Made the reservation a month in advance and was obliged to cancel it 24 hours later due to family emergency. First call to cancel , I was advised to call again on following Wednesday to speak with the manager. Was not able to receive refund, but was allowed to choose alternate date at same price. OK

Before traveling to Norfolk I spoke with my brother, who is in the Navy. I wanted to know the best place to stay. His answer surprised me. He states"XYZ because they are usually clean." I expected he would rate a place on their food or atmosphere (pool, bar etc). Not cleanliness. I started reading the reviews. Even the expensive hotels were not guaranteed to be clean. I had not even considered an Econo Lodge. This one had a good rate for cleanliness. We were not disappointed. Very clean.. The lobby even smelled clean. Not big or fancy and needs updated. Front staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was cold cereal, bagels, muffins, fruit, coffee, juice and yogurt. We were happy with it. Bagels were individually wrapped so you know they were not touched by grubby little hands. No maid service. Easy walk to local restaurants. They have the old wide cast iron soaking tubs. Fridge, microwave and hair dryer good. No coffee pot. Fresh coffee in lobby.

I was in Norfolk for a wedding. I read the reviews about this place being a clean place that didn't cost a lot. It was very clean compared to some high dollar hotels I have stayed in and found dust on some of furniture. It had a few little things that needed some minor repairs. The complimentary breakfast wasn't what I expected but they did provide something at least. It was a very busy little place. Close to a lot of shopping centers and places to eat. I would definitely stay there again.

Was in Norfolk to celebrate my friends birthday and was originally booked at a motel closer to Ocean View Park. Having read the reviews for that hotel I switched to Econo Lodge Little Creek and so glad I did. Was a few dollars more but so worth it. Actually as my trip dates got closer the other hotel became more expensive than Econo Lodge so this was a good choice. This hotel is literally a five minute drive to access public beaches of East Beach which are quiet and family friendly. There is a sea food restaurant/bar across the street and a 7Eleven and other shopping within walking distance. Hotel grounds are well kept and clean as is the entire motel. Rooms are clean with clean linen and beds; while slightly hard appeared to be new and the room appeared to be recently updated. Plenty of towels and hot water. Fridge and microwave included. Breakfast area was clean and while basic, bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt was well attended to. Front desk staff was friendly and attentive. I would not hesitate to stay here again if at Norfolk beaches as it is a good value and only 20 minutes from Downtown Norfolk.

Room Tip: Rooms in back are probably quieter than those in front as you are away from main road.

This is a discount hotel but clean, well run, and friendly. I am getting tired of paying 3 to 5 times the price of this place for the same services. This was a grwat deal and very safe with the best location for us.
