This hotel is in desperate need of a tidy up, its tired and dated, paint pealing off walls, the indoor pool has been closed for many many months, the spa - which is why i booked this hotel again hasnt been open for many many months, only one lift working and the lift had shattered glass Sellotape up over it, out balcony was the same. absolutely let down,
We visited with family after being let down by an Airbnb booking 9 days prior to our holiday. Despite the late notice we managed to fit all 19 family members (varying in age between toddler and retired) for a weeks half board. Expecting the least from a last minute booking we were more than pleasantly surprised. Greeted at 2am with snacks and cold drinks after a long transfer and a quick check in considering the party size. The staff were all very friendly and helpful - (sidenote...Jesus at the hotel bar makes wonderful sangria). The hotel was clean and well kept, shower rooms available downstairs after checkout to use beside departure which were great. My only (very small) negative of the whole week was not having water provided with the evening meal. We booked half board and had thought a drink would be included. As it wasn't, you were obliged to purchase drinks from hotel and were not allowed to bring any of your own drinks with you. This would have been absolutely fair enough had some water been provided - maybe a suggestion for future improvement? We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return! …
First of all, the aircon throughout the hotel is not working, ground floor, restaurant, pretty much like a sauna in 34 degree heat. Selection of food is average, still you could fill your stomach with something. Room: main disappointment is the aircon in the room which has not been cleaned in ages. Your clearly see it is full of dust fluff, poorly working and noisy. The plastic base from the shower is damaged. Beds and pillows are very poor quality, but very poor quality. Definitely not deserving 4 stars. Wouldn’t give even 2.
The Good: The staff are mostly great, especially the activities coordinator (I think his name is Jordi) - such a nice guy who goes out of his way to make sure everyone is enjoying their stay. He had a chat to us on his day off in the bar and he's so easy going and pleasant. The food was also really nice; not a massive choice compared to other all inclusive hotels I've stayed at but quality and taste was excellent. Parking was easy in the street outside or in a free public car park literally a one minute walk away. The Bad: It should just be called Illot Suites as the Spa is closed and based on what I both heard and saw will not be reopening any time soon. The staff have been told to blame Covid but it's clearly because it needs work. The hotel is really nice in parts but is showing its age in other areas. There is an abandoned tennis court with no net out the back; the squash courts have been converted to a children's play room and the outdoor area next to the pool has more weeds than grass. The all inclusive drink menu is limited with little choice of cocktails and only a handful of spirits (none of them branded - all Lidl own brand) with no supplement option. Location: If you haven't been to Capdepara or the surrounding area before, it's worth noting it's quite a journey to most other parts of the island. If you like exploring, the location probably isn't for you. If hiring a car, be it's roughly 1h15 to Palma, 1h30 to Soller and surprisingly over an hour to Alcudia. However if you're happy to stay in the town, it's well served with loads of restaurants and a few nice beaches. Overall: I actually enjoyed my stay here despite the above "bad" comments. I do think they should be clearer / more honest about the Spa, especially on third party booking sites. However for the price we paid, I felt I got reasonable value for money and have stayed in far worse hotels that have cost more. If the owners tidy up some of the more tired areas of the building and sort the spa out it would be a great hotel to stay at.…
We only picked this hotel because of the heated swimming pool only to be told it was not working. The all inclusive deal does not include alcohol. There is no kettle tea or iron in the rooms. The kids playroom is boring. The lifts stink. This is not a 4 star. There is no mini disco for kids. The pictures look too good on the website in reality it's too old here. The staffs however are kind and helpful.
We were staying at Hotel Illiot for 9 nights in 2019. Me, my husband and our kids, 5 and 7 years old. It is a great hotel for families with small but nice swimming pools. Inside the hotel there is another swimming pool and sauna. Room was like in typical 3 star hotel, with fridge and flat TV and a small balcony with table and chairs. There was a squash, tennis and gym place. For kids there was a mini club inside and disco/activities every evening. All staff was very nice but we need to say special thank You to one member of staff Kamal, he really makes a difference for that hotel, he was like a diamond. Really special guy, running all activities with smile always and great attitude. Food was great as well, we can't complain, great choice, fresh and tasty. Excellent activities every afternoon and evening, bingo, quizes, mini disco, reptile show, cyrcus show, mini games with prizes, air rifle shooting...I can recommend that place to all families.…
this hotel is in need of major redecoration. Reception area looks lovely and clean but everything else inside of the hotel not so much. Our rooms was so tired that the toilet seat felt off due to rust. You have to pay a deposit of 20euro (which is eventually reimbursable) for the use of pool towels and 2euros non reimbursable if you want fresh ones.. Not many drinks options for the all inclusive customers. They only had 1 choice of non-alcoholic cocktails which was ridiculous and you had to pay for a non alcoholic beer. No shows at the hotel in the evening. I wouldn't take a family there, there nothing for kids. the beds are so uncomfortable.
We had 6 days at this hotel recently. The reception area was light and airy which gave a good impression. Unfortunately after that things changed. I felt the hotel was very dark along corridors and rooms. There was no welcome pack in the room which would have been a good addition as it was extremely hard to find any information. Lack of signage in the hotel too. The children’s play area was locked during our stay and we only saw one activity during the day which lasted half an hour, if that. I think there may have been lots of bored children. Major investment is needed to bring the hotel up to scratch, painting in rooms, corridors, indoor pool area and general areas of a very poor standard. Windows needed cleaning particularly in the dining area, window blinds of poor quality and dark. Food was good as I like salads and meats. Nice to have freshly cooked meat, fish and egg dishes. But was very repetitive. Theme nights would be a good initiative ie Spanish, Italian, Mexican etc Is it really necessary to have chips every breakfast, dinner and tea time ( lukewarm ones too) Sun beds needed cleaning. Tv terrible only one English Channel. I did not expect to have to serve myself drinks etc. That could have been explained in a welcome pack. Lots of places of interest advertised by brochures in a stand but no where did it say these trips could be booked through hotel reception, could you make some money doing this? It could be a good 4* hotel if everything is as advertised, worked and is available Plus investment in lots of areas, rooms etc Staff were nice…
Very tired hotel in need of redecorating. Hotel reception gives false impression. Hardly any signage so you have to ask for everything. No welcome book , information is available on line but most of that is in Spanish. Lots of water wasted by vast bathroom sinks having no plugs! Advertised as a “Spa” but only one member of staff ! No signage to show you where gym/treatment rooms are. Indoor “Spa” pool is unsupervised , no staff or lifeguard. Poolside in need of a deep clean, ingrained mud around sides! Food good but somewhat repetitive. Soft drink machines use local water so prepare for strong aftertaste. Unique all inclusive policy employed, prepare to serve yourself all day except for “spirits”. Has all the infrastructure of a four star hotel but needs new bedroom fixtures and fittings. Saving grace is it is cheap and good value for money if you are not too fussy.…
Nice room, with balcony overlooking the pool and down to the marina. Cala Ratjada is mainly a German resort, as is the hotel. Several English at the hotel, but focus on German guests. TV mainly German channels, with a few American. Could find no English channels despite a brochure saying they were available. Food good, especially the salads, but very much the same throughout the week. Could do with a tapas night.
