Visited again after a couple of years, to introduce the Cabo de Gata to a friend. Family Hotel, is exactly that. Warm welcome by Gran, general organisation and dining service by Marc (her trilingual son) with much of the cooking by his Moroccan wife - plus a brief interlude of entertainment by their 3 year old daughter! Rooms are clean...

Almost a year ago, I visited here. Nice quiet place (off season!) and a good centre for exploring Cabo de Gata. Good food and nice hosts. Easy parking and gentle walks around the town and the countryside. Longer hikes too if that's your thing.

We had an excellent meal at the Family Amarga. The owners were very friendly, the food was absolutely delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. The food had a Moroccan influence and was incredibly tasty. We were made to feel very welcome. It's a great setting with a lovely pool area. Highly recommend.

Family hotel is run by a French-Moroccan family; although close to the beach, it is a haven of silence. Breakfast is amazing; everything fresh and plenty. Dinner is served at international hours (until 9.30 pm) and the food is enjoyable, at a very reasonable price, in an area where some restaurants or hotels seems to think they are on the...

The family hotel is truly a wonderful place to spend a few days in the sun, especially if you like a quiet time and a chance to have a cool dip with like-minded guests . You will find genuine quality here, an unpretentious welcome in a great hidden-away location, only steps from the lovely sandy bay of Agua Amarga. This...

A great little hotel excellent food and great welcome. Very close to the beach. Good value! Probably needs a bar to make it complete but the idea is quiet / family so maybe not. Has great out of season deals.

Was delighted to see the hotel was very close to the end of the long-distance coastal path. Beautiful small pool in a shaded patio, surrounded by gorgeous flowers. Very relaxing. The owners are French and extremely friendly. They serve a fixed price evening meal but I just had breakfast, which was fantastic. A perfect place to spend my final night...

We have been several times, by ourselves and with friends. It is just a unique place, friendly, but very good service, clean and food is perfect. In fact we first went fourteen years ago for Sunday lunch, but now it is our special night away place.

We went to this hotel in early February and enjoyed it immensely. Our stay was dinner, bed and breakfast. The hotel was immaculately clean, fresh towels, toiletries etc. Lots of beautiful Andalusia decor. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Dinner was generous helpings, beautiful cooked food and beautiful appealing presentation. Breakfast was fresh fruit, crepes, cheese, omelette, breads, all served...

We arrived and saw the sign that totally put us off. However, we were recommended to eat at the restaurant Rene and Michelle who are French and Moroccan. The restaurant has a very Moroccan feel about it and the menu is most definitely influenced by Morocco. Rene recites the menu to you and you choose from the 5 starters, 5...
