The Talayot Hotel garners appreciation for its clean and modern rooms, with a backdrop of professional and friendly staff members who enhance the guest experience. While the hotel's location earns accolades for its convenient proximity to beaches and shops, some travelers voice concerns over the extra costs associated with the all-inclusive package and the limited lively entertainment options. Despite the satisfactory amenities and high standards of cleanliness, the occasional oversight in housekeeping and service inconsistencies are noted by guests seeking a more vibrant atmosphere and comprehensive value.

The hotel has a very calm and relaxing atmosphere, it's clean and fairly modern. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food in the buffet is quite nice and varied, although for breakfast the selection was always the same. Not sure about dinner as we only went once.

The front pool is very small, the "infinity" aspect of it is literally a meter wide. Always busy, queues even before it opens. The other, back pool is alright, but they're both just boring. Music plays really quietly, there are no activities, just people lounging. If that's you're thing, you'll enjoy it but I thought it was a bit drab.

The spa is a bit expensive, there didn't seem to be many discounts for guests. Drinks throughout the hotel were also quite pricey - comparable to prices in bars and restaurants nearby.

The room we stayed in was the biggest annoyance. It was clean and modern, but the shower and toilet were just behind glass doors which meant all the noises were very clearly heard in the rest of the room. Not much privacy to be had.

Don't be fooled by the refrigerator in the room, it only keeps stuff level temperature, i.e. doesn't really chill anything. Upon asking the reception, apparently that's what it's mean to do. The kettle also only worked if you kept your finger on the on button.

There was no complimentary water waiting for us in the room when we arrived at 4am from the airport which would have been a nice touch.

Using the safe in the room costs extra as well, which I thought was odd for a 4-star hotel.

Overall, a lovely hotel but a bit too quiet and lacking that bit of flair we were hoping for.

My partner and I stayed here for a week and we had an amazing time! The staff are very friendly and professional and always happy to help for recommendations. We opted for bed and breakfast and were blown away with the options available at breakfast - full English options, cereal, pastries, fruit etc. We had lunch a couple of times when staying by the pool and this was okay but limited options so something to think about if considering half board/all inclusive.

The room was fantastic and very clean. The shower was very powerful and the aricon was good. The hotel is a 2 minute walk away from the beach and main strip of restaurants. The beach is lovely with clear water and white sand (can hire 2 sunbeds for 14 euros for the day). Lots of eating options on the strip - our favourites were Cafe Mint and Stanleys which had a lovely view of the sea and a delicious passion fruit daiquiri!

Overall we would definitley recommend staying here and Cala Millor to anyone looking for a relaxed holiday.

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely member of staff who was quick to upgrade us to a premier suite, which was a great start to the holiday. The room was big, spacious and had everything you could possibly need. The towels were changed daily and we were given new beach towels each day. The balcony was also huge.

There are 2 pool areas, the top pool has nicer sun loungers which are available to everyone but each morning it’s sunbed wars to get one so if you’re adamant to have one you need to commit to queueing for them at least half an hour before the doors open. On the first day we had a pool day and I was a little disappointed to notice the pool was a bit dirty. There was clumps of hair, a plaster and dirt floating around in the pool, which was a bit off putting for the remainder of the holiday.

Food wise - we were half board but most people stay bed and breakfast, and therefore there was very limited choice at dinner time. So if you are a picky eater and not very adventurous I would go with bed and breakfast and eat out locally as there’s restaurants all over the place.

I personally found Cala Millor quite remote compared to the other resorts. We hired a car from Vanrell which was the best idea and what really made the holiday as we were able to really explore the island and visit the hidden gems. The hotel has a small parking area, and side street parking. I would highly recommend doing this if you like to get the most out of your holiday.

On our final day we used the spa in the hotel! Probably one of the best spas I have visited within a hotel. If you’re going to stay at this hotel you MUST use the spa! Incredible!

All in all a great holiday! Would definitely recommend!

Reception staff at this hotel have no customer service experience. The receptionist when we arrived said he would provide us with an upgrade after giving us a room in a poor location. After spending the first night at the hotel, the air conditioning failed. Again, after asking a replacement room, the new receptionist (Louis) was rude and said the only option was to pay 70 euros extra per night to change. The room was loud in the morning being so close to the restaurant and bar area. The cleaner would often leave their trolley outside our room. See picture attached.

