Could have been great experience. A/C did not work well, always too hot, shower could not adjust, gasket was off and stayed at lowest setting, toilet constantly flowed, fridge made noises. Reception was told and no one came or nothing was done. Internet was totally useless. Would not stay again. Shame could be so nice. Room 533.

Just returned ftom this holiday. If you are thinking of going here don't pay for the all inclusive package. The food is terrible so repetitive and not hot, children cannot get ice cream except in restaurant otherwise you have to pay for it, we spent most of our money eating out as the food was so bad. Not all bad though the kids entertainers were great our grandchildren loved it, they went to kids club in daytime and at night loved the kids disco. Also towels are only changed on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday which we were not told about. The maids are not the best. Also if you have mobility problems make sure you ask for ground floor rooms and also level access shower otherwise you will have to climb stairs to get to your room and you will have an overbath shower.

I'm writing this review as a late twenties, solo female traveler. First thing's first: I am not German or Spanish. English is my native language, so I was shocked to discover that this hotel is basically a German-speaking people's retreat as nobody could speak English fluently and all information, entertainment, etc. is in German. This made it problematic from the get-go as when I arrived for check-in, the Manager made it very difficult for me as I did not have my AllTours confirmation PRINTED out; having it on my phone was apparently not enough. Nowhere did it say in my confirmation emails that it was required to have it printed. So, I had to stand there at the desk, at 10:00 at night, and try to email the confirmation to him. The server wasn't working, so finally he gave up and checked me in. I got put into a first-floor room, right above the outdoor bar/lounge area. I was exhausted from the trip, and hungry (the only food they had left in the dining hall at this hour was cheese, cold cuts, stale bread, and some watermelon). It was noisy until after midnight and I could also hear the people in the rooms surrounding mine. The next morning, I went to the desk and asked the manager, politely, if I could please change my room as I was unable to get adequate rest from all the noise. He was incredibly rude and impatient, reminding me that he still did not have my printed confirmation, and then told me I can't go any higher than the 2nd floor. He told me I could go check two available rooms for myself since when I asked questions about what was available, he got annoyed. Changing rooms costs 20 Euro here, regardless of the circumstance. I find this to be incredibly money-centered rather than hospitality-centered and was put off by this, but nevertheless, I changed my room to a quieter option. This manager made me feel unwelcome and as if I were a burden. I've never been met with such a lack of hospitality at a resort before. I additionally had the misfortune of having a very strange and noisy upstairs neighbor who would walk around her room with her heels or loud shoes on at 3:00 in the morning for more than an hour. I tried to call the front desk about it but I was met with an angry "What?" on the other end. Again, no English here. The food: It is varying but overall very, very salty. Not the most vegetarian-friendly cuisine either. Coffee from the proper espresso machine at the pool bar is not for free, which I found to be a joke. The coffee they serve for free from an automatic machine tasted horrible and was undrinkable. This was my first time to Mallorca, and I had no idea I was signing up for such a specifically German experience. I have nothing against them, don't get me wrong, but I would think places like this would be open to international guests, so I was surprised to find it to be the total opposite. To put icing on the cake: the weather was terrible. It was sunny for one day of the 5 I stayed, and the rest was cloudy, extremely windy and cold. I would not recommend this hotel.

Fully confirm MvdL 1952's review. We had a Junior Suite on the 6th floor with good side view to the sea. The Junior Suite is bigger than the regular rooms, so inviting to stay at the room even on bad weather days without claustrophobic attacks... As to the service in the restaurant we found it very pleasant, the staff was extremely friendly and the service (ordering and removing dishes) could hardly be better. The buffets are diversified, sumptious and we enjoyed the variety of meat, fish, vegetables, pasta, soups, salads and desserts. The hotel is in walking distance to the center of Cala Millor. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the "Borneo" very much. Some "negative" remarks: -As we stayed at the hotel during the last week of March, the sun didn't reach the north side of the building so we never had sun on the balcony. If you are a sun lover try to get a room facing the south - Be aware that the hotel charges 20 € when you want to change your room (for me an absolute no-go) - The balconies on the 6th floor are not covered so you cannot use them when it rains (bad for the smoker's retreat) - Seating in the restaurant is very tight in certain areas so you can't almost avoid kicking your neighbour's chair when moving - and, yes, no free wifi is certainly not state of the art, even when the fee is rather low (about 15 € per week, if I remember well).

