I stayed at the La Santa Maria in July and had a lovely holiday. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were very helpful. The location is great and the pool area is clean and well organised. I will definitely be returning.

Arrived early morning with my 2 kids to be greeted by a lovely member of staff. Checked us in quickly, issued our room key and let us know when breakfast was available in the morning (8-10am). Room a good size, very clean and we discovered they had left us a welcome pack per person each containing 2 rounds of sandwiches, 3 pieces of fruit, crackers, cheese, butter, jam and water... Superb! Sandwiches were fresh and still felt cool so hadn't been sitting out long. Aircon in room v good, balcony a good size. Our room overlooked the main street. Bars, shops, restaurants plentiful. Some noise up until 1130pm/midnight on some nights. Children's play area on corner of main road busy too but settles down. Karting place nearby and could hear it during day but it wasn't busy so didn't ruin the pool area and no fumes. Room kept v clean, beds made everyday, changed a few times during our stay. Toiletries topped up and towels changed. Floors must have been mopped daily as there was never any grit or sand on the floor. Under beds spotless. Balcony cleaned regularly too, no finger marks on doors and glass so spotless. Food was of good quality during our 8 night stay. Hot and cold choices breakfast and dinner.... Pasta, fish, meats, varying potato choices, pizza, roasts etc. Plenty of salad and fruit too. Bar at pool sells lunchtime snacks like toasties, burgers etc. Parking available across the street in two main avenues so no problem. A fantastic hotel, really great value. Right in the heart of things, lots to do and see in area and the pedestrian area is literally at the door. No hesitation in returning.

We - grandparents and our five-year-old grandson - spent three weeks in the hotel. As a family hotel it was very good. Everything was within easy reach - all town attractions and the beach. The swimming pool was well maintained and life-guard supervised. The hotel offered animation (games, mini-disco etc) for children. We could see that boys and girls alike adored one of the animators - Vicki from Poland - in particular. All things considered, our grandson loved his stay there. However, we, the grandparents, would not go there on an adults-only holiday.

We visited this hotel at the beginning of September and were very impressed. Positives: - Rooms are very clean and modern and the air conditioner works extremely well. Cleaning staff do a fantastic job. Our room overlooked a go-kart track which was a little loud on an evening but didn't disturb us (or our young son) as the sound insulation is pretty good from the outside. - Pool staff were great - very friendly and helpful. In the main, so were the rest of the personnel. This is a family friendly hotel, but also with many older guests and the balance actually works really well. Staff were lovely towards our little son and always made time to say hello to him, which I thought was excellent. - It was pretty easy to find a bed by the pool, which doesn't open until 10am. Pool area was mainly quiet and relaxed. - Location couldn't be better. Walk out of the hotel and you're right on the main street with bars, restaurants and some very nice shops. The beach is a short, pleasant walk away and is lovely. - We took the half board option and the food is pretty good. Good selection and probably something for everyone. Negatives: - we did find the restaurant had a bit of a canteen feel to it. The restaurant caters for guests also from the sister hotel and it huge and often very loud. - on one occasion the night porter locked the entrance to attend to something with the pool (why this required his attention at 12:30am still remains a mystery to me . . . ) and couldn't comprehend why I was nonplussed at being stuck outside for 15 minutes and then proceeded to claim that he understood neither English nor German which I found rather difficult to believe. The rest: - the hotel is populated by guests from all over Europe, however, most of the staff have a good command of English and the evening entertainment is often presented in three different languages. If you're looking for a predominantly British holiday, this hotel and resort is probably not for you. We enjoyed the mix of nationalities. - when we visited, we had a few days of autumnal weather and it would've been great if the outdoor pool (particularly the kids area) had been heated, but I realise that this wouldn't usually be necessary. Thanks for a lovely stay. We hope to return soon.