I have just returned from a week stay with my partner, and I can honestly say this hotel is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. I genuinely don’t understand what all the bad reviews are about.
The staff are absolutely fantastic, very accommodating, good banter and go out their way to make sure you have everything you need. Big shout out to Gabrielle and the other 2 gentlemen who worked on the front bar all day/night, they certainly kept us entertained.
The front infinity pool is gorgeous, yes a bit shallow and not great for swimming but it’s great to have a dip to cool down and have a drink watching the world go by. The sun loungers by the infinity pool are also fabulous, you do have to queue in the morning before the doors open at 9:30 but if you go early enough you will always get a bed.
The back pool is shallow but again fine for a dip.
The food was your typical all inclusive style food but well presented and very tasty, they have bar snacks available to choose from all day for a small charge - highly recommend the nachos!!
I would recommend not paying for an upgrade from double room with balcony to sea view as it’s exactly the same room but just a change of scenery. The rooms were cleaned every single day, absolutely spotless and very spacious, the beds were comfortable and the walk in shower is big enough for 2 people no problem.

In all, we had a fantastic stay and even met 2 other lovely couples who we are returning to this hotel again in November 🙂😃

Good bits -
Great location and really handy for lots of good bars and shops. Hotel had been recently renovated and right next to the beach.
The room was fresh and modern. The beds were huge and superbly comfortable. The rainfall shower was exquisite and the housekeeping was done daily.
Excellent location and the front sunbathing terrace had a fabulous vista and a plunge pool was a nice addition.
The rear pool was never overcrowded and had a large cold jacuzzi pool which was welcome in the mid day heat.
Breakfast had a superb buffet choice (with eggs cooked to order) and the staff were always friendly and willing to help.
The spa had great facilities and was also modern and fresh with a number of treatments available.

Bad bits -
The safe in the room was an extra 5 euros per day to use (very odd). Limited tea and coffee in the room which weren’t replenished each day (we had to ask) and only one very small loo roll which again wasn’t replaced until asked for. The fridge in the room didn’t seem to work nor the air con properly.
The sunbathing terrace had limited number of beds and had a queue each morning so no chance to use it and soak up the fabulous view for a day.
Whilst using the normal pool area, there was building work going on behind the hotel so got quite noisy.
Using the spa was an additional 25 euro per couple and treatments were another expense on top again. I feel the spa pools should be free to residents to use but the treatments we had were definitely good value for money!

Overall - the hotel tries hard to be a quality boutique type hotel and with a few tweaks e.g. get the basics fixed and remove the extra costs (or include them in the costing for the holiday). We wanted a quiet relaxing chilled week away in a nice resort and we got that, but not sure we’ll be rushing back for our next break away.

The hotel has recently been refurbished and the overall look is lovely. It wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste as the bathrooms are reasonably open plan but we found even with this there was enough bathroom privacy. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was also a small fridge which was fab for storing drinks and water etc to keep things chilled.

The balcony was also lovely and had a handy airer for our wet towels and swimming things.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the breakfast offering is fantastic!! Lots to of choice and all delicious.

However there were a few negatives. I think instructions on how to use the aircon would be handy as ours was set onto heating mode when we arrived and it took us ages to figure out how to change it to cooling mode (but this could just be us!) I’m sure if we had told reception we were struggling they would have come to help us as whenever I asked them anything they were always helpful and polite.

My main issue was that of reserving sunloungers - by 8am lots of sunloungers at the main pool were already reserved, and the main reason for this was a lack of parasols. I’d usually expect a hotel to have 1 between two loungers but they only had about 8 for the entire lower pool area. May not seem a big deal but when it’s full midday Sun and you want a bit of shade it’s really annoying.

The pool is also extremely shallow so it’s great if you want a quick dip to cool off but if you do want to do some proper swimming it’s a bit tricky. The pool itself is lovely and gets heated to a nice temperature during the day by the sun.

You also have to pay extra for the safe in the room and personally think the charge is a little steep. I’d expect at a 4* hotel the safe would be included.

