First, do not be confused, I am writing about the Sumba Hotel (Jet2 brochure leads us to think Sumba Borneo is one hotel when in fact they are sister hotels.) Make no mistake, this is a German hotel. So fine if you are German, but if not, do not expect much English conversation if any. The Rooms: -We had a...

We travelled to the Sumba/Borneo for a short break week commencing 11th may. On arrival met by a friendly and efficient check in process. Our room on the first floor was very clean although the bathroom was a little on the small side and there was a distinct shortage of clothes draw space in the bedroom. The restuarent was large...

The only thing that spoilt this holiday for me and my partner was the repetitiveness of food and the abundance of Germans! Alot of German themed entertainment, staff understood German more than English although could still have a conversation! Rooms were modern, very clean, free wifi in the lounge (although quite slow) and could buy personal wifi (1 user at...

The hotel was clean, staff polite (all bar one miserable waitress), entertainment was adequate (probably how the Germans enjoy it). Food was good enough but I overindulged and my trousers are a little snug. Hotel is perfectly placed for the beach which is sandy with clear waters. Centrally placed with regular buses. If you don't speak German, then you won't...

I went on this holiday with jet2 holidays. Not once did I see a rep or receive a welcome letter of any sort. The food was cold and serving sprouts for breakfast was just wrong! The rooms are clean but my room on third floor could do with modernising. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would go again if food...

Stayed here for the very last week of the season just before the hotel closed and could not fault it one little bit. The location is excellent, right on the beach front with a lovely promenade that you can cycle or walk on for miles. The food was fantastic with a great choice every day and all the hotel staff...

stayed at this Hotel 2012 and had good holiday, returned on the 10th of September 2013 to find the hotel now had a policy of overbooking rooms to keep it 100% booked. We arrived at 14:30 to find the hotel did not have a double room for us even though the holiday had been booked in Jan 2013. We had...