I would like to say the hotel is nice everything clean and the Housekeeping service is great 👍 but the gastronomic service is completely horrible, they actually don’t wanna work and when there is clients who paid for drinks all the attention go to them coz even it is all inclusive hotel you may pay for many cocktails But as a hotel and room everything was great and was a nice time there !!!

Food was poor, staff were ignorant, maids left empty cups on bedside tables and screwed up pj’s, dining area was chaotic and unorganised. Will not be recommending and me and my family will not return.

We visited in August 2017, as acouple aged 28 and 30. Overall we really liked this hotel and thought the price was good value for money. The hotel is run by allsun/alltours (German company) and transfers and information about possible trips were clear and well organised. The hotel is in a good location at the end of Cala Millor, it takes only a few minutes to walk into the centre of the resort. The hotel is right on the beach and although the beach is public (so you have to pay for sunbeds), you're allowed to bring drinks from the hotel to the beach. It takes about 40 mins to walk to Cala Bona. We didn't make it all the way to Sa Coma in the other direction, but there is anice walk through the dunes that way. We actually stayed here because our last minute deal in a different hotel fell through, and were allocated one of the Junior Suites on the top floor. The whole corridor had clearly been renovated very recently (some handymen even came to install towel rails during our stay!), to a very high standard. All rooms have a (side) sea view. There is a massage centre/sauna also on the top floor which we didn't use. Furthermore, the brand new Sky Bar on the top floor was lovely- peaceful during the day (lots of luxurious sun beds and bali bed) and atmospheric at night. However, for some reason you have to pay extra for drinks there. Consequently, whenever we had a look in the evening there was no one having a drink. I imagine the hotel will change this policy at some point! The pool area is very nice and no one seems to reserve sunbeds with their towels! We were always able to get places in good spits even later in the morning or day. On arrival we felt the food to be just okay, but that day was the exception - there was really a big variety at all meals and the food changed a lot every day. Theme evenings are taken seriously with an impressive array of dishes! At lunch and dinner there is always one or two Mallorcan dishes, and one evening was Mallorcan themed. , we really, really enjoyed the food. are also snacks served (late breakfast, late lunch, coffee and cake) all day but we were so full from regular meals we couldn't manage them. There was also sometimes special events like Iced Coffee day run by the animation team. The included drinks at the bar were okay, but not great. The gin and tonic tasted a bit like painstripper. Aperol Spritz was a better bet. Beer was fine too, and cava. No complaints though, it's still great value. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The animation team and entertainment programme also did a great job. The entertainment tended to be slightly geared towards an older crowd... but was okay. Over the week we heard a few people not speaking German, but they were in the minority. Also, signs/menu cards/notices are usually in German only. I can imagine coming and not knowing any German might feel a bit strange, but on the other hand, everyone has travelled with a German tour operator so they must be expecting this to some extent! A couple of minor things that didn't negatively affect our enjoyment but are worth knowing: You have to pay for the wifi... 15 euro per device for a week. You have to pay if you want minibar items in your room. The safe costs 5 euro for a week. Overall, a great time spent in a lovely hotel. I would recommend it to others!

Lovely 6 night break at the sister hotel Sumba. Great food and really nice, clean bedrooms. Been to many hols abroad and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed. Very pleasant, friendly staff. Right on the sea front and lovely walk up the promenade. Gentle walk to cafes and shops. Would definitely go back there again.

Having stayed at the globales Sumba last year we returned to the Borneo this year only to learn it had been taken over by Allsun. The food is nowhere as good as last year, both in variety and presentation. At dinner there was no dress code enforced, although there were signs saying no shorts or vests. the evening entertainment was very poor and amature The Hotel was very clean and staff excellent. Will not return next year

We stayed here for the last week of May. The hotel does not belong to Globales anymore, it has been sold to Allsun, a German group. With that said, the standard have improved considerably - we have visited the hotel in 2011. The rooms were refurbished, as were the corridors. The staff was extremely courteous, especially Laura at the restaurant, attending to our every need, and Juan Carlos in the bar - he even took the time to help me take drinks and a plate with cakes to our room! The food choice was varied and ample... Amazing Spanish favourites (Paella, Fideua, Gazpacho), freshly cooked meat and fish from a plate and a multiple choice of salads, soups and fruit. The deserts were also delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel for a quality break, where you most definitely express the contented sigh of satisfaction again and again.