The upstairs pool area is lovely but there was usually a queue to reserve a bed in the morning so we never went in the morning. We managed to get in int he afternoon when the sun has gone to the back of the hotel. Extremely comfortable sunloungers!

We had a couple of housekeeping issues as well that I know have been mentioned on reviews here before with tea and coffee not being replaced , and loo roll not being changed.

I can’t comment on the spa facilities as we didn’t use them. Guests do get a discount as the spa but the discount apparently varies my treatment so you need to ask the spa directly about prices for hotel guests.

Overall we had a pleasant stay but I probably wouldn’t be back.

Stayed for 9 nights here, our experience was okay, wouldn’t say it was great for 4 stars. It’s a lovely hotel to look mind!
Bar staff are very friendly!
Room was quite nice we had a view over the pool out and view out to the back of the hotel, not sure what the cleaner did to be honest, our beds were made and that seemed to be about it, wouldn’t get fresh towels and the shower never seemed to get cleaned.
The doors are SO LOUD that it would drive us insane, all night constantly you would hear the loudest noise of doors banging close until early hours of the morning. Our fridge didn’t work, being 35 degrees in Cala millor, you would look forward to a cold drink when you got to your room, but no. We kept our drinks in the fridge for the whole 9 days and they didn’t even get slightly cold, they were warm!
The tv was awful, chose when it wanted to work. We could only watch it on our first night, kept turning on in the middle of the night which was so frustrating! THE LIFTS, oh my god, every single person we spoke to made a comment to us about how bad the lifts are, good job we were never in a rush!! Don’t know what they actually do but we would genuinely have to wait for about 5 minutes after pressing the button, we were on the 6th floor and seemed that the floors below is always had priority, you could hear the lifts moving up and down but would never seem to actually get to you.

The pool to the back of the hotel is okay, not many parasols (which everyone needs)!
Bar didn’t open until the afternoon and “jacuzzi” was never on so was just a smaller pool next to the bigger one, you could go down and put towels down early in the morning which was good!
The front sea view luxury pool, you weren’t aloud to even put towels down until the bar staff opened it, people would be queuing for 40 minutes to get a sunbed overlooking the sea. There was only about 24 sunbeds and everyone obviously wanted to spend the day at the more luxury pool.
We went B&B and food was okay, if you weren’t down pretty much straight away your food would be cold and not enjoyable, there was the exact same food every morning, never changed which gets a bit repetitive. Glasses and cutlery were ALWAYS dirty it was disgusting, I would feel so uncomfortable eating and drinking from them.
Would definitely not give here 4 stars

Had a lovely weeks stay in this hotel. We had a side view room which was fine, modern clean and spacious. After reading previous reviews we were already aware of the sun bed situation on the second floor. I personally didn’t have a problem with staying at the pool round the back but felt it lacked some personality and was abit forgotten about unlike the the second floor infinity pool which had music and more of a 4 star vibe. Check in didn’t take long. Bedroom tax is charged on arrival and the cost of a safe is around €4 a day. Location is brilliant for being in between cala millor and cala bona. Either side had a good amount of bars and restaurants. We didn’t get chance to use the spa facilities due to the weather being abit iffy on our first full day and we were only there for a week we wanted to make the most of relaxing and sunbathing when the sun was out. Breakfast was really nice good amount of choice for us.
Highly recommend restaurante son floriana which is about a ten minute walk inland and sa punta which is a good walk just past cala bona harbour on the corner both pricey but the food was sooooooo nice! We also found a little Italian called la locanda which was very nice and authentic!
Overall we would definitely stay here again.
Tip- watch out for the cycle lane along the main front!

Just returned fom 9 nights at this lovely modern hotel. Rooms very up to date and fresh, ours overlooked the infinity pool with great sea views, which were very much in demand. The hotel is right on the sea front and promenade, great for a walk in either direction. It is popular with Spanish, French, German, Irish and Brits.
Very quiet all day and at night. Beds very comforatble and rooms clean, as were the lobby and pool areas. Not much entertainment, but that was OK for us. There are so many great places for food on the doorstep too. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and everything fresh.
We liked it a lot and will definitely be back.
