause meant you could not enjoy the island. However, we would have greatly appreciated it if you had considered some of our positive aspects such as our idyllic location, the excellent attention of the staff, or the great value for money we made available to you. Despite the above, we are grateful for your suggestions, which will be attended by the staff in charge. It only stays for us to reiterate our regrets for your dissatisfaction, and at the same time, we send you our best regards. Hotel Illot Suites & Spa.

We only picked this hotel because of the heated swimming pool only to be told it was not working. The all inclusive deal does not include alcohol. There is no kettle tea or iron in the rooms. The kids playroom is boring. The lifts stink. This is not a 4 star. There is no mini disco for kids. The pictures look too good on the website in reality it's too old here. The staffs however are kind and helpful.

Greetings Shuka26, We are truly dismayed to read your experience at our accommodation did not meet your expectations. On the same note, we would like to inform you the management is already aware of your opinion. Your suggestions will be considered when making improvements. Finally, the staff would like to thank you for your positive feedback and send you their best wishes. In any case, we hope you enjoyed your days spent exploring the incredible beauty of Mallorca. We visited with family after being let down by an Airbnb booking 9 days prior to our holiday.

Despite the late notice we managed to fit all 19 family members (varying in age between toddler and retired) for a weeks half board.

Expecting the least from a last minute booking we were more than pleasantly surprised.
Greeted at 2am with snacks and cold drinks after a long transfer and a quick check in considering the party size.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful - (sidenote...Jesus at the hotel bar makes wonderful sangria). The hotel was clean and well kept, shower rooms available downstairs after checkout to use beside departure which were great.

My only (very small) negative of the whole week was not having water provided with the evening meal.
We booked half board and had thought a drink would be included. As it wasn't, you were obliged to purchase drinks from hotel and were not allowed to bring any of your own drinks with you. This would have been absolutely fair enough had some water been provided - maybe a suggestion for future improvement?

We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!

Dear Katharyn, It was an absolute pleasure to be your accommodation last year during your visit to Mallorca. Even if it was unexpected, we would also like to thank you for choosing us, and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are glad to read you and your large family were comfy during your visit. Even more so, considering the different age ranges. Furthermore, we love how you enjoyed our services, facilities, and the friendly attention of the staff. Therefore, we would like to thank you for valuing these aspects so generously. On the other hand, we regret that drinks were not included as part of the Half Board, and we apologise if you were surprised by this fact. However, you did provide us with a very interesting idea which will be passed on to the management for its consideration. We would be very happy to welcome you again this season, would you like to join us? Kind regards. Hotel Illot Suites & Spa.

