First visited this hotel in Sept 2018 and LOVED it, so much so we booked for the following Sept. In 2018 we found staff were excellent in caring for the guests, the food was fabulous, hotel clean not a huge impersonal hotel which suited us. Location spot on. 2019, arrived to be greeted like old friends, everything was just as good Then tragedy struck and one of our party collapsed and died by the poolside. Then we discovered the staff who we thought we're totally fantastic became exceptional an understated use of a word. Every member of staff , from the manager who with the lifeguard fought diligently, professionally and with obvious expertise trying to save Karen, to the gardening staff moving pool furniture. Every member of staff expressed their condolences quietly and with deference. I hope this review translates our immense thanks and in summing up if you want a fantastic holiday in a place with people who genuinely do care this is the hotel for you 💖💖

Here in middle of October and was impressed as soon as I set foot in the hotel.. First impressions was how clean the hotel was and was greeted by friendly reception staff, we didn't check-in until after 11pm but staff had laid on a small selection of cooked meats, cheeses and bread in the dining room which was nice touch. Once in our room it was clear that the cleaning standard continued throughout the hotel and we had a fab view over the pool and could see the beach , the decor was a little tired in places but was due for some renovations while the hotel was closed and it also had a small fridge for cold drinks and talking of cold is one word you couldn't describe the air conditioning it was awful! Seemed to work better during the day but at night when it's most needed it switched roughly 2 am each morning resulting in a very stuffy room. We opened the patio door which helped but was greeted by loud music from the only late opening bar in the area in October which would close at 4am but this is the only complaint we had in our 10 days there. We were in room 416 like another reviewer and the rest of our party were in rooms next to ours, maybe this is where they put the Brits as it is mainly catered for the German tourist and to be fair was probably a good thing if you want a quiet and relaxed time as there was no rowdy drunks or late night party goers during our time there. The food was absolutely fantastic no matter when you dined, breakfast you had so much choice cereals, breads, cooked meats, cheeses and hot cooked food and so much more. Lunch and dinner where equally impressive with a wonderful selection of fresh salads, pasta, hot freshly cooked meals, meats and fish cooked there and then. There was genuinely something for everyone to enjoy, even had chicken nuggets most nights for our fussy eater which she loved. Make sure you go to the gala evening on Thursday night as it was truly excellent where you will be treated to glasses of fizz and be able to have steaks, smoked salmon, cooked salmon and other fine cooking. The pool area is quite compact but again was always clean and tidy and we never had a problem getting sun loungers but I could imagine this might be an issue in the height of the season and be aware that you need to pay a deposit of €15 for pool towel hire. Location is good as you are only 5-10 mins walk from the beach and just around the corner from the main street where you'll find the usual gift shops, boutiques, small supermarkets(mainly spar and every 500 yards), restaurants and bars again mainly catering for the German Market but there's a nice walk into cala bona with nice bars and restaurants to enjoy. Lastly but most importantly to mention the staff which are fantastic! Very friendly and polite and hard working and are a credit to the hotel and the hipotels brand and I look forward to returning or trying another hipotel in the future. P. S. We booked half board but it came clear that all inclusive was the best value so we upgraded to all inclusive for only an extra €18 per person per day.. Well worth it.!!

The hotel is very clean. The staff are Fantastic, friendly nothing too much trouble. Even lent us an adaptor for a couple of days before we could get one. As for the food. ABSOLUTELY amazing. So many choices. Planning to go again next year... Couldnt fault it. We just got back as Thomas Cook crashed. Really hope that doesn't disrupt the tourism which is so vital to so many countries.

Myself, husband & adult son stayed here 10-17th Sept. Room 416 on the 4th floor overlooking the pool, the sea & beach just in view a block or 2 away. Around 6 mins walk to the beach. We booked a bit later than usual & were told by our travel agent that going half board would be cheaper than bed & breakfast which we usually do. What great advice! I read other reviews and confirm there were around 95% Germans & a sprinkle of others. A group of Polish arrived 2 days before we left. The buffet breakfast & dinner truly amazing. Really 5 star without exaggerating. So fresh & could be cooked in front of you. Ranges from choices of salads, fresh or cooked fish, meat, chicken, mouth watering desserts as well as cuisine to cater for others. Hot mains, cold mains. Different cheeses & meats even at breakfast. Eggs done how you want them, pancakes, pastries & choices of bread. A lovely idea only at breakfast is they have fresh coffee in vacuum jugs so bring it to your table to save queuing up for the machine. Only drinks at breakfast is free. Don't understand how some go 'all inclusive' as so much choice I wouldn't be able to eat so often? Many were on this. There was also a Gala Evening where they provide sparkling drinks & tasty nibbles/tapas, to meet the staff. It would have been nice to have also had a special dinner theme to go with it? The following night there was a choice of paella. Perhaps combine with gala theme next time? The entertainment at night was quite enjoyable & varied 5 nights, but we avoided the 2 bingo nights. Our room was spacious for a double & single bed, it had a small fridge & there are plenty of small supermarkets even across the road where you can buy your drinks & water to store in it. The cons which I did discuss with Fernando the manager are: 1. Lack of UK tv channels, only BBC World, CNN & Sky. Gets a bit tedious watching politics, Boris, Brexit & weather forecasts the whole time with nothing else. For a hotel like this I would expect more freeview channels & ITV at least as have been found in other hotels. 2. There is no internet for guests as they assume everyone has a Smartphone. I don't but they would be happy to help if you need to print off boarding cards etc. 3. I would like to see FREE drinking water fountains located around the lobby area especially as I believe even all inclusive have to pay for water? Again this I've found at other hotels. A nice gesture for your guests. 4. The room safe should be free for guests. Have found this free in other hotels. 5. You can't charge any drinks to your room & pay on departure unless you open an account first giving your credit card. This we declined so bought elsewhere or paid cash, although we had to pay upfront on card for the local taxes...! The staff were all very helpful & polite. In fact the head waiter looked like he could be a twin brother to Theo Paphitis on 'Dragons Den'. The head chef clearly enjoying his work. The rooms cleaned daily, towels changed if you leave them on the floor, however the bar of soap seems to dissolve as soon as you've used it once. We went with Jet2 and although we were ok, they don't turn up at the hotel unless you contact them. The hotel backs onto a main road although not noisy, there is a bus stop outside so you can visit Sa Coma or other nearby locations if the weather is bad. It is an open top normal bus & the little local train stops nearby to take you to Sa Coma too. Plenty of sunbeds, well spread out near the pool, would be good for children. Fortunately for us mainly babies or very small children rather than busy families. Weather more cloud than sun. Not many local restaurants nearby although there is a long shopping street which stretches into Cala Bona & has shops, bars, & fast food type eateries if you are into pizza & chips type food. We would stay here again if we returned to Cala Millor with hopefully some improvements to my comments. Thanks Fernando & your staff.