Hotel is 3 Stories high with good sized rooms, which have a small kichenette area and balcony. All of which were clean and tidy. It is in need of some updating and maintenance, such as the indoor pool had some tiles missing from the bottom of the pool and some of the decking around he pool area was a little loose. None of which affected our holiday though. It was great havin an utdoor and in door pool, we used both equally as much. The Reception area in the hotel is lovely and the small pool area there has numerous Turtles that live there. We travelled on an all inclusive basis which worked out brilliantly for us. There were a mixture of nationalities there, including German, Spanish, English and I think some french and Italians.
This hotel is only 10 - 15 minute walk from a couple of beaches. The Hotel do provide a shuttle bus to and from the beach but we found that after a big breakfast or lunch that we preferred to walk to the beach !! there are numerous shops and restaurants within minutes and also the Marina is only a 10 minute walk with lots of restaurants and shops there too. The transfer time from the airport was about 1.5 hours. We went on a n excursion to Western Water Park in Magaluf and had a great day out there. The hotel can arrange this for you too. There are numerous other excursions available but we were too busy with staying at the hotel and the beach and time just ran out.
Staff at this hotel are fantastic. They all speek some English and if they don't know then they ask someone else. So we never got stuck. Room cleaning was good too. Our safe broke on the first day we were there and upon contacting reception they had someone there to fix it within 10 minutes. WE did use the Laundry service ( or should I say my partner did and I did my own washing, he said it was too much trouble !! ) However for the few items he put in there the bill was approx 30 Euros so this was expensive. Childcare in the Mini Cub run by the lovely "Vita" was brilliant. Vita is a gorgeous girl who loves the kids to bits and makes them feel very special. This runs daily except Mondays from 10 am till 12:45 and then from 3 till 5 I think. we didn't use the Mini Club all the time, but whenever Vita saw our 4 year old, Caitlin she would come straight over and ask her to join in the poolside activities that Mini club were doing. So it is open for all the children to join in they don't have to be there from 10am they can join in anytime. Vita was just the best person and Caitlin and our other two daughters who are 11 and 12 also loved her as much. They also assisted Vita with some of the games she was trying to arrange to Vita mad them feel really special too
There is one Restaurant which you have your Breakfast, lunch and dinner in. and to save and confusions you always have the same table. This was great as our Children went in an ate by themselves sometimes during the day and they knew exactly where to go etc The restaurant area is spotless. (That is with the exception of a Saturday night when it is Chocolate fountain night and people just let their young children go up there and just delv into the fountain creating a mess !!) The food is brilliant. We are lucky to have kids who eat almost anything, but everyday you get the standard, Pizza and chips followed by numerous different, meat, fish, pasta, vegetable dishes, mexican night. This is on top of salads and breads, cakes, ice creams and freshly made chocolate cakes and a massive selection of fresh fruit at every sitting. Plus there are cakes between 3 and 4 on the terrace and pizza and selection of sandwiches from 5 till 6 so you never go hungry. Our 4 yeard old loved the chocolate ice cream from the bar, we lost count of how many she had daily. We had a lovely chef called Jarvis, who was pleased to see us as we were one of the few families who spoke english. He was great with the kids encouraging them to eat their vegetables, so much so they would actually go up and show him their plates to prove that they had a range of colours on their plate. He also produced some amazing sauces to go with the freshly grilled meats. Nothing was too much trouble, you just had to ask and they would do it. We had a fantastic waiter "Juan Manual" He was just adorable and assisted us with our very poor spanish. but he had the patience of a saint and just kept on learning us new words.
ANIMATION TEAM - One word - Magnifico ! - They made our whole holiday. The Mini Club as I previously said was run by Vita. She is fantastic and we all just adored her. Vita was always trying to get other kids to join in activities and the Mini Disco ( this was on 6 days a week at 8:30) Kamal was also fab, and as my older girls pointed out " A six pack to die for !! " Have to say I agreed, however my partner perhaps not ! We enquired about going on the horse riding excursion which is only 5 minutes from the hotel. But because of the ages of our girls, 12, 11 and 4, it meant that 4 of us would have gone on horses one way and our 4 year old would have gone off on a Pony in another group. We asked if there was anyway that we could go altogether, so Vita arranged for us to go on an individual excursion which she accompanied us on and we had a great afternoon out with Vita and our whole family. So nothing was ever too much trouble. We also went on the Pirates ship with Kamal, and two others from the Animation team who mainly worked at the other Illot hotel close by. We walked down to the Marina for the boat and the trip was about 3.5 hours long. It works out approx 50 euro for the 5 of us to go, thats with all your drinks and foods included. It was brilliant. However on the way back into the Marina our 4 year old fell asleep and Kamal gave all of us a lift back in his car to save us carrying her. We appreciated this so much. Berry was also part of the team and he arranged activities for the older kids and us adults. Games in the pool and out of the pool for cocktails ! They have various activities going on throughout the day, Archery, Volley ball, darts etc etc In the evening Vita and Berry do the Mini Disco on alternate nights and the kids think they are fab. After this from 9:30 they have various things going on from Cabaret, "Mr Illot", Miss Illot competitions, Sketch Shows and themed nights. The Animation team are involved in almost all of them and work so so hard. they have to do so many things to do they are just so multi tallented. We would like to say a very very special thank you to our Vita, she was just the best and out girls all cried when we left the hotel on Friday night. We are so going to miss her and Kamal and the Animation team.
Good sized rooms, one bedroom and our girls slept on the sofa beds in the lounge. Clean rooms, but to be fair we only slept in them so we were very rarely in them.
We rang home to England a few times and the calls ranged from 2.5 euro to about 4 euro. The calls weren't particularly long but long enough to have a conversation for a good few minutes. We thought the costs were very reasonable. Definately value for money we were very happy with our holiday. Travelled in high season so I have to to say having read some of the reviews we were worried about how we would find the holiday. But we all just had the best time. One downside is the idstance from the airport, but this can't be helped, we would do it again to get the service we got for our two weeks.

Just returned from Illot Suite and Spa Cala Ratjada where my young family (ages 4 +2) stayed for the last 2 weeks. I do recommend this hotel due to its location near some of the most fabulous beaches you could wish for. However, if you are also travelling with young children please be advised that the junior suites on offer do not provide a bath but only a shower which can make bathing time a bit hectic. The suite itself is ok, nothing too grand, the kids slept on pull out armchairs in the living space which joins the small cooking and cleaning area (No Tea Making Facilities in room - Being English, We Like A Brew!!). The bedroom did entertain a wardrobe however doors were a little loose putting it nicely and also 2 twin beds pushed together to make a double. We were Half Board at the hotel and the food on offer during breakfast and dinner was more than adequate and suited the tastes of my family. I must also mention the hospitality from the staff in the restaurant, the American chef, Jarvis, more than accomodating if you have a special request that your food be cooked in a different way and the restaurant manager Miguel Angel always a smile on his face and multi-lingual which helps loads. Should you wish to spend some time relaxing in the spa facility, it does the job its supposed to and children may make use of the pool area inside too. Should you want to spend a day around the small outside pool area be sure to get your towel down on the loungers the night before, the hotel is more German orientated and without wanting to pen the cliche, take my advice. One last remark is that on the hotel website it does advertise Satellite TV, which is correct, but there's only so much you can watch of BBC Worldnews which is the only channel on offer to English guests. If you also choose to make this hotel your base, i do recommend the hire of a vehicle and check out Alcudia in the north some lovely beaches there, Puerto Pollensa in the north west and always worth a meal at Hard Rock Cafe in Palma where its worth a day out visiting the cathederal. Hope my comments have helped make your decision.

A lovely hotel with staff that made it even better. Staff want to talk to you and get to know you which makes you feel really welcome. Ramon and Ieva the animation team had such fun with the children, Ramon fell in love with our baby who is 7 months old. Our 2 older girls 10 & 8yrs loved doing the club dance around the pool. Towels on sunbeds was not an issue which was a pleasant surprise. Pool isn't huge, but not an issue as many German people went out most days. Food was excellent. Very close to shops to pop out and buy souvenirs. Would be nice to have bottled water provided in the room. Air con in rooms not great and is on a timer, works from 12pm to 6pm I think, so nights in full season could get very hot if they don't change the timer. There are turtles in a pool at reception which were great fun to look at. Good evening entertainment, had disco, flamenco dancers, karaoke, belly dancers. Made some great new friends, English & German. Would recommend the hotel and would go back ourselves.

The Hotel management need to be very proud of the staff they have at the illot suites, its their whole attitute and customer service that makes this hotel work.
The restaurant manager and our waitress (asta) were very patient with our 1 year old, and we never waited for anything, the food was buffet style with choices to suit all the family (not amazing) but fresh and there was choice which we all (5 of us) sampled, the chefs were great with the kids and all was very clean. The bar staff were fantastic, from 10.30am serving our coffee till late serving our wine, a great sense of humour and again as the restaurant, we never waited for anything and the glasses/crockery were always clean (a pet hate of mine) not once throughout our 2 week stay did we have to make a complaint. The bedroom was spacious, clean and with a balcony (with a convenient hanger for beach towels) we spent every evening having a pleasant drink once the 3 kiddies asleep. housekeeping good clean towels every day, beds made, mopped and cleaned.
In general the hotel could do with some updating, the hallways are dark, and the boards are loose around the pool, but did this affect our holiday.. no - this hotel was fantastic value for money, we could never get the same for the money in England.
Finally the Animation team, what can I say -they were amazing, Vita was just fantastic (who we all fell in love with), she was full of energy and is a special young lady who has all the children feeling happy and safe and at the same time leaving parents relaxed, the whole team were great and make so much effort to include everyone, and work so hard always with a smile, regardless of the pressure.
The hotel is small enough to feel that you get to know the staff and they remember you, your kids and what you like.
So if you have children and want a relaxed holiday without hoards of English, but enough to be sociable- no holiday reps and very happy children (beware mine cried all the way to the airport when we left) then this could be good for you, request a quiet room, as we did and although may be smaller it was tranquil, one side of the hotel backs on to the busy streets and this was much nosier, which other guests commented on. Location of hotel fantastic you can walk to everything if needed, kids loved pony riding, pirate ship. a great holiday my children are begging us to book again.

Good morning, the entertainment starts at 11am usually with pool activities, darts, archery etc. When we were there the two guys were non stop, they just loved their jobs. There is nightly entertainment as well, all family orientated, we loved this hotel. The food is fresh and varied and the staff were extremely helpful. There are always those who want to complain but I personally loved it.
